  1. Hi Astral :D,

Firstly what kind of visa would you live on?

60+30 day tourist visa? No work permit possible.

    Multi-Non Imm O visa?

This will be the primary concern. :o

I guess he would need to be on a non imm as that is the requirement for WP's.

Working, well if you can say I am at home "playing" on the computer and internet and keep quiet

about any real work then you will probably be OK.

What I am trying to explore is the legal way to obtain a WP for work for a company outside of Thailand.

I.e a work permit for distance work.

    Best,

    Valerian

  2. Hi,

My question relates to a foreigner being employed by a foreign firm, recieving wages outside of

Thailand, but residing in Thailand for two years. By residing I mean staying in Thailand for more

    than 180 days a year.

A: If the foreigner leaves Thailand and performs his work outside of Thailand then he would not

need a work permit but would still have to pay tax on any income brought into Thailand, right?

B: If the foreigner performes work whilst in Thailand, for example computer work delivered to

his employer overseas by internet, then he would need a work permit and pay taxes in Thailand

as in A. But... how does he apply for that work permit? What rules apply and can the foreigner

apply for a work permit in a foreign company not present in Thailand at all?

    Best, Valerian

  3. What is the driving force behind writing countless messages with one purpose only.. to complain about the foundations and criticize somebody

trying to do good? Exactly how is that contributing to a positive change?

ColPyats adversaries have not come up with any informed or realistic alternatives to the currently operating foundations.

One even says that he wouldn't donate to the current system, even if it's the only alternative.

Better to not fund the foundations and let accident victims corpses lay around and rot i guess.

Atleast it feeds future complaints and rants on the internet about how LOS sucks.

    :D

Let's all write down what needs to be done, you walk out of the trench and tell them their little scams and turf ownerships are over, take it on from there.

You take the bullet to the back of the head.

Any particular foundation we should call afterwards or do you prefer we go full circle and let them sort out who's territory it is?

This is nothing but another severely neglected area/infrastructure by the successive governments over the years, just like the missing patrolling cars/motorcycles on the roads not actively taking care of the road viruses that plague this country(Strangely enough, one provides victims for the other. :o), or the long overdue rehaul of a mostly incompetent and corrupt police force.

Oh.. you mean that this is a bad country? Maybe it's corrupt even? I refuse to believe it!

Can we report it somewhere? Things must change!

    Ok. You win. :D

  4. The Democrats can claim all the consolation prizes they like. The fact is that PPP did remarkably well given that their A team of politicians was banned from politics and that the CNS - hel_l bent on keeping Thaksin out of power - were running the show.

I wonder how they would have done if it had been a fair fight....

"Fair fights" & Elections. I thought they were contradictions. :o

I can't help but to think of the saying "arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics - even if you win - you're still retarded!"

Thankfully however, there is a difference between arguing on the Internet and competing in the special olympics.

Not all participants on the internetforums are retarded.

    :o

  6. It is kind of stupid to believe in promises that are more like fairy tales, but politicians do this in many countries.
Ah.. clever enough to want to punish the coup government but dumb enough to believe in fairy tales?

I never said they were stupid, so don't peg that one on me. Voting based on your perceived self interest is perfectly normal.

So.. now it's not stupid to believe in fairy tales?

  7. Get real. Thaksin intelligently exploited an easily maleable power base.

Funny, the voters seem to be giving his party the vote once again. I guess they never learn. Or could it be that you are misinterpreting the situation?

I don't pretend to know why they did this, but it seems clear that part of the reason was to punish the coup government, and that impulse is well understandable.

And they want their Thaksin back. If they win their Thaksin back of course they should get their Thaksin back, but you know, it isn't over, there are still red cards to issue, and coaltions to be made. The Chao Isaan may not have won after all. We shall see. If they do win, I will say, congratulations to them and good luck to Thailand.

Ah.. clever enough to want to punish the coup government but dumb enough to believe in fairy tales?

  8. In other words, all the parties should fall over themselves promising the moon, which none of them can deliver. Reminds me of the US ...
No, just not a fan of leaders who murder their own people. I am funny that way.

I also think you are sugar coating Thaksin's performance. Didn't he give loans to people who couldn't possibly pay them back, and now they are in severe crippling debt?

And the 30 baht scheme, didn't that fail because the hospitals weren't actually funded to provide the proper care for that piddling amount?

Get real. Thaksin intelligently exploited an easily maleable power base.

You're right! It's much better not to make any promises at all. That'll win all the votes.

Silly ppl not understanding such simple issues. :o
