Just  got back myself 3rd visa in a row from there smooth and easy no proof of funds for Multiple O based on Marriage 

very quiet about 20 people total they were checking funds for other visa's the guy in front of me who was getting a Volunteer Visa did not bring proof of funds (a whopping 5000 Euro was required) but he went off and printed his bank statement  off from the internet and got his visa after showing the 5000 Euro

Other than that very smooth easy process

I have known this guy for over 12 months and been to his Bday party and on a few Bike rides and NOT ONCE has he ever tried to sell me drugs nor have I ever seen him doing drugs or any inclin he was doing them.

After his arrest we obviously talked about it and no one else was ever offered drugs either it was clear he was personally using them at home as none of us besides one knew he had a problem.

I am told it is not unusual for someone who smokes meth to use 10 Meth pills a day so when you look at 70 odd its not that much for an addict.

I understand your sensitivity to this matter and indeed he may be carrying a fake passport, though I don't think we know about that yet, either way.

In any case, if this guy is guilty, I think it's important that people should not unfairly demonize all people in Thailand who have any connection to Turkish nationality or ethnicity. I'm sure any such people who might be involved in this kind of terrorism in Thailand are a tiny minority.

Realistically though, I reckon that people with a Turkish connection here will be subject to some additional scrutiny and I certainly hope that isn't abused to hurt innocent people.

Thailand is FAR WAY from the "PC" universe and Thai culture has zero issues with PROFILING people based on nationality/ethnicity. That's the way it is here ... and foreigners are never going to to change the culture here in that regard.
