I get 37 baht for the ride, but I have to pay over a thousand to replace the shock absorber. If I see a heavy person, I am no longer accepting. Absolutely not!”

 

These remarks violated the sensibilities of many online, with netizens perceiving them as bullying and disrespectful of the overweight customer. The shared comment and photos increasingly painted the driver negatively, attacking his professionalism and empathy reported KhaoSod.

It is probably being done to force the informal economy to use banks for payment processing since the government already can closely monitor banking transactions. Perhaps current laws aren't sufficient to allow regulators or other government departments to monitor transactions that don't involve a Thai bank. Putting a bank in the loop may give such oversight.

 

Could also be outsourcing KYC to entities with more resources and credibility with the government.

One safe way, but more expensive way, is to use an "electric room heater".  Search Lazada for what I put in quotes and you will find a number of them for offer.  A decent Heier electric heater for 20 m² is about 3000 Bt, and of course the electricity costs more money.

power is cheap here, i have an electric heater and a gas heater , used it for past 25 years when needed just leave windows open a little
