Squid
A young motorcyclist who overestimates his abilities, boasts of his riding skills when in reality he has none. Squid bikes are usually decorated with chrome and various anodized bits. Rear tyres are too wide for their own good, swingarm extended. Really slow in the corners, and sudden bursts of acceleration when a straight appears. Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible.
A real sport bike rider wouldn't probably ride his bike with only his drawers on, now would he? -
The battle continues...

Why not just stop. Unless you've done anything wrong, you have nothing to fear right (LOL, TiT)?
A few months ago, I was stopped at one of those random checkpoints as I was going to have the usual 90 day immigration office visit. Immediately, I reached for my license and my bike's papers from my backpack. I asked him in Thai what was the problem. He asked me why I did not raise the handlebars on my bike. I politely told him the bike was designed that way by experts, so they must have good reason why it is so. Why should I change it? Then he asked me if I modded my bike and I answered no (all the why while being tempted to answer back "Why? So you can extort money from me?") . Again I told him any mod will affect the bike's handling and I like the bike as it is. Then he started boasting about how he had an R1 back home and he was planning on getting a Hayabusa later this year. I answered politely that while I'd love to ride those bikes, I find it impractical to be riding one of those to work every week since they guzzle up lots of gas and my house is around 60 km from where I work. He agreed and he told that was why he was riding an old Honda Dream to work and he pointed at the blue bike right beside the booth. He then talked about wanting to get KTM Adventure or a BMW F800s. I just smiled at him and nodded as he was going on and on. Although my Thai pronunciation, I think I can converse decently in the language so never once did I answer him back in English. Finally, after 10 minutes he tells me to move along. I "wai" and say thank you, and go along my merry way, no fines, no bumps or bruises.:jap:
I wonder though, how could one lowly cop manning a checkpoint afford 800K+ bikes?
BTW, in case any of you are wondering I don't keep my license inside my wallet, although I keep it with my wallet.

Had mine as a late Christmas present this January, paid 74K for it. Ordered way back in November.

Any of you guys see the nice job Stadium did on their "CB250"?
This is, IMO, what Honda should have done in the first place.
No need to pretend this little thumper is a CB"R"; lose the fake "R" and all those unnecessary fairings and you've got yourself a nice little CB250.
Good job Stadium!
Indeed. Nice.

Crappy pic but I think the lenses are just smoked and not facing the wrong way
Yeah, they're definitely facing the wrong way, you can see part of the front side.
:D
Oh well, it still doesn't beat the orange coloured KRR with bicycle tyres I saw yesterday at Tesco Mae Malai.

LOL! why are those rear blinkers facing the wrong way? Tsk! tsk! tsk! another candidiate for the Darwin Awards (shakes his head in disbelief)...

Will this stand fit larger bikes like a cbr 400rr?
-
Also, is anyone aware of a paddock stand available for the CBR? Hate cleaning bikes that only have a sidestand.
K-SPEED sells these for 900 baht.
I think Fast Corner in Chiang Mai have some too...

Saw some at Big C last Saturday... my wife knowing I had an affinity for dirt bikes pointed it out with me. There was also an ATV for sale for 100K+ plus.
Did a quick visual inspection, not really impressed with the build quality (the plastic parts looked cheap).

I'm selling my CBR 250R ABS, please PM me if interested.
4 Months old, 3500kms
Pirelli Sport Demon Tyres
Frame Sliders
Triangular Exhaust (Loud)
Custom seat with an extra 1inch of padding, more comfortable and a tad more leg room
why are you selling it?
I think he's going for an upgrade, a Versys perhaps....

XRunner test ride...
I see duct tape!
BTW, isn't the exhaust a bit low for an adventure bike?
-
Wow, never heard of it, but seems this Honda XRE 300 could do quite well in Thailand-
Was crossing my fingers for something like this to come out, when the release of a new Honda 250 was still a rumor... The XRE would suit Thai roads well...
-
Perhaps a smaller version of the Crossrunner would do well in Thailand.
Not exactly a mini-version but will this one do?

KIes update available. Downloading it now. Hopefully, it contains the scheduled gingerbread update.

Honda Hornets are pretty rare in Thailand as they are grey imports but you do see them around. Finding one with registration and plate is quite difficult. My friend West recently sold his registered and plated Hornet 600 so they do exist. Good luck in your search!
Thanks!
I don't suppose West's bike was the one pictured... I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me something about this bike, it's got to be the only one with old Suzuki rear turn signals!
Red21, is that Chiang Mai airport plaza?
Thanks,
K
Yes. Robinson's Airport Plaza. Not sure if they still have it but it doesn't hurt to inquire. I remember I just came back from Dubai that time and saw a yellow one (probabably circa 2000 -2002) on my way home.
-
Try the Red Road bike shop diagonally opposite airport plaza. I saw one while passing by, but it was a long time ago.

Harley's are awesome!!!! All of the expenses with none of the performance. It takes some real skill to build a bike with an 1500+ cc motor that's as fast as a Honda wave.
Quote of the day, hands down...

Side Cases? I think the motorcycle would look better with them than with just the top box on...

I saw a couple of Honda Steeds for sale at the Honda dealership months ago, but someone told me they were refurbished not brand new.

A Fino faster than you off the lights? Your supposed to down shift to first gear while waiting for the lights to turn green. The CBR's shifting is really so forgiving, you could actually just release the clutch while twisting the throttle without worrying about stalling the engine or worse. Before the tach's (that's the big clock like thing in the middle of your handlebars) pointer hits the red zone, shift up to second.
Try to learn ride in the proper gear, riding a 650cc sport bike without knowing how to will have painful consequences...
