  2. Does anyone have any current info on the Sala Daeng Intersection protest site?

I will be going to the Australian Embassy on Sathon Rd next week.

I normally get off the BTS at Sala Daeng and head North East along Silom Rd to Soi Sala Daeng (150 Mtrs) and turn right.

Are there any known "obstructions" between the BTS and Soi Sala Daeng?

  3. ... starting and ending in Bangkok.

Not required until September 2014 but thought I would throw out a few feelers early.

    Required for 4 (Large) people.

Itinerary would probably be Bangkok 4 days / Hua Hin 3 days / River Kwai 3 days back to Bangkok for 2 days.

Cost is not as important as quality of service.

Personal recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

  4. There is no need to have the money in the bank for 3 months.

It just has to be there on the day you apply.

Although one or two Immigration Offices do not seem to understand this.rolleyes.gif

Which Immigration Offices do NOT understand this, please?

Hua Hin Immigration is one such location.

Add Kap Choeng to the list as well.

A recent change in staff that seem to be oblivious to the contents of Police Order 777-2551blink.png

  5. No! There is absolutely no requirement whatsoever to IMPORT even one baht of your stated income letter income. This has NOT changed to be a requirement. There are grey areas in this report but if there was a national rule change to require that claimed income to be IMPORTED, we would know about for sure in some kind of grand announcement. That would be huge (and unwelcome).

Thanks that is good to know.

I have rental income in the US but never tried the income method.

Seemed easier to just put the required amount in a Thai bank.

But if you need not even bring the money in.......That is easier

Does make you wonder a bit though. Since I assumed the whole point is to show you

have funds here to live on. Hence the months of seasoning required for the cash method

    Ah well TIT wink.png

Slightly off topic as the OP dosent use this method but .....

Despite the very clear criteria shown in Police Order 777/2551 2.22 In the case of retirement: (5) Must have an annual earning and funds deposited with a bank totaling no less than Baht 800,000 as of the filing date I know of several cases where "seasoning" of the deposited funds have been required.

What makes it worse is that prior to a change of counter staff, this particular immigration office use to follow the above to the letter.

Anyone else heard of this happening?

  6. Similar to above but departing BKK to UK 2 year old daughter and Father only .......

I have an English friend who is leaving Thailand with his daughter. The Thai Mother is staying in Thailand.

The daughter has both British and Thai passports.

What, if any, documentation is required?

I remember in 2006 when I took my 9 month old daughter and her mother to Australia we were pulled from the immigration line and asked for something or other ?

A notation was placed in my daughters Aussie passport, but I cant remember what it was !!!

  7. Question #1: Makro in Buriram

    Question #2: Makro in Buriram

Thanks. Will check there for the coolers this week but not sure what you mean by question #1......you're saying they will purchase the mushrooms???

Short answer is YES. Makro (and others) have many local contracts for supply of various products.

If you can supply, and they require that product, they will start a contracting procedure with you.

It does involve visits to your "farm" to check for "regulatory compliance" and some paperwork, but not hard to set up.

A quick call to set up a meeting with the appropriate person should suffice in the first instance.

Take a Thai speaking person with you if you are not fluent.

    Good luck with it all.
