I rang Sinet at C Festival yesterday. Half an hour later a sales guy showed up at my place.
Had to pay 599 Baht for fibre optic15/5 MB (one month no contract) plus 497 for installation and router.
The next day, 3 technicians came and set everything up. Took them 2 hours though to get the desired speed running.
I am getting 16/6 MB most the time. Should it stay like that, I'll extend for more months.

This will never stop.

It shows again what kind of people the local Samuians are. Especially the younger ones, who think they rule the island.
The same can be said about Phangan and Tao. Sad to see a once paradise is destroyed by greed and macho behaviour.

Rain
in Chiang Mai
Agree, about 10 degree Celsius cooler now and clean air. Can even see the hills with out all the haze. Sun is back to a yellow color and will set that way instead of the last few weeks, when it was red.
Marvelous outside now
More showers tomorrow.

Here we go. Just another nice place that has been developed into a tourist attraction by the blindfolded, local authorities. Too many influental people in leading positions of local governments that have no clue.
Wrong people will always do wrong things.

Not a good way to attract retirees, etc.

I think I'd rather tongue a katoey than drink Chang

T.E. Thank you, very much appreciated.Wifey and I have seen this dog a number of times in the area of Soi 7 and where it meets Soi Thong Sai.
The reason that we notice her is because it looks like a sibling of our neighbour's dog. (Abandoned in our area 5 years ago.)
If we see blackie again we'll grab her for you.
Still no news regarding our missing Blackie. However, today there is an Email post today on the Samui SOS site from someone who is missing a Labrador in Plai
Lam.
I just hope that there is nothing ominous happening around here.
I hope so too.

Its one of the oldest hotels on Samui. Afiliated to Blue lagoon further up the beach. Swiss managment, nice beach, central location.
I give it 3 stars.

Agree that the cheapest way is a very simple green bus trip to Mae Sai. VIP bus/seating is the way to go and they even have a toilet onboard. Its a very doable day trip. Ive done it many times in the past but thankfully the retirement visa negates all the border runs.
Either a 6 or 8am start and then the later return trip (Say 3pm) from Mae Sai will see you back in Chiang Mai around 8pm.
Id also recommend getting a seat on the left hand side as the sun does get a bit too much on both legs of the journey.
As to flying anywhere else.... its going to be more expensive and as I havent done that I cant recommend anywhere.
Good luck and happy trails
