no, is not so. all the tourist (and this was a high number, about 50) i have asked say its much better now without beachchairs rental. now they are free to lay down an th beach whereever they want without getting ripped off.
None of them ever forced me to buy something. Sure the beachchairs and the beachmassage will be missed by tourists.First they tried to rip everybody off , now they are holding their hands up for help, nice bunch !!!
Why are people renting the beachchairs and having a massage near the beach?

Stop them in Suthep's backyard? The Taxi's on Koh Samui Never use the meters... When is someone coming to Samui to put a Stop to the Taxi Mafia????
-
The question is, how long will this enforcement of the rules last? Just today I saw a motorbike taxi with a high school girl on the back run through a red light dodging traffic at a major BKK intersection, and the policeman there did nothing .... nothing ... and he saw it!
I have faith in the intentions of the military government but little faith in the police.
Last night saw police and soldiers together, driving motorbikes, police without helmets and the soldiers with "combat" helmets...good intentions or propaganda?

Back to the airport, brother taxi drive reluctant to to use the meterclean up continues, where next?

clean up continues, where next?
Back to the airport, another taxidriver reluctant to use the meter this week, nothing changed.
-
I wish they would go to Koh Samui and start a Clean up there... It is Bad and Getting worse. Mafia Taxi Over pricing and not turning the meters on. Plus a big Russian thug environment on the rise... HELP Samui
I don't think they will start a clean up in Suthep's backyard.
I don't think General Prayuth care who's backer he goes into, fortunately... He only care for the good of the Thai people and the Country
it has always been bad, you know what some police officers are up to there

Can anyone explain why?
If some shrimps are from Thailand. Customer in Europe/USA will buy them the same as now. So the supermarket chains will order them.
Or is there more duty, now?
Colruyt and Carrefour, 2 of the largest supermarket chains in Belgium did boycott Thai shrimps the day after the Guardian published the article about the slavery, Colruyt immediately announced sending back the CP produce. The times are a changing.

Alexander Matusov. Now, first of all does that sound like a Russian name?
http://voiceofrussia.com/news/2014_06_25/Thai-police-arrest-Russian-crime-lord-5317/
More excrement on its way out.
In OP it says fake American passport, in one of the links you provided it says fake Korean passport
Is it hard to tell which passport belongs to which country?
Armenian passport, not "American"

witnessed police rounding up 2 cambodian servants and 1 vietnamese in a restaurant, the vietnamese had some money on her and bought her way out, the cambodians arrested by the police. Tell them to trust Thai authorities?

Have these Cambodian and Myanmar workers been TOLD to leave? Or are they just leaving because of some mass hysteria thinking that evil might befall them if they stay? That is an important question. In the first case, that would have been the first serious blunder in an otherwise quite intelligent handling of things by the current military junta. I consider that unlikely. Of course there is a third option. They might have been TOLD to leave, not by the Government, but by their employers who fear the consequences and fines if they are found out AND/OR want to exercise pressure on the Junta to leave and for the lovely old corrupt leaders to return. Even so, the Government SHOULD have pronounced an amnesty / regularisation measure that protects both the employers and the employees, provided of course that they now come forward and ask for a regular permit, within a certain deadline, and maybe pay a nominal fine (the employers)

The reds are a spent force of no relevancy now - they can bleat from the hill tops as much as they like but things are to be done 'Prayuth's way' now and everyone has to accept that whether they like it or not!!!
Thank god he had the guts and courage to hold a bloodless coup in which the reds protesting in Bangkok were herded up and sent back to their Northern heartland with their tails between their legs. That will teach them to threaten the army with a tin-pot bunch of inadequate's posing with their pitchforks.
Self inflicted wounds methinks and what did they get out of it?? absolutely zilch apart from one hell of a smack in the teeth which was thoroughly deserved!!!
They should be taught 'respect commonsense' and 'if something sounds too good (rice scam) then don't believe it as it IS too good to be true!!
The fact is the world is watching how the coup generals might treat the former prime minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
no sadly the world is not watching. you must live in a bubble. cnn has had no coverage of thailand until recently. i take it you never spent a single day in the military. i have, 4 years. generals dont mistreat public figures. but politicians will. She did not go because she had her brothers balls with her, she went because she was told to, like the good puppet she is.
open yourself up to the world and you'll find out, double bubble...and cnn = triple bubble

Nobody's got anybody. She walked in of her own accord.
The former prime minister is a courageous person to walk in to the Lion's Den as she has, rather than to flee Thailand.
We'll see the civility of the Boyz in Uniform now as the whole world watches.
So are the reds and all of Thailand watching and taking notes.
You wish you had the balls Yingluck has, and she has more balls than her brother ever had. It is also clear what course of action her brother has advised.
Carry on.

They should take away her passport for a start and even hold her under house arrest until her part in the 'great rice scam' has been through the courts and if she has to spend prison time then so be it!!! Other than that she should be fed and watered according to human rights laws.
tell them southern man, they 'll listen to you.

Does Prayuth know what he 's doing, a bleak future for all of us.HOT TOPIC ALERT!
This one is going to ignite ThaiVisa today. Big question, will any of them respond....or are they even in the country right now?

And how many successful raids did the police do in the seven months they were supposed to stop and prevent shootings and bombings? 28 people dead and many many wounded. That alone is enough reason for the army to step in. Now see if they can root out the shinamaffia.
with a little help from the amartmaffia

Again, its hard to see how railroading change is going to be palatable for all Thai's.
Of course those who have benefited from corruption won't like it, but it must be done for the good of the country.
wonder if those who are fighting corruption with the corrupt gonna like it?
-
Prawit, the retired general is waiting in the corridors to be appointed, meanwhile Prayuth keeps the circus going on, buying time for the senators and the dirty work! It's all in the planning.

most people understand that fighting corruption with the corrupt will never stamp out corruption and that it is not the aim of Suthep's movementI would have no problems with Prayuth being PM, or even Suthep being PM ...as long as they are elected by the majority of Thai people.
I don't think they are looking for a permanent P M. I believe they want an interim one so they can get enough reform into the government to allow a clean election. That is why they are looking for a non partisan one. Probably a limit on what you can promise. Pie in the sky would not be allowed. Such as Thaksin's give me 6 months and I will make you all rich or the PTP going to get a pad for all students.
Why are so many people anxious to have an election that will still leave all the corruption in the government and disunity in the nation. If they have a business and are using the corruption to make more money I can understand why they want it left alone. I don't approve of it but I can understand it.
For the rest who have no financial gain to receive from the corruption why are you so anxious to leave it in. Just run an election will not remove it. In fact it has grown since the last election. Why do you insist on leaving it there.
If you choose as I have to make Thailand your home what possible reason do you have to resist honesty in the government?
What the heck are you on about. Suthep no longer has a movement. He is now part of the answer along with every one else. Under the guidance of a wise man they will be able to come up with a solution. Also you are correct Suthep's movement was not to stamp out corruption. It was to get the Shinawatra's Mafia out of the government. That would automatically eliminate a lot of the corruption. No country is free of corruption. He knew that so that is why he tried to eliminate the major cause of it.
Please don't tell me you really thought he was trying to eliminate all the corruption. While you ponder that explain to us all what corruption methods he was using in this 2013 and 2014 effort to rid the government of an unsavory Mafia?
right, it never was Sutheps' movement, he was put on the forefront by the people behind the 2006 coup, their plan was ready mid last year long before Suthep left the Dem's and joined the former PAD'ers, the amnesty bill push was a welcome "trigger". Hopefully something good will come out of this but do not underestimate the Thai peoples' ability to see all through this and what is really going on: a power grab, a "clash of clans", corrupt to the core.

Prayuth is a pretty smart cookie, he has made the attempt to broker a solution by getting all sides round a table, giving them all the opportunity to resolve the situation - if all concerned cannot reach an agreement I suspect one will be imposed - which quite frankly I think the possibility is high, he will listen to all sides and impose a solution that may not be what everybody would agree too but will come somewhere in the middle - which is probably fair enough with no winners or losers just somewhere in between
