The Facebook page, โหดจัง จังหวัดภูเก็ต (meaning so brutal, Phuket province), shared the 13-minute video of the two foreign vandals on March 23.
“This completely dares the power of Patong police officers. Foreigners are not afraid of Thai laws. They even dared to spray messages on the footpath. Police, look at this. Do not arrest only Thais. This will ruin the image of tourism in the province.”
The video showed one foreign man sitting on a motorcycle, while another man spray-painted the letters H R D S H T on a footpath. The footpath was painted in white and red, indicating that parking is prohibited.
ThaiRath reported that the footpath is on Baramee Road in the Patong sub-district, Katu district, Phuket. Aside from the footpath graffiti, these two foreigners allegedly spayed a restaurant sign and other businesses at the spot as well.
Thai netizens commented on the video, calling on police to take action in the case. Many accused the police officers of only arresting locals and ignoring all the illegal foreigners.
“No more excuses! Take them to court and put them in jail. They must pay the fine to the Highway Department as the cost of removing the spray-painted alphabets.”
“There are patrolling police officers and CCTV cameras but nothing has been done.”
“The police always give up when they have money.”
“We have problems with foreign tourists every day.”
“What can Patong police do?”
Spraying, writing, or scratching walls or footpaths along public roads or public places will result in a fine of up to 5,000 baht according to Section 12 of the City Cleanliness and Orderliness Act. However, Khao Phuket reported that the Patong Police Station officers, who supervised the area, had not yet investigated into the case.

Not Hua Hin related but worth noticing that Mae Hong Son has no more flights from Chiang Mai, which should be fixed, as the town can be only be reached by 4 flights a week from bangkok via ... lampang (not Chiang Mai), what a stupid idea. The first flight from Chiang Mai was in the 50's and lasted until 3 years ago. Quite long to drive there but worth the trip

Hi guys.
I feel so sorry for my female friend, single mother 35year old in Buriram.Shes struggling make a living, but cant sleep because of her Acute rhinosinusitis, nosage block.
Been going on for months and the doctors remedy doesnt work much.
I wonder if there is any of you going to pharmacy once in a while that have seen a N-acetylcysteine (NAC) inhalation spray there and what its name is?
Read several studies that it may have profound help.
Best regardsMr Hello007=)
She can use a lota (it is a traditional tool for yoga) that she fills withsalted water (previously boiled) and rinse the nose and cleanse the sinuses. search for "lota sinuses and nose cleaning" on google .. it is painful while using it (when sinuses are infected) but it works. Anything else is just short time relief with no long time recovery effects. Her sinuses are infected and this is the only solution. Add one drop of eucalyptus oil to the water and shake well before using. It will help disinfect the sinuses and reduce sinuses pain while using the lota. also it will prevent inflamation of the optic nerve that passes just next to the sinuses.. this has to be done every day (two lota full of water ) for several months, several times a year for 2 years to treat the problem once for all. I see many thais using their menthol sticks, which, although widely used, are useless for treating their sinuses problem for real.

Possibly not be the best time to do visa run in Mae Sot. Someone working in Mae Sot at the border on Thai side reported yesterday lot of fighting on the other side of the Friendship bridge (border crossing) on Myawaddy side (Burma) as Cobra Colum (Karen Army and Burmese PDF) entered the town 4/5 days ago and are fighting against the Burmese military and police. Loud gun shots heared all day (so that's taking place quite close to the border crossing area). Many Thai army humvees patrols along the border all day long. In that context I don't know if the border post is open.

I am vaccinated and i caught the omicron variant last week. No symptoms. Countless people around me cought it and had no symptoms of at worst 2 days big fever, running nose, cough, but nothing fatal. A close friend, 74, caught it and had flu and fever, now he's better after 3 days. Vaccine doesn't protect AT ALL against the new variant. Herd immunity is the only way to get rid of it. Very few people die of it. Open borders and let people go everywhere. This is the end for covid. All these government should get over it and let life start again. Which will happen sooner than later.

Hi everyone,
i'm arriving in Phuket october 23. I might join a group distributing food to people there. By taking part financially and, importantly, helping distributing food. I might also organize my own distribution to people in the streets.
Thai people are amazing people, and deserve help in these hard times. i would be ashamed of myself by going there only for holiday purposes while so many are suffering.

We paid around 60,000 baht as an upfront package to include all the pre-birth checks and scans and she ended up having a Caesarean delivery (2015 at a private hospital in Pattaya).
Sorry to say that, but scar-esareans are the norm in Thailand. Even when not medically imperative. Girls prefer it (scared in advance to suffer and/or to have post delivery vagina issues). An habit encouraged by the hospitals (confirmed by a friend who is nurse in maternity). Easier, faster and more profits for the hospital. meanwhile they pay low salaries to the overworking nurses

thanks to all for your unvaluable help. I wish i were in Thailand now. Will be there in october at the earliest. Before deciding to sell (or rent year round) my airbnb condos in France some years ahead, I'll start prospecting places and begin with 2 months stays every 8 months, then 6 months stays or more, depending on many choices/factors that might play. I have a job i like in France, there is no hurry and it's not an escape from a place i don't like. But I love Thailand, life there and the climate. But I need to be sure if i can fit there for the long term. Cheers
"Invaluable" i mean, sorry for the mistype

Your best option is to obtain non o based on retirement. You would then obtain 12 month extension. Buy a reentry permit.
Time your visits that enable you to apply for your next extension.
Easily done and I would guess many use that plan.
Note it would need have money in Thai bank year round.
Also could look at non O-A that gives you 2 year stay if timed correctly.
Your money remains in home country. Good option for you.
Wow that looks like the best option to start things without blocking 800000 on a Thai account on the first year. It's not before 2023, so i have time to see things come (or change). Thanks a lot.

Thailand to track tourists with digital wristbands
File photo
The Thai government has announced plans to track foreign tourists using digital wristbands.
The new wristbands will be introduced from 1 November and will be used as a tool in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The wristbands track the location of the wearer and are also capable of measuring heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature.
If a body temperature over 37.5c is recorded, an alert will automatically be sent to local health officials.
The limited number of foreigners arriving in Thailand as part of the Special Tourist Visa program will be the first to wear the new wristbands.
It is not known how long foreign tourists would be required to wear the wristband.
The news comes as the Cabinet this week agreed in principle to allow foreign tourists and crew of yachts to enter Thailand under the Special Tourist Visa program.

It will just take way longer than a few months until everybody in the chain is affected.
1. A place which relies on tourists shuts down
2. The landlord doesn't have rental income
3. The property might be financed, he can't pay the bank
4. The bank claims the property and tries to auction it
5. Nobody buys it, so they will try to sell it for years
6. After a few years they realize that their asking price is too high and the property bubble might bust.
Then there are also places which were frequented by people who worked at places which relied on tourists. Because their customers don't have jobs anymore, they stay away, causing a similar chain of events as mentioned above, just with a few months delay.
Also don't forget that this was just the low season until now, people still had savings from the last high season and might be able to survive this low season. But now their savings are used up, and it doesn't look like there will be many tourists in this year's high season.
The real downfall comes next year, or in the following years, currently this is just the beginning.
