  1. ^^^^ Good color choice thumbsup.gif

Same here after finding out that the Himalayan pearl White CB500F front guard fitted straight on to the X.

A very cheap mod that (IMO) makes the bike look a whole lot better.

    Looks Good!

    <Damn!...now I need a white helmet too>

Do you recommend a higher windshield?

In my case a higher windscreen (Givi) fixed the buffering I experienced on the stock screen.

Assuming you have the 2016 model, the screen has been redesigned to address the buffering problems.

I have read that the 2016 screen is a vast improvement.

Try it on both high and low settings to get it where it suits you best.

You may also have to space it out at the bottom to get the optimal position.

  2. After renting several contenders, I've just ordered a new cb500x...

Any recommendations for a competent aftermarket shop in Chaing Mai that can supply & install:

    - engine & tank guard bars?

    - radiator guard?

    - side and top cases/racks

Anything else you would do (or check??) first up if you had it to do all over again?

Cant help with an aftermarket shop in Chaing Mai, but in regards to other mods .....

LOUD horn - Ali express / fleabay

Spotlights - Ali express ? fleabay

Center stand - June Moto and others on Facebook

Sprocket change, either front or rear - Honda Bigwing - see my previous post.

Good choice on bike thumbsup.gif What color scheme did you get?

  3. ^^^^^ First mod on mine was a sprocket change.

The bike has a very short 1st gear.

Many change out the front 15T to a 16T.

I did the rear on mine. 41T down to 39T.

The difference from the first ride is so noticeable.

    The rear sprocket I used was from a Honda NC700X (part# 41201-MGS-D70)

Available from any of the Big wing dealers @ about 1400 Baht.

  4. So how to fill the requirement upon driving license now?

My name is entered into my wife's Tambian Bahn, as being father to our children. Would this do?

Perhaps you could get a yellow house book. Your name in the house book would not be enough because it does not say you are living there.

A letter from your embassy would be accepted.

Some people say a police station or the Amphoe will do one but the chances of that happening are slim.

If you were here in Ubon the drivers license office gives you a form that the tourist police stamp for you.

I guess it depends on where you live.

In Buriram, the Police are only too happy to issue one.

  5. you can connect your smart phone to the internet anywhere via wi-fi and update, read your mail etc even while you have a coffee in starbucks, just make sure mobile data is turned off and wi-fi on.its your phone that needs a wi-fi connection.

Thanks adammike .... that I understand already.

Much to the surprise of my few Facebook friends, I posted a picture of my lunch via the restaurants wi-fi today.

What I am talking about is the same thing, but in my house with an existing non wi-fi modem.

  6. Thanks guys ......

My apologies for the unclear terminology in my post.

The reason (one of them) I need a wi-fi connection between my new 'phone and my desktop PC is because I have set up the 'phones updates to be done by internet only. I am only using a pre-paid 12 call sim.

Also, my daughters smart 'phone is currently running off a neighbors connection (with their blessing) and I would prefer her to use our connection.

So it looks like a wi-fi modem is the go at this stage ......

  7. I have finally been dragged into the technological 21ST century with the purchase of a smart 'phone.

I now need to have a connection between it and my current desktop PC.

My desktop PC has a non wi-fi modem.

After a bit of reading I have come to the conclusion that I need 1 of 2 things to connect my new 'phone to my PC.

    1. A new wi-fi modem

    2. A usb wi-fi adapter

Assuming I have that part right I am trying to find out the following:

I guess that a usb wi-fi adapter would only work when the PC was up and running ?

I am thinking that a wi-fi modem, even with the PC turned off (but modem on) would still allow a connection to my 'phone ?

Am I even on the right track?

  8. Pretty sure you will find something if you just go up on the Thursday - might take some driving/riding around and searching for though.

    Correct.

There are probably 50+ resorts in and around Buriram that do not advertise on any of the booking sites.

I was going to make a project of naming / mapping / publishing contact details of them all for visitors to events like the SBK.

Unfortunately. I have to head back to Oz on Monday for a couple of weeks and wont be able to start until later.

An idea? Making a Sticky of Buriram accommodation.

Any visitors that come for any of these events and don't stay in the "advertised" places, add all the details to the Sticky.

If nothing happens before I get back, I will contact a Mod to see if its possible / feasible,
