  1. I'm fairly sure the big embassies would want to continue if they could as these affidavits must be a big "earner" for them.

Say they do 5 a day, 25 a week at 1800 baht each time that equates to almost 200,000 baht a month. More than enough to pay a couple of clerks and a supervisor to complete a fairly routine task. The demands of Thai immigration must be too onerous to continue.

  2. I admit to being confused so can someone clarify for me. I own my condo in BKK, don’t have a yellow book,  I’m retired here with all the necessary paperwork, do my 90 day reports on time.

i go to the UK 2 or 3 times a year but have never reported my return to anyone, anytime. Should I be doing something or does the TM6 showing my address when I re-enter Thailand suffice? Thanks

  3. A friend of mine is visiting from the UK next week. He "smokes" e-cigarettes which I've read are banned in Thailand. However, I have seen people "smoking" them here and I'm wondering how the law is being interpreted.

For example is it illegal to sell or to buy them here ?

Is it illegal to "smoke" them here if brought in from outside Thailand for personal use only ?

Personal experience or intimate knowledge of the subject really appreciated.

  4. I've just moved into a new (to me) condo which has laminate flooring throughout. I'd like to lay some ceramic tiles in the kitchen area but don't really want the hassle of taking up the old laminate flooring.

    My questions therefore:

    Can it be done?

if so, what do I need to do to prepare the laminate flooring to accept the ceramic tiles? Sanding, bonding etc

What adhesive will best suit the job?

    Other watch outs?

    Thanks in advance
