  1. Thanks so much to both of you for replying.

So sorry to hear about your loss mistitikimikis, I am also worrying about that. Maybe I should have a door installed at home to keep them separate in the different floors until they are well for neutering them. If one of them die I could rather die as well :-(

  2. Thanks Sheryl.

I forgot to say I would prefer if they could speak English and open on weekends. I am quite busy during the week so I need to do the visits on weekends or night time. The current vet is open 24 h and that's very convenient for me. I also heard good comments about Chula uni vet but only opens during the week and daytime.

Location is not a problem, I will go anywhere in Bangkok.

  3. Hi all there,

I have 2 kittens about 5 and 4 months old, maybe a month older. One of them developed pneumonia and was diagnosed via chest x ray. She acts normal except she lays on the floor more than normal, have very fast and shallow breathing and doesn't want to eat too much. Shehas become very skinny so i am feeding her wet food. The vet gave her antibiotic for 7 days and he said she improved but I don't think so.

Now the other cat (male) is showing symptoms as well, just difficulty breathing but eats and does everything normal.

I also asked to neuter them and I was told they need to be 8 months old, which is bullshit. I cannot afford to take care of a lot of kitties, and they are both very close to start being fertile.since the female is that skinny I would probably spay the male first to avoid risks.

So can anyone recommend a good cat veterinary in Bangkok? I need second opinion about the pneumonias and someone who will spay them.

    Thanks a lot

  4. You should probably add "and if you get caught I hope they will hang you up or put you in prison for life for all the damage you caused to society"

BTW the news is strange: From the multiple post about testing for drugs during the day in the street, I understood it is perfectly legal for the cops to perform those tests. Yet they say the owners and customers of night venues will be subjected to tests, wasn't everybody?

  5. I would say it's a scam unless the girl is stupid enough to go to an illegal clinic.

The tests are cheap and abortions can be legally done by clinics like cabbages an condoms on sukhumvit for 1800 baht + 300 for the first checking.

  6. tonight I saw something that left me with a bad feeling.

I was in a taxi with the gf, we were going south of klong toei to a birthday party. In one of the sois we saw a group of around 7 kids, some of them with m/c) rounding another kid still wearing the uniform school. At the moment I clearly saw this was pure bullying. The poor guy was in a 200% submissive attitude and the others verbally abusing him.

Now I am thinking if we shouldn't have got out of the taxi and recriminate their actions, however I worry now as I worried then when for a second gave it a thought and was afraid they could carry some knife.

On a parallel thought. I am shocked every time I presence something like this or I watch some news or videos like, recently, the cop relative hitting 2 girls on a van or the sick people in a store hitting crazily another 2 girls. I love the people here and I truly believe a huge % of them are good people and that's why, probably, I am so impacted with this kind of events. Not that it doesn't happen in the west :-P

I just thought I wanted to share it ^_^

  7. depends of coarse on the individual, you cannot say a thai does this, or thais feel that.

If it was the case that all thais were by nature the same, just close your eyes step outside and pick a woman after all if there all the same it should not matter right.

some are looking for walking welfare checks as you are trying to indicate through your disgustingly rude and ignorant semi rascist thread, others do love there man, god help mine if she isnt in love because i have never had much in the way of money to offer her, had to borrow money from her parents 4 times in the past.

you know you post is really rascist and rude.

we look after each other, she never walks around with her hand out.

You may have read it all wrong. Nothing racist or rude about it. It's about different cultures, different upbringing, different priorities in life.

In a nutshell: Love in europe is more associated with "romance". Around here it's more associated with who is a good "provider" and who is not. Farangs can make extremly good "providers".

Once a farang has established a good track-record as a reliable "provider", he has much love coming. Until.....

    Cheers.

you just said it, you just confirmed it, you wrote he has much love coming until.

like the ts its insinuating they are all out for mainly the money, and again you like him are putting all thais in the same square.

that is an insult to thais in any language.

How come you are so sensitive about generalizing when talking about thais but not about farangs?

Of course everyone is different but there are many things in common, specially if you generalize by area, gender, etc. Actually you should have been pissed off by the guy putting farangs in the same bag when we come from so many countries and cultures as opposed to Thai people

  8. I live near Fortune Town mall. Since around half a year ago they have put sets of recycling bins (paper, plastic and cans, and electronics). Crossing the road there is also Central Rama 9 where they also have put this kind of bins.

I asked some time ago here and someone told me it was poasible to dispose electronics in some amphurs and in some universities as well.

Thanks for doing the right thing Sandeep :-)

  9. Excuse my ignorance, but what is so good about a community feeling? I come from a place where there's not such feeling, and to me it looks fake. I only expect people to be nice but in no way I want to socialize too much with them just because they are my neighbors or things like that instead of for being interesting people.

I just moved to a townhouse and was nicely surprised our neighbour talked to us very friendly. She came back from Chiang Mai after new year eve and brought some oranges for us. Now that is something I appreciate. Specially since I still can not speak much Thai yet. I will definitively bring something to her on our next trip.

Whats good about it is that instead of being happy about 1 person being friendly and bringing you an orange , many people would be doing that ...... People are saying a real sence of comunity is a good thing ....... I don't think a fake sense of comunity is what they were refering to ...... It's like saying a Rolex is a nice watch, and you saying that you bought a fake one and it's a peice of junk ..... not especially relevant to the topic.

I am so sorry about not being relevant, please let me live.

Back on topic, I think most of that 'real' community is people like to gossip and community is the perfect excuse for peeking on other people's life.

  10. Koh Phayam off of Ranong cheaper than Lanta an much more laid back

Better water off the west coast. than koh Tao

koy lanta 4 hours south of Phuket

Ranong is 4 hours north easy 7-8 bus from Bangkok or u can fly to Ranong and than speed boat out

Not sure when u were last in Lanta but its not cheap anymrore

Thanks, will check. BTW I've stayed in Lanta just 1 year ago last time. It's not that cheap but still can find a nice hotel for less than 2000 baht per night.

why does it need to be an island? beach=beach, at least for me, and for a island feeling-as ts only acccessible by boat- try Railay-just off Krabi town. Plus you should have stated more clearly how far you are willing to travel from airport.

Thanks, I will check it too. Maybe I am wrong but I feel in-land beaches tend to be overcrowd as opposed to those in islands. Anyway I am open to listen about non islands as well ;-)

You are right about me not providing enough info. Since I am going to spent just 3 nights and will be flying there in the morning, a place under 2 hours from airport should be the best choice.

  11. Hi there,

I am currently living in Bangkok and I am planning to spent 3 nights on some island in the south on mid-end January. I've been many times in Koh Lanta before and I like the place, though is a bit of hassle to get there from Krabi airport with the 2 ferries.

I am looking for some recommendation on an island with nice beaches, preferably cheap, with some bars to drink something at night but not crazy parties. I've been in Pi Pi before and, although the island itself is beautiful, I didn't like it because of the so many tourists and the parties at night. Something like Lanta but with easier access and cheaper accommodation would be perfect.

    Thanks!

  12. I didn't see that particular video but for your description sounds like an accident which happened in China some time ago. Could it be?

No it isn't, this one is definitely from Thailand from 12/12/12. The only one I remember from China is the poor little 2yr old which was run over in a market, the driver then reversed over her again. She died a few days later from her injuries but not sure what happened to the girl in the link I posted.

Just watched it. I can't understand how the driver hits the bicycle, maybe he was falling sleep. I am against death penalty, but for me this is one of those cases which could use it. Not for the accident itself but for not even stopping. It's outrageous, this is not a human being.

  13. Isaan girlfriend says her family spent between 20-30k for her older brother party. They brought a mor lam band, alcohol and food for almost the whole village, rented a car to drove the new monk around the village and to the wat, and bought clothes for the monks and so on. The family recovered less than 10k with the envelopes.

  14. The Diazepam found in the room mixed with alcohol gives a strong high. If the body is a bit dehydrated it is very easy for clogs to form in veins. Although the report don't say if they found alcohol in the room.

What a load of crap! Diazapam is well know as Valium. It's not a strong drug. There wasn't any mention of milligram dosage. Yellow are 5 mg and blue are 10mg. Unless they took a lot of blues and drank a liter or more of whiskey each, there's no way they died from an over dose of valium.

I know what diazepam is as I had taken it for 15 years. The drug itself it's not dangerous and almost impossible to die by overdose. However when you mix it with alcohol you lose control and do things you normally wouldn't. I had a psychiatrist some time ago who had a heart attack and almost die because of taking diazepam and drinking whisky (and it was just a few glasses not a litre)
