More than 350 doctors and medical professionals have contracted Covid-19 in Indonesia despite the majority of healthcare workers having been immunized with Sinovac, officials said Thursday, just over a month after officials praised the shot for wiping out the disease among health workers.

Dozens of these were hospitalized, officials added, leading experts to question the effectiveness of the Chinese shot, particularly against the infectious Delta variant fueling the country’s outbreak.

I hope you are right but it does not look good.  Several reports that it is not doing well against the variants.  The majority of the cases here now are the UK and Indian variants.  Almost 90% the UK variant.

And it doesn't look much better in Chile where Sinovac is also the most used vakzin.

Regarding divorce I believe Thai law dictates everything that's been accumulated during in a relationship should be divided 50/50...simple. In practice I've no idea if it works.

Sin Sod is for the parents, so it can't be part of a divorce agreement. Khongman is for the wife and after the marriage it becomes her Sin Suan Tua ( own property) and will not count as marital property in the case of a divorce.

I don't know what calendar you grow your plants to, but longest day is June 20th, so harvest will be that + 8 (ish) weeks. So my friend tells me!

"For most cannabis strains, the flowering period will last about 7-9 weeks, although some sativas require even longer for their buds to mature."

So according to this info the Thai strain is a sativa and need longer. And by the way if you grow outdoor in Thailand I doubt that people will grow during the rainy season.

Nonsense, legal tender is legal tender, anyone who has them can exchange them.   The S$10,000 note was not originally issued just for governmental transactions, it was available and in circulation.

    Nonsense from you Louie:

Is the S$10,000 note usable in Singapore?

    Short answer - YES

Slightly longer answer - YES… its legal tender. But IIRC, you will no longer be able to exchange $10k or even the $1K note at the Bank nowa

days… the biggest note you could get is the $100 Note… heard its due to combat money laundering…

That doesn't alter the fact that the note was, and still is, legal tender as much as any other note and can be exchanged just as any other note can be, as demonstrated by this woman's attempt to exchange them.

    Not really

I said that it was still legal tender, you responded, "not really"!   If that's not saying it's not legal tender I don't know what is.

You did not say that it was stupid to try to change them but why would it be "stupid" to exchange (what could have been) a legal tender note?

If you want to change fake notes, is it clever to fake and change a note which never circulated? Normally you want to stay under the radar and what you really not want is to make the people in the bank suspicious. And how clever it was from the woman is obvious.

"can be exchanged just as any other note can be, as demonstrated by this woman's attempt to exchange them."

As a result she was arrested. Very clever.

And when the note in question is only used for intragovernmental transactions this note is legal tender but only between governments and not for normal people and fakers. So it is stupid to fake and try to exchange them.

Confused then.  Are you looking for a second one, bragging about what you have already found, or warning others of what to look for.

Confused too. Still waiting for an answer to my question.

But hey wine oh, life is full of compromises, isn't it?

It should every person's right to be tried by a jury of their peers.

    Some food for thought:-

Juries ensure community representation informs the weighing of evidence and allowing everyday perspectives to be incorporated into judging those accused of serious crimes. They ensure this decision-making is not just the province of elites (like judges) and keeps apace of changing community values.

Jurors in a trial also force transparency into the process by requiring evidence in court to be accessible to the average member of the community.

There are other advantages – in reaching complex decisions, 12 heads are better than one; gender and racial diversity are intrinsic, albeit imperfectly, in a jury mix; and, as jury deliberations require jurors to discuss, explain and deliberate, there is an airing and accounting of contrary views, in a process that reflects democratic principles.

https://newsroom.unsw.edu.au/news/business-law/why-do-we-have-juries#:~:text=Juries ensure community representation informs, apace of changing community values.

Lay person participation in the legal system is considered central to a healthy democracy. Lawyers play a major role in making the laws in parliament. Judges then apply the laws. If juries weren’t used, lawyers would have a monopoly over the law. Lawyers have their own specialised language in which they communicate among themselves. Including juries in the legal system forces lawyers to use common language.

It’s the collective wisdom of 12 that makes a jury. Jurors bring to the trial 12 times more life experience than a judge. Psychological research has established that personal, subconscious biases can be identified and addressed in group discussion.

    https://theconversation.com/all-about-juries-why-do-we-actually-need-them-and-can-they-get-it-wrong-112703

It's not a perfect system, nothing is, but juries are the best system we have.

Much like voting governments in is better than military coups. I'm sure you agree, no?

To stay on topic, what about the Thai judge that recently killed himself over the corruption in the justice system here? That alone should be ringing alarm bells.

    And here are the cons:

A jury can convict someone based on bias instead of facts.

Capital cases and violent felonies have a high rate of false convictions

Lawyers and judges come from a subset of society

A juror doesn’t need to reason their decision.

Some jurisdictions allow for a majority vote instead of a unanimous verdict.

It can take a long time for a jury to reach a decision.

Jury trials can create financial hardships for the people who serve.

They're still legal tender and S$10,000 is the biggest denomination, therefore easier to transport and more lucrative to exchange.

The 10,000 SDollar bill never circulated publicly which makes the whole story even more mysterious. Imagine trying to change one of them in a Thai bank.

How many copies of different documents etc?

How many times they want to see your ID card or passport?

How many telephone calls to HQ because nobody knows that such a bill exist?

Not really a good idea if you want to stay under the radar.

Perhaps the Thai authorities can retrofit the street food push carts with the cryogenic refrigeration needed for Moderna and Pfizer to reach all the remote villages.

    Not really true:

They can be kept in an ultra-low temperature freezer for up to six months, or for five days at 2-8 degrees C – a type of refrigeration commonly available at hospitals, Bencker said.

The Pfizer storage units can also be refilled with ice for up to 15 days, she said.

But shots will spoil in around five days at normal refrigeration temperatures of slightly above freezing. BioNTech CEO Ugur Sahin told Reuters the companies are analyzing if they can extend that for two weeks.

The vaccine of Moderna Inc (MRNA.O), which is working on a vaccine based on similar technology, does not need to be stored at such a low temperature.
