  1. Following the success of this programme tablets will also be given to lorry and coach drivers.

They can then work many more hours without feeling tired although I suspect the tablets they will be given probably wont have gps and will only be for oral use but will definitely work. Productivity is bound to go up.

Here's to Thailand, the hub of tablets, excellence in education and driver productivity.

  2. Buy a little gold every month wai.gif

Keeping your savings in gold is, without a doubt, the most effective solution.

If I would have money I would prefer farm land. I recall the stories of my grandparents, how the rich people went to the countryside and bought a chicken with a golden ring. Everyone was hungry beside the farmer. You can't eat gold, but having 10 natural chicken that produces maybe 3-5 eggs per day is easy.

Man cannot live on eggs alone.......

So shall we invest in eggs or chickens as we can't own or farm legally here. :)

  3. With your comment concerning the gravy train, most Thai women who mary a farang think that they are boarding the gravy train for life. Recently my Thai wife decided she would not work in the company business any more because ridding the gravy train, sleeping, eating, drinking and entertaining friends was more fun than working. Well, she is in for a surprise, the gravy train has come to the end of the line. I am about to inform her not let the door hit her in the ass on the way back to Esan. AMAZING GRAVY TRAIN! Have you had a similar experience?

I'm sure you are on your own here, I can't think of any other falang who has had a similar experience, must be a one off. whistling.gif

  4. Bankrupt, the shamed politicians will have to wear burkas to disguise themselves, oops they made it illegal :)

I bet the criminals will be please, no lights on in business premises at night, an invitation or what !

They could always sell the country and buy cheap land, say in Siberia or Mongolia ? allegedly France would be a decent tourist destination if you take away the French :)

  5. That certainly ought to make some space on Sukkhumvit and Silom. be nice to see the fake videos, drugs and stupid sex toys off the sidewalks. nothing spells low class better

So apart from this fake goods problem Bangkok is high class ??????

Fake drugs and sex toys hmmm not seen any of those on offer. has any company got intellectual property rights on dildos ?

Looks like the only thing that might disappear off 'Sukkhumvit & Silcom if this law was ever seriously enforced would be the copy videos, not much space saved there so you might just be disappointed.

  6. Alcohol laws will be "strictly enforced" in Thailand. For example the drunk driving hit and run Ferrari killing of the cop in Thonglor. How could any Thai take Thai government threats to 'enforce " laws on alcohol when cases like the Red Bull Ferrari never get enforced? How could the newspaper print stuff like this without raising up an investigative challenge on this duplicity of alcohol law enforcement in Thailand?

Strictly enforced means what its says but only if you are not in a powerful position (or related to someone who is) or have lots of money. Is that not how justice works almost anywhere in the world ? Maybe its a little more obvious in some countries than others but its pretty general.

  7. So you are saying he should just suck it up and take what the THAI is throwing at him regardless, bow down and kiss the feet of this Thai landlord who apparently is trying to extort money out of him. Let me guess Nisa, you are a Thai woman right?

Sadly yes it the way things work here. The British Embassy WONT get involved. The various charities are also unable to help. Sometimes its actually better being in prison on remand that out on bail but unable to leave the country or work here.

    TiT.....

I cannot see how being in a The Monkey House is better that being free but restricted on bail, it just beggars belief you could say that assuming your aware of prison conditions in Thai jails ?

  8. Disgusting! Thai culture or just the need of money?

BOTH ! We all know most of the Thais are just too lazy to work, BUT they all have money to drink Lao every day, smoke (whatever what...), we also see many beggars and "garbage bin jumpers" with very nice/expensive mobiles, etc...

At the other hand i have to admid that the system keeps them dumb and poor, and nobody of those hi-so and government craps gives a shit ! Many of those poor basterds are forced to do bad things to survive.. Of course this is very wrong and sad what happened here and they should punish as well the parents as the guy who "bought" his 13-year old bride !! But again, i'm not surprised that this happens in amazing Thailand!

Also the fact that it's allowed that men can have a bride from... 15 years old is CRAZYNESS, but unfortunately it's Thai culture and "law" (whatever this last word means in TH). There are so many crazy laws in TH that for us, farangs, doesn't make any sense.... Like prostitution is forbidden by law, but it's one of the main incomes in Thailand! and not only in places like Pattaya, Bangkok, Phuket, etc... But in the country side are so many brothels where only LOTS of Thai men come every day.. And do you think government and police don't know this...? lol.... they are on the list of visitors.... shame on Thailand !!

So its crazy to be able to marry at 15 ??? But in the 'educated UK you have to wait until you are a mature 16 ? IS Britain also crazy ? Should women be 30 before they can marry ? What world do you wish to live in & good luck finding fundamental religious nuts to join you there.

Just because Farangs cannot understand Thai law and culture does not make it wrong just means you live in a blinkered world unable to have open mind due to your narrow Western unbringing.

On prostitution, well it exists everywhere & closing a few brothels is hardly going to stamp out the practice here or in any Western society.

OMG police on brothel lists, gosh that would never happen in a civilised society & I can't think of any 'repectable' country that has had Police that use prostitutes & never anyone in Government jobs. Must only be Thailand thats depraved ?

What are you doing living in a country that's so crazy and a place where you find it's culture is 'disgusting'

  9. Hi,

Just a general question on cost.

The situation is the owner of the apartment I rent. He tells us the rent has to go up as his costs are increasing. This has happened twice in the last two years. One of the things he says is that tax has increased.

My question is, have business costs and taxation increased much in this period ? I do not see increases in prices of other accommodation places which is why I ask.

Your input will be much appreciated.

    David

  10. And there was me thinking it was just Aussie's who can't handle their p1ss!!!!

Rickster. as a native born Australian who is a very moderate, social drinker, I think your comments are are little bit off the mark and to some people may be offensive.

Why not become familiar with the Forum Rules before posting?

    Forum Rules

    7) Not to post slurs or degrading comments directed towards any group on the basis of race, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

Touchy touchy, what about all those discriminatory comments about the thais, double standards ? Besides most people know the Aussies like drinking

  11. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a sign maker in Pattaya that is able to put photos onto the signs they make.

I would assume a company that has vinyl printing facilities would be the sort of place although not knowing about the printing / sign making process I could be wrong :)

  12. The rent is fair in comparison with other studio apartments in Jomtien Beach Condos, another advertiser here on Thaivisa rents at 8500 and is an agent, A1 has a studio available at 7000 baht.

So his price is spot on, what a waste of time all these know it all posters have spent trying to be experts.

I'm on the ground here and renting in A1 short term at 8500.
