Oh, go on, make it a holiday. There are only about 20 of them at the moment.

Lucky escape for that tuk-tuk driver. This total crushing is what I've always thought would be the result of any heavy collision.

Ah, the "causing misunderstanding" response! Second only to the "causing confusion" response. The public must be protected from any message that is not the official line, the poor dears.

Did she get the money back? I didnt see that. Maybe she got nothing back but was finally given a receipt for the bail.
Dont know what happened to the 2000bht police taxi though. Would be nice if someone who knows the frenchman could enlighten us.
Read between the lines. Of course the wife got handed a wad of baht behind closed doors, after agreeing to say publicly that it was all a misunderstanding.

In a market? Small chance of that. Same reported from many other markets.
The lack of logic is astonishing. Beaches must remain closed. Markets where people bump into each other, is ok. Good planning and logic. Again.
Exactly my sentiments. Perhaps the "logic" is that Thais are nuts for markets, whilst it's largely farangs who want to go out on the beaches. So Thais can be appeased but farangs must be punished.

Can Thai MPs be asked to deal with their constituents' complaints? I didn't know that.

Why the 2nd Jan not the 1st ?
The 1st was a holiday. But why that should matter I don't know.

And if you've overstayed, what then? A fine, jail time, what? Enforced by who?

It's plain to me that Thais are ill informed about the best anti-Covid measures. The great majority think that wearing a mask is the best thing and only thing to do. I see this every time I go out and it was especially evident at Fortune Town mall yesterday where nobody was keeping distant from anybody except where they had to when sitting at banks and True and AIS outlets.
The government is hugely failing on this matter.

Idiotic and abusive enforcement of the lockdown rules. On-the-spot fines of 1,000 or 2,000 baht and sending home would be completely adequate in these circumstances, but you can't expect Thai laws or Thai police to be sensible.

Idiotic American presidential election system. Electing a national leader state by state is totally illogical, especially given the electoral college aspect. Name me another major nation that elects its leader this way instead of simply counting the total nationwide votes, which is the ONLY fair way to do it. Look to France for how to do it: a first round with multiple candidates, then a second round two weeks later with a run-off between the top two, both rounds counted nationally.

Where it says "department stores", it clearly means malls. And then it should add department stores to the list, because it's only logical they'll be shut too.
Vocabulary:
department store = one big store with many sections, e.g. Robinson, Central, etc.
mall = one building containing many small stores, e.g. MBK, Emquartier, Paragon

So the big malls and their shops pretty much remain closed another month??? With the limited exceptions of some types of shops listed above.
Yes. They say department stores but they clearly mean malls.

For god's sake, leave him alone and let him have a clear run at Trump! That's the only thing that matters now.

Once more, what they're going to do, but not when they're going to do it. Thanks a lot.

I make that 4 routes, there and back, which is the only sensible way to count them.

and if one is thrown or pushed from an 8th floor balcony... how do they manage to enter the balcony one floor below .. ?
It depends on the construction of the building, I suppose.
