  1. Very true, excellent advice, If you or your Thai other half have only left Thailand for a weeks holiday that wont work, then again I don't think most people really need the obvious pointing out to them, or maybe that's just me

    Mark

On the contrary.. I have the complete opposite experience..

    Remiss,

really sorry to hear that mate, must be quite difficult if you miss the obvious on a regular basis and need someone else to point it out to you, still just goes to prove we are all different anyway chin up fella maybe the obvious will become more apparent over time

    Mark

Haha, I meant the other way around -- I have point out obvious things all the time!

  2. It's cheap (I live in the most expensive city in the world), beautiful people (I have very specific requirements, e.g. SE), great food and I actually prefer 30 degrees celsius..

So pretty much a nobrainer.. Moving when I can..

It is cheap for a reason. Are the people really that beautiful? Is the food so great? The food is nice for sure, but becomes monotonous after a while like any food. What is SE? 30 degrees is not a problem. 36 degrees with very high humidity is a different story. I'm guessing that you are only a past visitor here. I pretty much used to feel the same way when I was only a visitor.

Why is it cheap then? Yes. Yes. Been eating thai-food daily for 2-3 years and still think it's better than western food, although variety doesn't hurt sometimes. South east asia. I'm fine with 36-38 and high humidity. Yes, only visited for 5+ months the last couple of years. Well, hope I don't change how I feel about it, but I'm sure if I started hating it I wouldn't stay like some people..

  3. Are you drinking now???:D

See you are one of the guys, i was writing about, cheers

    It's cultural for many eirkur3...

Drinking cultures exists throughout the World including the origin Countries of many Western people in Thailand & on Thai Visa but you should know that already, you're from Denmark, not Qatar...

Haha, yeah, nobody drinks in Denmark :P

  5. In villages I think everyone has to give like 20-50 baht to cover the costs of the funeral.. The guy collecting those money seems to come around quite often, but anyway...

I have only been to one funeral and cannot remember how much I/we gave but it wasn't more than 100-300 baht I think..

  6. Why would "hi-so" tourists spend their holidays in Thailand ? The Grand Palace and Sukhotai are nice places to visit and there a couple of nice hotels too but beside that the country hasn't much to offer in term of attraction. Pukhet and Chiang Mai are lousy places, Pattaya has a bit more to offer but the huge meat market there is so repulsive that I wouldn't recommend the place to anybody.

Even a place like Singapore asks foreign investors with expertise to help them. Before Thailand attracts the high roller, it will have some serious soul searching to do. With my gf, we were talking how the service industry in Asia, from Seoul to Singapore, had much improved during the pas 10 years while Thailand is slipping behind. Just look a Thai Airways, while most airline now offers Video on Demand, they don't even have PTV in most economy flights.

Ok, they have "Thainess", whatever it means, but beside Thais, who cares ?

I agree. Though, I don't know what Programmable Temperature Vaporization has to do with anything (if it's the tv-channel ur talking about who cares about that on a flight and they do have vod..)

But both the country and country-side is to my liking, but hi-so tourists might not like toilets with manually applied water..

  7. i cant live without drinking everyday and night... lifes too hard for me :jap: but i do exercise as well

wish you the best, i am only asking people to answer if theyr are 100%, the answer is correct.

I have yet to find anything close to a 100% correct answer anywhere on the internet...

  8. Mine isn't just selective hearing. She hears what she wants to hear instead of what i said.

I suffer from this one as well ... LOL !!

    Goes for quees too :P

edit: I have had a couple of glasses of wine and quoted the wrong post..

edit2: Man TV is slow today.. Was supposed to quote this:

It has been my experience, that rather than listening, women use the time you are talking to think about what they are about to say next, which may or may not be related to what you have just said.

  9. I like suvarnabhum, nothing wrong with it. At other airports you'll have to pay 1000-2000 baht for a meal.. If 350 baht is too much, buy food outside the airport. And I'm sure you can manage one hour without beer.

Regarding taxis, just get one from the departure floor. No extra charge, and they all want to drive u. Not that it has happened to me, but if they won't do meter, just get out and take another one..

And if you're afraid of long immigration lines, get fast track.

  10. Flew them two years ago. My general recommendation is not to fly them unless you can't afford anything else.. Not unsafe unless you fly domestic I guess, but the staff generally unhappy/unfriendly. When transiting in Moscow it took some time for them to check my ticket and the people in front of my went were they should already so I didn't know where to go and was just sent in to some corridor where I could go left or right and after that had to figure out when to take a turn again.. Not so much fun being alone and ending up in some bus not knowing if you're in the right place..

Also they didn't have ANY in flight entertainment.. I'm not talking just not having a lcd screen in the seat in front of you, there just wasn't any at all! Now, that was a boring flight..

  11. At 33 years old she will be well aware that her chances of making money by going back to the Bar will be very limited - lots and lots of younger women getting into the "trade" every day - and if you find out she has, it will destroy the marriage.

If she is sensible - and thinks practically - she will decide that hanging on with you until you are able to sort out your job / financial situation is by far the better prospect for her future.

    +1

And congrats on the new job
