u obviously mix in different circles than i do

the circles i mix in people are comfortable enough with themselves that they can use slang.....hasn't held any1 i know back in terms of success or getting on in life

obviously u mix in simmilar circles to taxexile i.e u need to label peeps on either how they talk or dress

most people i know...peeps 2 u would rather socialise and relax with some1 who is confident and non judging, they can talk slang if they wish without some pompous fart telling them what they sound like and how they should talk

here's a wee e.g that i heard..some1 at a pals work was stood on their soapbox saying how my hairdresser was a chav..the way he speaks and dresses on telly blah blah he's a chav blah blah....turns out that person lives on a housing estate

now there's nothing wrong with living on a housing estate etc..but it carries it's own sterotypes and there's a fair few "chavs" living on them...yet this guy the pompous talking factory worker was calling successful millionaires "chavs" because of how they spoke/dressed...

2 Dwarves head out to thailand on the pull....

the 1st night they both get lucky and each take a beauty back to their hotel rooms

i'm 25 and i've lost count of the amount of my friends that wear..rolex, cartier and panerai

i own a couple of the above, i didn't go for the rolex as i felt they were too known/common

i also own a tag(they were good 10-15 year ago)

now i get the impression taxexile is a lot older then myself yet i don't feel the need to judge others on their choice of wrist wear, i don't believe taxexile has ever tried on a genuine expensive watch...i get the impression he's just heard stories 3rd hand or read about them in books...all the elite &lt;deleted&gt; etc pmsl

as for the comment look at a persons shoes or haircut...my friends and myself don't dress smart all the time...sometimes we look like right messy fooks-we don't give a &lt;deleted&gt; some of the hairstyles friends and i have worn would be regarded by some as crap(yet the cuts were by same hairdressers as beckham etc)

at the mo' my hair is a complete state as i'm growin it out

so your "look at their haircut and shoes" doesn't quite fit ...it may well have applied when your daddy originally told u it, but not today

my friends and i have bought our watches for several reasons, they look nice, they hold their value ok, they are good to have in the familly(pass down to kids etc) and we could afford them

we never bought them because they are the toys of the rich, elite and carry some air of snobbery about them, the way taxexile post's with his comments ...it sounds like he thinks he needs 1....making judgements on peeps personality for their choice of watch....what an arse

I wouldn't have a problem if some1 had a moody watch...i wouldn't feel the need to inspect it and i wouldn't feel the need to judge them...but then i own an original...i imagine most peeps that own a nice watch would say the same thing...

without a doubt the best itallian restaurant with authentic imported itallian ingredients and a wood stove oven is "cico & pina Big Pizza"

you'll find them in naklua, 5 minutes walk up from dolphin circle and just past the open beer bars...look for the sign "Big Pizza"

they've just opened another restaurant in jomtien

they're not 80 baht but are very reasonable and the food is 1st class..

i love itallian food and have eaten all over italy, this place is the best in pattaya, 10 times better than the open italian restaurant on beach road and 50 times better than the italian/pizza place near view talay

once u eat at cicco & pina's u will be a repeat customer..their food is that good

but as others have said....with the money and cartier watches etc i find it hard to believe that a) he had them with him b)he would stay in that area and a cheap hotel

i would never bring 1 of my watches to los...i use my phone for time keeping.....and if i was carrying that much cash with me i would be inclined to spend more than 500 baht on a room/hotel....i can rough it...but u want something close to what you are used to.....

if this guy is used to buying quality items its unlikely he'd check in2 a hotel that wasn't quality

i guess it makes sense in some ways....

in the uk u can buy sim cards just about anywhere..no questions asked...in pubs, boot sales and regular markets they are common...no passport required...

*here's what puzzles me though...i returned a few weeks back...

when i arrived at the final customs(before boarding my plane) and x ray machine i remembered that i had my razor and scissors in my toilet bag inside my hand luggage....

before handing over my bag i said i needed to remove some things...they understood what i said but just took my bag...put it through the machine and handed it back to me.... i was so shocked that i asked them if they were going to/ or wanted me to remove the items from my hand luggage(they knew what they were)

"mai pen rai" was the reply

i'm concerned at what others could do in this situation...

i would rather have lost my items than have them handed back to me before boarding a plane...it didn't inspire confidence anywayz

thought i'd share this as it relates to terrorism/terror threats and how the thai's are handling it...or not*

i think your sim has expired...as mentioned u have to top up every few months to keep the account/number active....i imagine after 6-12 mths idle the number would be lost...but u may get lucky

then approach the dj or owner and negotiate a fee
