  1. @ sinbin.

Seriously, 1 computer on site and queue numbers don't seem to count.

"There were only 3 farang in front of my number, however, they accepted an agent bringing in about 15 " students " who were all processed before us. And it is true they only have 1 computer to work with."

Unfortunately I cannot name where the above came from. But it is a local to Buriram Forum.

  2. Try Wurth dry chain lube, if you can find it.

I got some off of Face book awhile back but haven't seen it advertised for awhile.

With that can just about finished i have now got some Wrap lube 71

Haven't tried it as yet, so cant comment on it.

Wrap lube 71 is readily available at many motorcycle accessory shops.

    Normal price is 390 Baht.

  3. ^^^^ Good color choice thumbsup.gif

Same here after finding out that the Himalayan pearl White CB500F front guard fitted straight on to the X.

A very cheap mod that (IMO) makes the bike look a whole lot better.

    Looks Good!

    <Damn!...now I need a white helmet too>

Do you recommend a higher windshield?

In my case a higher windscreen (Givi) fixed the buffering I experienced on the stock screen.

Assuming you have the 2016 model, the screen has been redesigned to address the buffering problems.

I have read that the 2016 screen is a vast improvement.

Try it on both high and low settings to get it where it suits you best.

You may also have to space it out at the bottom to get the optimal position.

  4. After renting several contenders, I've just ordered a new cb500x...

Any recommendations for a competent aftermarket shop in Chaing Mai that can supply & install:

    - engine & tank guard bars?

    - radiator guard?

    - side and top cases/racks

Anything else you would do (or check??) first up if you had it to do all over again?

Cant help with an aftermarket shop in Chaing Mai, but in regards to other mods .....

LOUD horn - Ali express / fleabay

Spotlights - Ali express ? fleabay

Center stand - June Moto and others on Facebook

Sprocket change, either front or rear - Honda Bigwing - see my previous post.

Good choice on bike thumbsup.gif What color scheme did you get?

  5. ^^^^^ First mod on mine was a sprocket change.

The bike has a very short 1st gear.

Many change out the front 15T to a 16T.

I did the rear on mine. 41T down to 39T.

The difference from the first ride is so noticeable.

    The rear sprocket I used was from a Honda NC700X (part# 41201-MGS-D70)

Available from any of the Big wing dealers @ about 1400 Baht.

  6. Buriram has a Great Town Square, Niteclubs, Bars, Dining, there's a cheap hotel in town center near this square, I forget name, Really enjoyed Buriram has a raceway too

That would be the Thai Hotel ..... http://www.thaihotel-buriram.com/

Just a short stagger or walk from the entertainment area,

Are there any good music venues other than Tawan Deang or Speed Disco?? (Which is also the same as Surin)

Scissors, Chinasia, Haircut and Wandang spring to mind. But I haven't been up that way for awhile.

There is a place called Tom and Jerry's, but not sure about music there.

Also a couple of others that change names often.

Guaranteed you will find something that suits.

  7. I for one will miss the Golden Bar.

Was in Soi 4 last night and just couldn't bring myself to go into any of the other bars in the street.

Ended up in the Australian Bar in Soi 11 to drown my sorrows, only to be "fleeced" of 140 Baht a small bottle of beer.

So it looks like a "Hooters" will replace the Golden Bar ....... coming soon.

I guess it could have been worse, might have been a McDonald's or KFC bah.gif

  8. Great OP English_M_in_Bkk thumbsup.gif

Dr John was definitely a man among men.

    Thai related?

    100%

A look at the track-side crowds show at least 7 Thais watching the various races.

OK, maybe the title should have been " RIP Dr John Hinds including footage of Thai spectators" to make it Forum correct and appease the pedantic nit picking of some.

  9. Yes.

    Patak road Karon beach Phuket.

    2002.

And right beside it was a Honda XL 650 Transalp.

I did take 'photos, but have no idea where they are.

My interest was piqued as I was riding a Kawasaki KLR 650 at the time.

I have seen quite a few more Transalps here, but no more Dominators.

    Edited because I cant spell
