  1. What's your point? I occasionally still watch it, but have to turn it off rather quickly, especially if they talk politics.
  2. I used to watch it 20 years ago, just for the headlines, then flip to BBC for proper, unbiased reports. Now, I watch neither as they are both biased.
  3. Is that all? They deserve torture and death.
  4. No idea about Residency, this thread is about Citizenship. If you are married to a Thai, you need 3 years of uninterrupted tax receipts, so you are not quite ready.
  5. I hope you don't watch CNN, which is biased towards Israel, obviously.
  6. He's fighting a corrupt US war machine, which is responsible for many of the war and atrocities around the world.
  7. He's right obviously with the Ukraine war but not so sure about Israel.
  8. Where are these numbers from? Maybe if you start paying tax on your pension or income from abroad, you'll get representation to change the Thai system????
  9. First I've heard of this. I see Bangkok bank pays interest on non resident account. Are these like offshore accounts? https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Save-And-Invest/Save/FCD-Account-for-Non-residents
  10. I was actually working here but 75% of my income was from working online for a US company, and I paid tax in USA. I don't know.
  11. The Thai tax law regarding crypto was unclear until March last year. I bought all my bitcoin 5 years + ago. I have kept most of it on a hardware wallet and a US bank(Kraken). I really have no idea how this is all going to pan out: I'm looking for answers before the next bitcoin halvening in a few months. . Many people falsely think Bitcoin is not traceable. However, like other currencies, there are ways to limit, avoid taxes. My mother gave bitcoin Christmas gifts to her grandchildren, I've friends that moved to Portugal/Dubai to offramp profits, etc.
  12. Can I get a Wise card sent here to Thailand? My Wise account is in Euro.
  13. Check it out here. One thing, I couldn't get it sent to a Thai address, so I used my mum's in Scotland. I've had it for about 5 years and had to invest about $500 to get the card with 3% cashback(in crypto but can exchange immediately). I believe that has risen quite a bit. Yes, look at the attachement. However, you can get a card without buying(staking) any crypo, but obviously without the cashback. It as worth staking as I got good rewards and the price of their token rose considerably. Also got free Netflix, Spotify, and free First class lounges at airports. tps://www.forbes.com/advisor/credit-cards/reviews/crypto-com-rewards-visa/ https://crypto.com/cards
  14. Hi, could you explain why you take you pension, that is taxed already, the year after?
  15. I use my Crypto.com debit card for almost everything. Can top up with Bitcoin.
  16. Can they actually force us to pay tax on past cross border remittances? If so, how many years?
  17. Indeed, not wise to show yourself volantarily. I might look into changing my name????
  18. You're welcome. I do have allowances for kids at school/uni., old parents in law, charities, etc.
  19. All bank accounts pay interest. If they don't, it's a scam by the bank officer/s,, wherein they get the interest. I once managed to get a former Minister of Finance to look into why I was not getting interest with my bank account. After his team investigated, I and all the other foreigners immediately started getting interest. The bank worker pleaded with me to not press charges against her as she would have gone to jail.
  20. I never thought about that but assume it will be frozen. Then again, I could argue that I'm not living abroad. They could argue that I get nothing, as I am a foreigner!
  21. This is a Diplomatic statement, Thailand doesn't want to take sides. Neither side is innocent here. Similar to the Ukraine/Russia war.
  22. There were many. The PM, Paw Piboonsongkhram , was a friend of the Fuhrer and copied some of his Protectionis/Nationalistic ideologies. For example, he invented the 'food of the people' after Volkswagen, the 'car of the people'. This is named 'Phad Thai'. Also, the Thai Embassador to Germany was the last official 'visitor' the Fuhrer had.
