trump fired a commie! About time!

trumps got balls and brains. He knows how to take charge, make stuff happen, and make sure your team is up and running.

You leftys are going to have a long 8 years squealing like girls.

Yeah, well ... I sort of agree with you in general. I just hope he doesn't make a nuclear WW III (or would it be WW IV?) happen along with his other stuff that he's making happen. However, hope is a poor strategy or even tactic.

Trump is the President but if he was elected due to Russian interference in the election process or because any of his staff collaborated with the Russians to elect him- it is akin to treason. There is a constitutional crisis brewing and it's not going away until a Special prosecutor is appointed who has no ties to either party. Let the full truth come out so either Trump is fully cleared or there is evidence of wrongdoing and let the chips fall where they may. Stonewalling an investigation is not going to stop huge speculation of what did he know and when did he know it.

Until all is cleared he will have no real mandate to govern and this puts America in a dangerous position in which enemies can take advantage of the situation and any domestic agenda is stymied.  It's time for both parties to step forward and do what is right for the people and not their parties.

"It's time for both parties to step forward and do what is right for the people and not their parties." - Thaidream (if you get my drift).

What FBI investigation? Do you have proof of one that involves Trump (or one that doesn't for that matter)?

This looks way worse than the Chinese investors story.

Regardless of his involvement, this move at this moment makes it look like there is fire, not just smoke.

But Trump is demonstrating one of his traits - like it or not - he is going to play hardball, and to hell with "how it plays in the press". It comes from years of surviving in the cut throat business arena.

Now, if he could only use that in ways that benefit the country...

    Only by conspiracy theory freaks.

Why would Trump think that firing Comey would terminate an ongoing investigation where he was involved? Apparently there was not an investigation involving Trump underway. If that is the case where did the news (fake?) that Comey asked for additional funding to finance such an allegedly non-existent investigation.

If there actually were an investigation and Trump is lying about what Comey told him at dinner (there is no investigation), then the truth will out from the FBI sooner or later and Trump should know that.

I do agree that some of Trump's "cut throat business arena" experiences could be used to the US's benefit ... or deficit, now that I think about it. I'm not sure "cut throat" is what the US government needs to exhibit. Hasn't the US Government done enough of that already?

Whatever the true reason for the sacking, the timing of it is bound to lead to suspicion that Comey was on the right trail in the Russian investigation.

Donald tweeting about it also to me seems questionable. If it was strictly above board, he shouldn't have felt the need to defend his actions.

The truth in this matter needs to come out.

What "Russian investigation"? Trump has stated that there was not an investigation underway as told to him by dear, departed FBI Director Comey.

"We had a very nice dinner and at that time he old me, "you are not under investigation" - The Guardian - Video of NBC Trump Interview [link].

Which right trail would that be, pray tell (even if there had been an investigation)?

You can find multiple other sources for my claims just by reading the entire thread. I thought all of the above was common knowledge by now.  Happy?

I don't do MSM textual sources unless they have apparently unedited and not-out-of-context video of the person or persons in question. In fact, I rarely do a US-based MSM source at all these days. They are obviously working in collusion with the Democratic Party (or is the Democratic party working in collusion with them).

I specifically asked for video (of Trump stating ... whatever) and I'm not pawing through a stack of probably biased MSM articles of dubious factual value to find it.

But thanks a lot anyway. Maybe I'll paw through your stuff at my leisure. As far as I'm concerned, the MSM and their compatriots are doing everything they can to condemn Trump for anything they can contrive or exaggerate. Sure Trump makes mistakes, but firing Comey, regardless of the details of who did or did not recommend it was a good move, IMHO.

It's the other shoe to drop (McCabe) that may be interesting - if and when it drops.

I gave you a link to one UK newspaper article with a video of the Trump Interview with NBC. Did you watch it?

Can you remember that sage advice every time you and other Trump supporters mention Clinton when we are talking about Trump. Thank you.

Probably not. About the only thing I have in common with Trump is that I don't do Politically-Correctness. I also have issues with authority and censorship, in case you haven't noticed.

Anyway, which "Clinton" would you be referring to?

PS: I'm not a Trump supporter. I just hate to see someone (anyone) slandered and libeled.

  7. 44 minutes ago, heybruce said:

Not too many people are upset that Comey was fired, or will dispute that there was reason.  What is causing considerable comment is the timing, the absurd claim that it was about Hillary Clinton's e-mails, Trump first stating he was acting on the Deputy Attorney General's recommendation then retracting this statement and admitting it was his idea, his clueless surprise that people would object to him firing the FBI director when there is a major investigation of election interference by Russia that has implicated past members of his staff and election campaign, insider reports that Trump was outraged that Comey was not coordinating this "independent" investigation with the White House, etc.

You should clearly differentiate between your opinion, a news source, and the facts (although the latter two items are not easily distinguishable in these days of "fake news"). If I don't see what appears to be an unedited video or audio of statements by the individual in question then I don't give it much value unless the source is trustworthy.

Here's an example of the subject material in the NBC interview with Trump (The Independent article link below contains the video. As painful as it may be, it's probably a good idea to watch it):

"Regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey," Mr Trump, said in an interview that marked the president's most extensive comments since the firing of the former FBI Director, whom he referred to as a "showboat" and a "grandstander".

The Independent UK - May 12, 2017 (with video of the NBC interview) [link]

Before you respond to this, you should watch the NBC video interview with Trump on this matter. He says several things, but none of them resemble a "retraction", IMHO. BTW, Anyway, if it had been me I wouldn't have admitted I would have fired Comey regardless of any recommendations to do so (or not). This is waaaay too much and unnecessary information - typical of Trump. Maybe he was thinking we was protecting the AG and DAG or maybe he wasn't thinking and just running off at the mouth (probably the latter).

Also, I don't see how Trump could have been surprised about the firing because he says in NBC interview: "I was going to fire Comey. There's no good time to do it by the way". Fire him regardless of recommendation which Trump also states in the interview.

Can you find a reference to where Trump "retracted his statement and admitting it was his idea"?

And I'd like it as a video of Trump saying it, not some second-hand version without video.

    An opinion opposed to yours:

James Comey Deserved to be Fired - The Federalist - May 11, 2017

    Extracts from above article:

"At any point over the past nine months, prominent members of both parties have contended that Comey had to go."

"The overall appearance he creates as the head of the FBI has seen an utter collapse in that time from that of a respected independent career official to someone who is viewed fundamentally as a political actor who cares more about his personal image than the department he leads."

Read the article and tell us where it is in error, please.

In the meantime, the Acting Director of the FBI is Andrew G. McCabe. Maybe we should be focusing on him, since Comey is now history.

If one didn't have at least a high level of ego and confidence, they probably wouldn't have even run for President, much less tried to perform the responsibilities.

However, his predecessor exhibited and is still exhibiting exactly the same traits you're accusing Trump of having. I've seen the word counts of pronoun references to himself by the previous president in his speeches, have you? The counts are ridiculously high, if you hadn't been aware.

I'm shocked at comments about bike training! Seriously

Bike training will never stop the insane tailgating and deaths. The lack of proper engineered roads and systems is the real issue. If you put all the scooter drivers thru a monster training program and they attempted to follow the training the death rate would go through the roof. INFRASTRUCTURE is step one. Education and training step two. Regulatory compliance thru policing is step 3. When's the last time anyone has made a simple trip to a 7/11 and come up to a T intersection and can't see left or right because of a turn, hill, trees, signs, chicken wagon etc.

    Respectfully lets address

Road engineering? About 50% of the motorbike deaths are due to speeding and alcohol. So the roads should be engineered for much higher speeds and drunken idiots? What needs to happen is the out-of-control motorbike situation needs to be stopped forcefully in Thailand. Take their deadly toys away as they are obviously inherently too dangerous for them (Thai and Farang alike).

Give them an improved INFRASTRUCTURE and they will find even deadlier ways to mis-use it. This is probably why motorbikes are not allowed on the freeways.

About 3 years ago I was riding my 200cc Honda Phantom in Nakhon Sawan. I had stopped at the lights which were red and I was #1 at the white line.

The lights turned green in our favour so I rode off. Out of the corner of my left eye I saw a pick up run the red and turn right in front of me. I turned right as hard as possible and banged the throttle wide but the Phantom has the acceleration of a centipede with 37 broken legs.

The pickup hit me under the saddle where my ass was just missing my left leg (fortunately) throwing the bike to the right and me like an ejector seat off the bike up and over to the right also. The bike bounced off the road onto the left side and the rear crash bars took the impact. I clearly remember thinking that this will hurt me. It DID.

I was wearing gloves and a helmet which certainly helped but I bent my right wrist a bit, had a few scrapes on me but overall I was pretty much OK .

The pickup finished its turn and stopped a few metres up the road. It was driven by a little old lady with her sister in the front seat and a grandchild standing between them (truly).

Fortunately for me there was a police box on the junction and a cop outside saw it happen so it definitely wasn't my fault. He helped me clear the junction  and bend the handlebars straighter so the bike was rideable and somebody in the box called the police station wh sent a captain down to take me and the little old lady to the cop shop.

In the end there was a conversation between me, my wife, the cops, the little old ladies and the hordes of their family that arrived  and they paid up in cash and I rode my bike 125km home, left hand down and back and right hand up and forward having phoned my wife and told her that I thought I could make it but I would call for help if I needed it.

The really good news was that I had dropped my farang mate off 10 minutes before the crash or he may have had his leg smashed or with the extra weight of him on board it may have been my leg smashed.

You don't even have to do anything foolish but can still be involved in a accident.

I am 73 in a couple of weeks and I still ride a bike but I am NEVER the first one over the line any more.

You were very lucky. Had a motorhome get through my defenses once in Oakland, CA at an intersection. He was coming right at me and ran the red light in a left turn lane so it was difficult to predict. I was hanging back from my red light and still rolling when it turned green. His excuse: I was going too fast to stop!

One should not enter an intersection unless one owns it. That is it is literally impossible for someone else to hit you - there aren't any moving vehicles that could enter the intersection. Of course, this is true for entering lanes as well.

I see pedestrians all the time standing on the median waiting for the light to turn green as they've walked across the intersection against the red to save a few seconds walking but risking getting hit by an out-of-control vehicle.
