Have a look at Xanadu2008.
Not a huge pool, but adequate.
Very nice bungalow accommodation in beautiful surroundings. Extremely friendly and helpful owners and staff.
Fantastic and reasonably priced Western and Thai food in the poolside restaurant.
Also backs onto the river ........

Just ask him.

One of the many questions I have to the OP ( I'll stick to one for now) is, are you closer to Nam or your current girlfriend in AGE?
-
Tell me my worst nightmares are not comming true, what's wrong with them moving to Buriram instead, it should be mandatory.
As welcoming as we are here in beautiful Buriram, the Government cap on Thai / Western population ratio has already been reached for the Provence.
Sorry, we are all full up.
I did hear there are a few spots available slightly to the south of Pattaya in a liked name place called Pattani

Attach the correct sized photo or at least close to it. Not 4.5 X 3,5 instead of 4 x 6. I used a 4 X 5.1 and it was OK.
Thanks for clearing that up Joe.
I always like to cross the T's and . the I's.

I didn't miss it.I just did a retirement extension and re-entry permit application yesterday in Hua Hin with a 4cm x 6cm photo stapled to each application, and both applications were accepted with no comment.
Do you think that there was no comment from the attending Immigration officer you dealt with because the size of the photos you provided were exactly the size required on the forms TM7 and 8 ?
Or, are you implying something else here that I have obviously missed?
Well that helps Joe.
Any chance of being slightly more specific?

My daughter has one. No internet.
Received it about 5 months ago. One month after getting it, it was recalled for some sort of update ????
On return a month later it was accompanied by a letter which said that NO additional programs, apps, pictures or games are to be installed.
The letter also said that it had to be returned at the end of this school year, or she could keep it and PAY for it !!!
As basic as it is, it has been a good learning tool for her. However, it will be going back next year and i will get her something slightly more up to date.

Go to immigration in Angeles and they wont let you in the door.
20 years ago I heard the same tale about immigration here.
Thank you for those 2 totally irrelevant observations
I deal with Thai immigration (not Angeles) and have done so for the last 11 years.
Lucky I wasn't here 20 years ago, I guess
Now please excuse me whilst I change my Shorts that I have been working in the garden in for a another pair to eat in.

How does he hear the gunshot if he's a deaf mute?
What gunshot?
I am sure she cuts her wrist and the" sound" is her falling to the floor.

watgate, first things first, find out where in Buriram Province the family you will be visiting are located.
Then sort out you itinerary from there. Not much point in looking at hotels in Buriram if you will be visiting, for example, Na Pho.
Then again, you may be visiting somewhere like Lahan Sai or Ban Kruat districts. Both of these butt up to the border and not that far from Osmach crossing.
For the trip to Siem Reap. If your travel dates gel, there is a tour company that do 3 night / 4 day tours.
Have a look here http://www.buriramexpats.com/forum/index.php/topic,7350.0.html#new
They may also have other dates available.
Failing that, there will be a heap of taxis on the Cambodian side of the crossing to take you into Siem Reap.
Crossing the border is quite easy. Just remember to get a re-entry permit if you are here on an extension of stay.

I think the funniest thing is that you think this poor farmer is making millions.
I like the idea about creating a contract in front of the village head. You could get him to pay rent for the months that the rice was growing but that wouldn't be much more than 10k baht or so.
You could flood the field and destroy the crops or burn them.
You could hire a harvest crew to come in and harvest a week early.
make sure that you have paperwork that shows that your wife bought the land with her own money, because if this does become a legal battle, (If I understand the law right ) you are not legally allowed to give your wife money to buy land.
Obviously not

The statement on the website is known. However no problems are been reported getting a multiple non-O without showing financials.
NOT CORRECT I reported it early JULY that you now need to show funds
I used Savan Vegas July 3rd and was required by both Savan Vegas and the consulate that I needed to show funds ELSE NO VISA there is a new boss in town and the guy at Savan Vegas told me they did not require before but with the new boss they now will not issue unless you show funds.
I needed to show 400,000 in the bank when applying for a 1 year multiple O I just got mine beginning of July 2013 and needed to show proof of funds else they would not issue a multiple O
So ..... why / how did my friend I mentioned in Post # 12 get a multiple non-O with less then 100K Baht in his passbook that may, or may have not even been shown at the Consulate just 5 days ago?

A friend of mine used the Savan Vegas visa service 5 days ago to obtain a multi entry O.
They did take as one of the documents, his bank passbook.
What they didn't say, and he didn't ask was if they actually showed it as part of his package.
His passbook was showing funds of sub 100K Baht.

My wife watches them back home, like probably 30million other Thais also and I reckon if your wife called my wife a buffalo she would smack your wife clean in her face.Mine looking news, ASTV, the news from Democrats, sometimes a movie.
Never saw her watching a soap opera.
These people who watch all the time thai soap operas she compares with that lovely big animal with horns that worked on the rice fields in the past.
........ which seems to happen in just about ALL of the Thai soaps my Wife and Daughter (and sometimes I) watch

Kap Cheong never charged me (except of course the designated fees)... and I've never had unfriendly service from them.
Have you been of late?
I went 2 months ago and was surprised by the number of new staff. Plenty of different faces.
Like you, I have always had good service from this office.
They have hit me up for a "unscheduled" fee in the past (transfer of extension old to new passport) but still good service.
Last time however, there was a slightly less than friendly atmosphere to the place ????
Maybe just an off day? I will find out in about 1 months time when I do my next 90 day report.
-
Spoke yesterday to a friend who paid 2,000 Baht - 1,900 Bt for visa extension and 100 Baht to get his 90 day slips.
The immigration officer said "see you in 12 months".
As in more than one 90 day slip ?

A few posts off the mark.
Learning Thai before coming to Buriram is fine. As mentioned there are other local languages. There are actually more Issan Lao speakers than there are Khmer. You will find that nearly everyone will also converse in Thai. It most definitely is not a point of no one understands Thai.
The road from Buriram to Nang Rong is approx 50kms long. Only about 15kms of that is currently 4 lane. The rest is still 2 lane.
To the OP....Come up here and have a look round. Two good hotels that are not expensive are the Siam Hotel and the Grand Diamond. Both offer a deal for a month. Both will be well known to local transport.
Buriram bus station now also has 7 meter taxis, same type as in Bangkok.
Enjoy.
Apologies for the misinformation about the Buriram to Nang Rong road. What I should have said was "eventually, same same as the Surin road" And considering the amount of earthworks going on, it probably wont be too long either ???????
Buriram has 10 meter taxis. It was 11, but one is out of commission due to an argument with a cement truck.
And probably should not be called "meter" taxis as the chance of getting them to turn it on are south of zero

yes i had a sandman way back in 75 , green one it was always rockin
Long shot here kevvy .....in Sydney? Possibly Holsworthy?
Oh, and on topic ..last wedding I attended was jean shorts, leather sandals and a Buriram supporters t-shirt. I cant remember anyone looking at me twice
Sounds like you don't surround yourself with snobs who only judge you by what you wear.
Correct assumption hellodolly.
But I must admit that I do bow to tradition when attending Thai funerals.
I have one pair of black shorts for those occasions.
-
There is a need for trousers, it would certainly be disrespectful to wear shorts at weddings. If anyone disagrees with me, and that is their privilege, that's fine. Thai girls on the whole do not like men wearing shorts apart from on the beach, playing sports etc. Try turning up for a first date with a Thai girl wearing shorts, you that is, and see what happens.Don't worry plenty of people wear jeans to weddings when everyone else is more formal.
Obviously they didn't mind and know differnet people have different circumstances and you are a farang with no need for trousers in Thailand. Same as many Thais who don't use them for work.
Not only Thai girls.
Shorts are for farmers and such. The lowest of the lowest. Maybe children. A farang with shorts, not only at weddings, is just a clown or tourist. And that applies to other Asian countries as well.
12 years and counting ...NEVER wore anything other than shorts. Obviously not a Tourist, so I will have to put up my hand for being a clown then if I only have the 2 choices
Farang-Thai road accident and discrimination
