  1. One thing I'd like to add. When Chalerm produced this man on Thai TV news, he was very friendly with him. arm around the shoulder, encouraging him and generally very 'matey' and supportive. Just seemed weird a deputy PM being this friendly with a bomber. Instead of bringing the wrath of god for wanting to kill and main Thai citizens on this man, he was sort of saying 'aww don't worry it'll be alright'.

Bit like GW Bush shaking Bin Ladens and ans saying "He's okay" Just weird to watch on TV

I cannot agree more. Looks like Chalerm was giving the criminal a pat on his shoulder.

  2. He once told the public that he has quit politics and started to play golf. He had to leave Thailand because he was still politically active. In many other occasions he also said things he never meant to keep. How do people still believe him? In fact politicians' words are never meant to be taken into account anyways. ALL politicians.

  3. There's always passengers in trouble who are willing to pay that 'higher' fee. As long as there are these people, the price will keep going up.

" take me out to the 'pak soi' my cat is sick, here!! take 3000 baht. No one needs to know"

The boat operator thinks to himself: Yess!!! Why should I take those 50 baht passengers when just a couple more hours wait will get me a 3000 baht passenger.....

"Hey guys, we need to group up and gang up on those charity operators! Make sure ALL passengers are in strife! That way we ALL benefit!! this is a one time opportunity to make big bucks!!"

Threaten all you want, POLICE!! Who's the fool?!

  4. If anyone wants a reformed Thailand, we should try to have a steady government. Since Abhisit showed his sincerity to have a transparent election, the outcome already shows. So let that be the result that also show Thai people that this is the chosen path. Unless there is foulplay, we should put up with it for the remaining of this term unless something else arises. We are Thai people, Please dont show the world that we are uncivilised.

Uncivilized is the least of your problems. How about ill-informed, gullible, corrupt, vote-selling, venal to the point of accepting a kleptocracy as long as I get a windfall, etc, etc,..........

Admitting to making a mistake would be one small step for democracy, one giant leap for Thailand.

Thank you. 'Uncivilised' is the biggest of your problems not to mention 'ill-informed, gullible, corrupt, vote-selling, venal to the point of accepting a ' kleptocracy ? ( did you hear this word from somewhere?)' as long as I get a windfall, etc, etc,..........'.

I don't favor both the reds and the yellows, and I don't think you match up to either one of them.

I will not be visiting this article anymore if you might be having fun. As for me, I just posted my point of view with no intention to waste my time debating with you.

  6. How hard can it be to independently check the price of the content of the bags? Oh right, I forgot, all the bags have been given away! What a joke. Didn't Froc keep records of what they bought for how much? They should or how will they even prove how they spend the money. Well, maybe they "lost" these papers during relocation from DM airport :-)

And why are the volunteers upset by the accusations? Nobody was blaming them! It is the guys buying the good receiving the kickbacks.

    OOO

SPOT ON! If they have nothing to hide they should have papers to show what was contained in the bags and how it adds up. Thats all. Regardless of what was donated or mixed. They shouldn't even have talked about donated items. One can easily say that they didn't even spend the money on relief items. ALL that was passed around was donated.!

  7. Anyone living around Lardphrao Soi 1-15, if your house is on low grounds, you might go check out the parking lot across the street from Caltex, between Thai Farmers and Siam Commercial. That accommodates approx 15 cars. and it is on rather high ground. ( I wonder why no one thought of that, and chose to leave their cars on highways.) If worse comes to worst, I would say only your tyres may get soaked.

  8. China will do everything and anything to defend it's commercial activities. If a few Chinese tourists died, it would be a totally different story. But when merchants die as a result of seeking income, their big brothers will expose their true aggressiveness. Thailand SHOULD be afraid. Thailand SHOULD be VERY afraid. Right or wrong, Thailand was, is and will always be ready to sacrifice righteousness and the innocent to maintain peace and good relations. But when it comes to Thai sovereignty, we are mean mothers too!!!

  9. When there is no better solution, this is probably the best. There will be good and bad results from this move. It will discharge the flood quicker, levels will be lower and there will be no mass evacuation. The bad part is that everyone will be affected. There will be no special considerations for ANYONE. Most of all, an excellent negotiator will be needed to neutralise the citizens severely affected and people who lost their livelihood from the start.

  10. We can turn an inevitable disaster positive. Make it a national new year so people can go home or go holidaying where it is not affected. It will be good for all industries, relieving the tourism industry during new years, the power industry, when demand is low, and most of all, each of our own pockets, because we wont have to pay too much for high demands!! cheaper hotel rooms and cheaper electricity costs..!! and for those who like water recreation, its an excellent time!! tide is right for fishing, waterfalls are not dry, and wind is excellent for surfing! When alls returned to normal and when tourists come rolling in, we'll all be recharged to provide the best service and show off what Thailand's got to offer.
