what's the daily rate?
how quick are they?
i want quality work but don't want to wait 3 weeks for a small studio to be painted..
please advise, i may have a couple of bits of work
-
sounds like an upgrade
from what i've read on thai prsions and the poverty i've witnessed in thailand i'll bet these guys are happy to go..
if they are international drug dealers they aren't gonna get trouble from the tough street thugs, the street thugs get their familly wiped out so they actually gopher for the big boys

i stopped reading this thread after 4/5 pages..
i appologise if this has been said already..
the op was right to report the incident especially after he was attacked....
i am very suprised at some of the repsonse to comments about how he may now be in danger..
imho i believe this to be a real threat, by someone mentioning he is danger imho doesn't show immaturity..it shows an understanding of the way things are
imho you were well within your rights to report this, i just hope the matter ends here and there is no revenge sought
off topic(for the peeps that think he's at no risk)
i caught a paeodophile twice, the first time i lost my temper and he ran away, i then caught him again(at it again, weeks later)..
this time i called the police, i had to insist they arrest this man..to cut a long story short, the guy was released without charge(obviously paid them off) and i was warned by concerned thai's that i should take care as i was in dangerous territory(they were appauled, but they knew the way things work)
so if i was in danger for shopping a paedophile, and i'm young and can take care of myself, then i believe the op is also at risk...but imho standing up for some sandwhich isn't as important as standing up for abused children
stay safe

u take as much offense as u like
..if it really bothers u then try and take more care in what u post..joke or not
hope that makes sense
-
mobi, i'll have a look on the pp site...i'm unsure if u can search back issues etc ??
i'm sure that an email to neils would get a response with the information, it was neils that did the interview..
i hope it's still active as it was a great idea

atb zeak
if u had said that lucifer and i were a tag team, tapping each other on the shoulder etc that wouldn't have been as petty/childish
u chose your words, u can sit and type all u want about being accepting of thai's, sexuality blah blah
if your beliefs were more than empty words on a web page then u wouldn't have felt the need for your gay jibe...
analyse all u want, i pulled u up for acting like an immature little kid, i'd have done it if u'd made a racist comment etc, online or in person
-
moonoi, i think u need to take your own advice and re-read the posts, try reading between the lines as well
i've replied to this guys comments and the feeling i get when i've read them...if u can relate so well to this guy then maybe u share some of the same traits as him
good for you
and u didn't address the very real gay jibe that he did make...u want to talk about maturity..take a closer look at the guy you are defending
miss, i'm ready to go back to the playground now...will you hold my hand
-
lol squeezing my bum lol
no i don't work in the auto trade, i never have done..i've worked in the print industry and i'll soon be opening my own gym
on the subject of work  u didn't say what u do? or what u earn?
u have a great interest in your gf finances...is that because your own finances are in such a sorry state?
you state that u will pay 10k a month indefinatley that u will never get back, but u refuse to contribute 10k to purchasing a car, her take on that would be less than she is spending on taxis now
this isn't an insult, dig just an opinion..
i really wouldn't be suprised if this relationship doesn't last, and when u next see your gf she is driving her own car
lol maybe she'll offer u a lift
soon your gf will realise that you are controlling/suffocating her..
btw, what was the purpose of this thread?
looking for manipulation tips/techniques?
atb with the future, whatever happens..
and just to pick up on your gay jibe, u don't have a great understanding of thailand in general if u want to throw childish comments like that about..
thailand is very accepting of homosexuals/cross dressers imho more so than in the west
my daughter is 6 months old, so unless i'm yet to some to terms with my sexuality then your comments were irrelevant, childish and uncalled for...
-
i understand zeak, purchasing a car is a big decision and it's good that you are thinking ahead...
a relationship imho is all about give and take, you need this for both your happiness
your partner isn't exactly on the bottom of the ladder in earnings in thailand, if she's on 30 k she earns well
i'm guessing u have owned cars before, some people love them some loathe them, i'm guessing they are not your cup of tea...
has your partner ever owned a car? i'm guessing she hasn't if she can't drive..
you are refusing to allow her to experience something that is within her reach, because u don't agree with it
i wouldn't be happy if i had never learned to drive/purchase a car all because my partner forbid it..
imho you'd have more say if u were picking up the bill from the get-go, but it seems her intentions are to finance/purchase the car herself
when u say u are happier with the idea of a driver @ 10k per month...are u going to pay for that? from your own money? or do u expect your wife to contribute?
can u imagine wanting to purchase a car @ 10k month only to be told u can't afford it...but u can afford a daily limo service at 10k per month...same price but u don't get to keep the car...
warranties cover costs of repairs, a new car would cost the same or less as paying a driver 10k month on the never never for a motor u will never own, get a satang back on

i believe that a counselling service has been set-up in pattaya...
it's organised by expats, i believe they are experienced as it'd be a can of worms to offer this service with no qualifications/experience...it was advertised on pattaya people a while back, i believe it was completely voluntary, a small donation may be asked in the event that someone attends the hospital/call at 4am etc...just to cover petrol etc...i don't believe this is a profit making business
i hope it works, it's a noble idea and nice to think that others can selflessly dedicate their own time for the benefit of others...it saddens me to see the amount of suicides/breakdowns
any1 have more info on this organisation?
-
btw is there a big age gap between the 2 of u?
i've usually dated women that are in my age bracket...that is why forbiding someone is so foreign to me..
i could imagine forbiding a child...but not an adult
-
zeak, i understand that you are concerned for her financial well being, but don't u believe in freedom of choice and allowing people to make and learn from their own mistakes?
i wouldn't regard this a smart arse comment, just an opinion r.e gettin defensive
others have interpretted your post as a tad controlling, they posted words to this effect, you then reply that it's none of anyones buisness..it's your intimate relationship...you also mentioned something like u'll spend as long as is needed untill she understands i.e admits defeat and follows your train of thought..
i was only replying to what i had read, perception is a funny thing, kinda like beauty
lucifer, your last paragraph is kinda relevant to this thread
op, that wasn't a smart arse comment either, just an observation from the thread i.e she works, earns her own money, wants something but her partner/boss controls whether she is allowed to make the purchase
-
whenever i visit bkk i park away and just take the skytrain/ac bus...imho it's easier and quicker..
i don't know what's up with the op??
he seems very defensive to opinions that differ from his own, yet here he is asking for advice on how to deal with a problem in his intimate relationship..
it's your decision not to drive a car, maybe you are a cheap charlie, maybe you can't afford it or maybe u find public transport easier in the smoke...but that's just it...your decision..now u are trying to impose your will on your gf..a al control freak i.e don't mind spending 6 months argueing over it(relationship??) just so she finally shares your opinion...
i personally agree with most comments on this page...it's a status symbol, rape happens..it happens in the west...are u going to believe a western woman thats says her only reason for owning a car is fear of rape?..as was mentioned the rapes are not that common..although they do happen
i doubt this will make sense to you, it's not the same as your own opinion
as u said your are her companion, you have the right to voice your opinion, u don't have the right to forbid her...because that's control
maybe i've misunderstood this thread..if i have i appologise, but imho the reason i distance myself from farangs in thailand is that many are 2nd/3rd class citizens in their own country, then they visit thailand and try to treat the thai's like they are lower than themselves, disrepect them, control them etc etc

icecubes,
not a flame, just a reponse
if memory serves me correct u allways seem to have a lot to say about nothing
how many 6 lane highways can u name in pattaya...barr sukhumvit?
and no haven't heard anything in the plans...
only thing i've heard is a new carrefour and maybe a new stadium
brother in law is a director in one of those undesirable type companies
estate agents
...and no i didnt buy from/through him
thread starter,
all the best with your property search...u can stuill find bargains/good buys in your price range....my favourite buy/that i didn't get would have been 1 of my cheaper investments...off royal cliff for about 550 k...they didn't have a juristic person in place to complete the sale and i had to head home
if that place is still available it'd be about your price range...very small room but the unit has a rooftop pool and leads onto a secluded beach on the back of jomtien/royal cliff really worth a look
u can get bargains(resales) away from the popular spots...but all the new projects are triple + your budget...so that's something to consider with your investment...i.e people will always want to invest small amounts but the new builds are out of their range
anywayz
all the best whatever happens

spoke to a guy earlier in the majestic
reduced from 695,000 to 650,000(farang name)
just move in, rooms been renovated and furnished on the 3rd floor
i have one on the 5th floor(top floor), corner unit overlooking the pool all brand new(farang name) but i want a bit more than that
it's an ok condo block for the price, in jomtien, needs a lick of paint on the outside(that's in the pipeline) when it hits full farang occupancy(49%) the prices will rise and they'll also rise with the market price and being jomtien, the external paint job will also increase the value
ps
as it wasn't at 49% last time i checked u may get a cheaper unrenovated room from a thai
pm if u want details or a contact number
all the best

thanks for the time and information
really appreciated
i'm going to try and find out about flights etc
ps
i'm a guy
with regard to my original plans, if i'd utilised my original multi entry tourist visa then i'd have been fine to stay until my funds are cleared, then apply for the marriage visa with proof of funds
but c'est la vie
thanks again
-
ps
does phnom pehn have any companies offering the same service? i.e apply on my behalf for the visa?
-
thanks for the reply lopburi
we're not married at the moment...she wanted to get married at 7mths pregnant which i thought was unusual...when 7 mths came she didn't want to get photographed/married due to her size...
we're just going to get a registered marriage first and have the traditional ceremony at a later date...so we can marry anytime
what's the cost of the non immigrant visa? could i get this inside thailand? and would i have to show bank details or anything like?
we have property that we are going to sell, once sold i'll have enough to show the 400k, at the moment we can't show this
i've just been looking at phnom pehn, the accomodation, cost of living seems cheap, if i could get a cheap flight that may be an option for the short term?...that is if i can't apply for the non imm visa?
any1 know or visited the embassy in phnom pehn? is it busy? easy to find? and easy to obtain a tourist visa? costs?
really appreciate the reply/suggestion lopburi
thanks in advance

hi all
i'd appreciate some advice regarding obtaining a tourist visa for thailand from a neighbouring country...malay/cambodia/laos etc
can i apply/purchase a tourist visa in cambodia? where?
I've seen that companies offer a package for a tourist visa from penang...flights/accom/person to collect your passport and apply for single entry tourist visa on your behalf...the whole trip/package would cost close to 20k baht
i've just had a baby and am trying to keep costs down...nearly 20k seems expensive and i'd like to get a tourist visa for less if possible. The package actually costs 15k but with departure tax, airport money and funds for a night would be close to 20k
Is this service(some1 applying for visa on my behalf) legal? and is it available at the embassy? or only through the company that sells the package? i.e could i find a company in cambodia/laos/malay that would take care of all the paperwork/waiting at embassy for me?
what's the cheapest i could get a tourist visa in one of these countries?(return transport, accom, tourist visa, spending cash etc)
i hope this makes sense(i haven't been sleeping much with new born and am currently in an internet cafe with thai kids trying to deafen each other with online computer games )
i'd really appreciate some advice/info, i'm not in the position to apply for 1 yr/marriage visa for a few months yet and my current 30 day stamp expires mid next month(i lost 60 days on my original multi entry tourist visa... that and the new legislation is what has caused me grief)
again appologies if this post is hard to read but would appreciate if members could take time to respond with any relevant and helpful advice
thanks in advance

it's in one of the bigger supermarkets, i think i saw some in carrefour pattaya klang or maybe tesco lotus sukhumvit/theprasit
it's nice with a ruby
-
while u may find cheap accomodation in pattaya everything else is more expensive...unless u know the area and where to go..
same for khao sarn...u may get lucky and find a cheap bed..but your first beer in that area would have bought u a better room
chiang mai is beautiful and very cheap, hua hin has a nice beach and is cheaper than pattaya, cha am is 30km from hua hin and is cheaper and quieter than hh
if u're visiting thailand fro the nightlife etc then u'll be up against it with your budget, if u want a relaxing holiday in a beautiful country then your budget will be fine
as they say "up 2 u"
good luck & enjoy yourself
**avoid hotel pickups in bkk...usually hidden charge elsewhere
when u arrive, head up to departures and jump in a cab that's dropping some1 off, failing that and if u don't have too big/heavy a bag then walk across the carpark to the main road, if u get to the bus stop(see it easily) u'll get cab easy without the wait

wilko,
BIG PIZZA on naklua is authentic...it's just like eating in italy, ham, wine, cheese etc is all imported and the pizza is cooked in a wood chip oven
as for american food, imo the southern cooking is delicious and american beef/steak is some of the best in the world.......but i'm not a fan of the american pizza

hey all
i'm after some info...hopefully positive/good news
i gave a norwegian man first aid in december, the guy was taken to bangkok pattaya hospital but was to be transferred to chonburi hospital once he was stable enough..i visited the guy in hospital a few hours after his admission and although he was still in a bad state he was awake and able to talk....
this all happened on my last day in pattaya, i flew out a few hours after visiting the guy in hospital
he's in his 40's and has a gf from burriram
i'd like to hear from any1 who may know this guy just so i know he's on the mend
if this helps i believe him to be a buddhist as he was wearing some white cotton on his wrist that would have been done by a buddhist monk
if u have any info please advise

big pizza on naklua is the best in town......
they have another in soi korea off jomtien (100 metre from police box)
Pattaya Police Swoop On Sickening Pornography.......
in Pattaya News
Posted
i read the title and thought to myself "hooray, they've actually done something"
i caught a paedophile in pattaya on 2 occasions(the same farang male)
the 2nd time i caught the paedophile i called the police, the farang was in possesion of a flash drive that he used to store the images
the top cop at the station obviously knew the guy and must have been on the take...to the disgust of myself and witnesses the farang was allowed to leave without charge
apparently thailand is fine for people to look at naked children...the phrase i heard from several thai cops was "only looking" "this thailand" "mai pen rai"...
i pray the bbc or any international news organisation blows the lid on thailands attitudes and society...
