Admirable sang-froid on the part of that lady. Many people would have crashed.

This is the perfect place for a downtown live theatre and concert venue. But it just shows Thai priorities and Thai culture that there just wouldn't be enough interest for such a great addition to Bangkok's city centre. It'll be demolished, no doubt, in favour of something retail. Consume, consume, never think.

So he'll resign. No, I thought not.

You obviously haven't watched anything on how the droplets travel from the mouth when talking /sneezing or coughing , they travel straight out for some distance and if your wearing a face shield they will hit and drop straight down as has been shown in tests .
Exactly. Face shields are excellent for stopping infected people from ejecting the virus far outwards. They also protect the eyes from infection by other people. They are extremely useful, in fact, if you think about the means of transmission of the virus. Ignore this foolish official.

"most destinations"? Not. No foreign destinations are mentioned.

Darwin award.

Absurd. Just test all those who enter and quarantine those who are infected.

No contract tracing, I note, unlike the unworkable rules now applied in Thailand. Lucky English.

Its no different to any where else in the world I have been!
Rubbish. People in great European cities go to parks, museums, galleries, historical sites and other places of leisure in droves. The Thais don't because these places largely don't exist and because they'd rather do mindless things like shopping in malls anyway.

Quote: "The rapid growth of the city has left Bangkok with almost no space to create a public park as land is too expensive to nurture green or public areas."
The land is not too expensive for the Thai billionaire class, especially the top one, to do the good deed of creating public parks. But philanthropy is not a trait of these people.

Of course he cannot get insurance that is well known for a 75 year old.
If he is a "pensioner" he should have some money and I presume some health coverage in his home country.
It seems irresponsible for him to stay here if in poor health, and potentially being a further burden on the medical care services here. To add, what kind of care is he going to get here if he is truly sick, needs to be hospitalized and continues with his "I have no money" theme.
He should do the right thing especially for himself and go back to his home country.
Suicide is better than going back to a cold wet home country and living in a grungy hostel on welfare.

Indeed, but the planet is not doomed, just humanity along with all the species we will exterminate between now and when Gaia finally gets rid of us. The forests will return to cover the earth, the oceans will recover in time ( even plastic will dissolve in a billion years ), and another species will emerge to become dominant. Rinse and repeat till the sun expands and melts planet earth.
I count myself fortunate to have been born at a time when medicine and technology made my life better than ever before, and I count myself to be fortunate that I shall ( hopefully ) pass over before it really turns to deep doodoo caused by just too many people.
It's too many people PLUS bad economic policies that are causing the planet's devastation - but I'm with you on being happy to exit before the doodoo really hits the fan..

It's much worse than that: the idiot Bolsonaro actively encourages Amazon forest destruction, besides being an all-round cretin on everything. Imagine a leader worse than Trump and here he is.

And the food chains said they wanted to get ethical, but your food would cost 25% more?
That's perfectly OK by me. To ensure a healthy planet, we must make economic sacrifices. For me, the trade-off is excellent, and I'm on a very low income, please note. For you, perhaps money is all.

Exactly. Unfortunately.

Pah, 5 years overstay?! A friend of mine racked up 10 years and then decided he wanted to go back to the US. Speaking excellent Thai and with a good lawyer, he negotiated a fee of 20,000 baht to be let go. And in a few years he came back and is still here, legally.
But this was the 1990s, another age in immigration terms.

It makes the chances for 45 to win re-election and avoid prosecution for the crimes for which he is already an unindicted co-conspirator much lower than they already are, so 45 is scared he will spend the rest of his life in jail. Additionally (Google is really good in this way) it means that none of his arguments to avoid making his tax returns available, which will expose him for the fraud he has been his entire life, plus reveal what's in [a certain EU bank's records] regarding the off balance sheet SIVs that were used to provide 45's financing for his underwater business assets, and he will be roundly humiliated.
Hope so, I dearly hope so. For the good of the whole world.

MICE visitors welcomed first? To congregate in meetings? Great idea. I would have thought they should be last on the list.
