So blame anyone but the boys. Not everyone stoops to those levels, for what, a dream of money, chasing the capitalist dream, so why are there any young people left in poor areas ?
Only a few demean themselves in the pursuit of money, most make the best of what they have, families and friends.
I see some of the posters are those who whilst using Thais blame others, " like happily married to a boy in Chain mai", like the boy would stay if you had no money.

If he survives his term it will be a ruined uncompetitive country he leaves. That might not be a bad thing as no one wants them as world leaders when they are selfish and inward looking.
Now the world sees a country controlled by a childish, greedy, selfish, unscrupulous, low IQ, thin skinned redneck who changes his mind as often as the wind changes direction.
-
Well if I were Samsung I would relocate and ruin the country as it is nothing without these big companies. Before locking up heads of big companies they need to change the whole of Koreas way of doing business.
Has any Korean president ever served a whole term or have they been removed for corruption ?
Corruption is endemic in Asia and not so hidden as in the west.
If he needs to hide then he should go to Thailand as they can't find anyone especially if you have money or are a big monk or drink red bull ☺

Had this been a Thai on Thai incident would anyone have been interested ?
Watch out for more incidents in Mc Donalds, Thais can now beat up each other with no fear of arrest ?

Resisting arrest?......Exactly what offence was Comrade Ruski being arrested for in the first place?
Perverting the course of justice if he swapped seats with the female driver for starters

Has the author of this article gone into a time slip because Christmas is in December and yes it is in December every year which could be coincidental I am not sure. This month is July so there are 7 months since Christmas.
Could it be the writer is very, very slow at writing?
Could it be your so slow you were unable to read that it was a report about the inquest. Amazing how inability to properly read makes ppl look like idiots.

Why is it Thai's seem to think they are exempt from market forces and that their Goverments should bail them out because of their faliure to budget for lean years ?
-
This type of situation where they have been breaking the law for years usually ends up with them complaining regardless that they have been illegal and how they assume the government will be provided a way of making them a living
Perhaps they would like to show how much tax they have paid whilst they have been having a rent free pitch much to the publics inconvenience.

Okay now I'm worried about staying in Thailand. The situation is getting worst for foreigners. Bombs, lack of human rights, immigration rules changing, borders monitored and now this. Time to get out, before the lynch mobs arrive.
Ah, I was wondering when the usual drama queen comments would appear. Lynch mobs, lol why<deleted>would you think a mob would be after some anon falang, your more likely to die from a drunk driver or your bar girl / boy than a mob.
All of the points you make have been the situation long before the coup and will always be the case in Thailand.

Hitler & Boneparte were about the same size, they also thought they were gods but were they as childish as the current one. Of course like most misguided dictatators they can only rule by intimidation and censorship.
Prayut on the otherhand seems a nice well adjusted fair sort of guy who is looking out for the masses and this edict is for their good as he wouldnt want them to be confused by hearing different viewpoints especially as he is right.

Riddle:
If all the criminals in phuket had no jobs, would anyone care?
Every single entertainment, banking, housing, even the bus lines... are full of scams. When taking a bus to phuket the driver will stop off somewhere where you will be asked to pay for transportation to leave phuket. THis is a scam.
My heart goes out to the families whose land, house, business that the banks and lawyers have stolen from their hard work. I will continue to promote to my friends and family to never go there. ... nor any thai scam island.
2 cents.
2 cents worth, I think you overvalue yourself. What scam happened in this case ? Where is the relevance in your post to the subject this thread is about ?

What purpose would jailing them do ?
I suspect a very large percentage of nightclubs are no different than this place in regard to health and safety. With no efficient policing of regulations, a prison sentence for these guys wouldn't have been a deterrent, owners will just ensure they have stool pigeons in place.
This is a worldwide problem, often fatal nightclub fires unearth breaches of regulations even in the west.
In a country where human life is cheap and ensuring peoples safety is an avoidable business expense why should they bother, the chance of it happening to their nightclub is pretty small in % terms.
Yes I know the reasons why they should bother but thats a falang viewpoint and this is Thailand with that special ingredient, Thainess.

Why cant business help these police with some food. The retail price of some rice and Gop is very inexpensive for them. And police dont get paid enough. They barely survive. Very kineow. But when they have a problem the first friend they call is a policeman....
This I presume is sarcasm, if not then it was written by an ostrich.
Everyone knows if you call a cop it costs you so probably not 1st place you would call, police get good money, its just that a large part is non declared & tax free. 1400 baht for two meals is a lot of rice & Gop, doesnt look like an upmarket place, he either took his whole family or drunk at lot of alcohol.
Lastly please give me your address so I can bully you into feeding me cos you seem to think thats ok behaviour.

Good, I hope there are no appeals against the ruling.
Great news!
While this looks surprisingly like justice, the fact that the charges were laid in the first place proves this government is as bad as all others before it.
The charges were laid during the previous government...
But the present Government could have stopped this case a long time ago.

So you cannot transfer your subordinate if you have "conflict of working" with him? And get 2 years for that?
Had you have read the original post properly you would have read he was found guilty of abuse of power by giving his subordinate a lower ranking post.
Had he tranfered the worker to an equal grade post there would not have been a court case.Hardly the sort of actions one would expect from the head of a Police Service.

Hi,
I am looking for some advice, ideas for improving the wi-fi service offered to guests.
Presently we have 1 internet line which 5 routers are wired (one to the other from what I can see) The site is over 150 meters in length and guests often have to sit on their balconies to get a decent connection.
Any ideas how to improve ? Would a second internet line coming in at the opposite end of the site help ?
We are in Laos and internet is slow and expensive compared with Thailand and tech advice from the telecom companies is, well you can guess..... But they have said for us to get good connection in rooms they could do it for $7000. Thus why I am looking for alternatives.

Surely there where staged payments tied to inspections and progress reports. Who signed off on those? I know TIT but when countless lives are at risk when something goes wrong, surely this can't just be fobbed off as TIT.
Farang think too much.
Not good.
Yes better to be thai who have no pride in their work, no value on human life, very corrupt and very mistakenly think they are a superior race when reality like this event shows how backward they really are.
Yes i think you sum up thais very well, they dont think at all....
Some people see a collapsed bridge....... others see lottery numbers.
Change your perspective unhappy farangs.

I would normally not bother commenting on something like this but some of the stuff that has been written by my fellow concerned citizens is absolutely ridiculous and unkind.
Before you want to make a comment perhaps you could try a little self test in future.
1. Was i there?
2. Do I know the people involved?
3. Am I qualified to comment on the topic?
4. Do I have first hand experience of a situation like this?
YB
Here is my feeling on the story; there is personal tragedy, a person died in a horrific traffic accident and another person will be left traumatized by the experience.
A family lost a loved one and it has been brutally televised, another family saw a loved one in distress which was brutally televised.
My comment would be to express sorry to the family for their loss of a loved one, my sincere hopes that the survivor can come to terms with the tragedy and that once all the facts have been found the right outcome takes place.
Hopefully the investigation and the outcome will be fair and that those that need to know will know, I doubt if it will be televised in the same way as it will be nowhere near as sensational.
Please show some self control.
I fully expect some well informed person/people to comeback with some Thai bashing nonsense which will be based on wild generalizations., for those I would suggest you move somewhere else and stop using my air.
Whilst you make some good points who do you think you are ? "Stop using my air" ??? Whose air ? You have title deeds ?
Move elsewhere ? Perhaps you should move to a deserted island so no one steals your precious air.
I was reading with some amusement, wow the countries that some of you expats come from must be happy you left...... when i see this silly comment, maybe your really the primeminister you seem to have the same mindset but I suspect your just a nobody with illusions of grandeur

Idiot response by Bongoz. Of course it would be completely
Stupid to,transpoort any suspected MERS by public
Transportation. If the Govt is as prepared as the ,claim to
Be, they will have one or two ambulances at Swampy, medical
Personnel trained with standard isolation procedures to transport
To appropriate medical center
Why was Bongoz an idiot ? Seems you are the idiot for not bothering to read the original post which says the two un- named hospitals sent refused patients by taxi to the infectious disease hospital.
An apology due ?????

To discipline them, or shut them up?
Probably been promoted as they have threatened to go public with some info and stuck together as a group. Otherwise why weren't they sacked?
Your obviously unaware that no one ever gets sacked from the Thai police.
This possibly is because to climb the ladder in this institution you have to buy the desired position with big money, also the reason it is so corrupt.
