  1. I have been here for 11 years and sure I eat noodles, (don't use baht buses) etc. and I live on SSCC and have driven there today to look actually. Like I said before, look around.

I'm not sure why you are being belligerent to me when I'm only trying to help you as a long time resident here and have seen just about everything in these "House buying games."

I also put down a 300,000 baht deposit on a "NEW" house where the village was still in the construction stage but when My home was finished the office had moved into my " NEW" home and the workers were living there at night, swimming in MY pool and cooking in MY kitchen. Grease all over the walls. I took video of all this and pictures at 7:00am and went to my lawyer and guess what.....when I told them my contract was to buy a NEW house not a USED house guess who lost 300,000 baht?

Sorry for trying to help you but next time you come on here looking for advice maybe you should take the good with the bad?

Anyways good luck getting any more help from my 11 years experience.

Off to the noodle stand now on a baht bus.

Oh aren't we brittle. Look at your post to me, it was a very much look at me I am the expert and you was addressing me as if I was some kind of fool to even contemplate paying that amount of money. I've been here TWELVE years and have also looked around and I haven't seen anything for this value. A brand new 3 bed 200 sqm condo land size 320 sqm on a brand new development in a good location for 4.5 is a very reasonable price, I have seen some houses for 6 mil which don't even come close. Just because you have been here a long time doesn't make you an expert on everything, come down a peg or 2.

    Enjoy the noodles.

So seems you don't need advice? Why did you make a post then?

Please point out in my original lpost where I was asking for advice? I was just asking if anyone had been over there. Shame that have had to resort to lying to try to win an arguement.

Anyone else been to look or have any views on this project.

Sounds to me as request for advice

The deposit that is required for the house you're talking about looks to me as 3 times that amount of money.coffee1.gif
  3. I have been offered the Note at 19.700 Baht new in the box.Seemingly a grey import as it comes with worldwide warranty.

Some people say that samsung will not honor the worldwide warranty, while I consider that Thailand must be part of the world, sometimes they even think they are the world.

So what are your thoughts,or knowledge about worldwide warranty. Will it be honored by Samsung Thailand or not.

i would be careful with a grey import ,before they started work on my cracked screen (GS2 ) ,i had to wait 24 hours to get an engineers report

s/n was entered into the computer and i had to tell them where and when it was purchased

(AND THIS WAS A REPAIR I WAS PAYING 4300 FOR ,NOT A FREE WARRANTY REPAIR !)

if they choose not to repair it in thailand ,what you gonna do with a 20,000thb brick ?

someone already said Samsung USA refused warranty on his thai phone ,so just send it back to thaialnd etc

how much does that cost for fedex each way ??

I'm not so sure if Samsung Korea shares the same thoughts as Samsung Thailand in this case.

As for the Samsung USA refusal is quite normal I guess as the Thai phones come with warranty that only covers Thailand and which is clearly stated on the card.

For the Note I'm talking about is on the card written worldwide warrantee.

I have been today to the Samsung service center in Pattaya and asked the question, and after some time they showed me a big poster with in Thai and English was written that if the unit was not bought in Thailand that Samsung Thailand reserves the right to charge a service fee of 1000 Baht for warranty claims.

I think I will write to Samsung Korea and ask the question there.

  4. there is a photograph of a document, unfortunately it is in a language I can't read (not Thai)

If it is in a roman language you can just type he text in google translate.

  5. I thought they already had the budget for 900,000 tablets? Why are they asking for money for 400,000 more?

The first budget has already been pocketed earlier and now they need more money for pocket and actual tablets. It will eventually come out, it will just take time and the PTP supports need a few days to get up to speed for the rebuttal.

I recall this to be the second budget rise in less than a month. One thing that catches my eye however is that each budget rise is bigger and those Chinese tabs will soon be valued higher then a Ipad.
The Education Ministry expected to acquire the first batch of 150,000 Chinese-made tablet PCs in late April, and two more shipments of 100,000 and 200,000 units in May and June respectively, according to the senior official. She said the ministry expected to get between 1,000 and 2,000 tablets from China in a month or two for testing of the hardware and its compatibility with the ministry's software.

Very good tactics this government is using.

Keep talking, always rise the goals and keep the pockets full but for sure keep talking untill this government is booted.........Then blame the oposition for your failure to deliver on your promises.

  7. A few weeks ago Numchai had billboards allover Pattaya which anounced that he had LG 50" plasma for sale at 12.990 Baht.So I went there to look for the tv as it was a good promotion.Of course there was no where to find the advertised plasma.

Upon Inquiry I was told that on purchase for a certain amount of money you would receive a lottery ticket, with that ticket you could join a lucky draw on the last Sunday of that month where ONE plasma screen would be drawn and sold at 12.990 Baht.

I know there is a specific word for this kind of practices, but however the government has ordered a crackdown on it,it is not allowed to name the word on TV due to forum rules.

  8. "produced substandard steel from scrap metals"

Actually all steel has a certain amount of scap metal in it, this is added during the melting process, this is same the world over.....this story smells of scam cooked up to elminate competion.

Further good engineering practice dictates that the purchaser should conduct his own due dilligence on any materials bought, ie review of test certificates, metallurgical analysis,(if so required) heat certificates etc.

Further purchase orders should specify exactly what the purchaser requires, if they dont...cant blame the supplier, if it turns out they get something they didnt want or is not fit for purpose...!!!

This piece lacks a lot of detail of how TISI came to the conclusion the material supplied was "sub-standard" what is this based on ?....which standards etc etc...

But I guess that there is a difference to " a cetain amount of scrap steel added" to " produced from scrap steel".

What I understand that steel that gets reheated loses his flexibility, hence the report of TSI that the test revealed the bars broke easily.

  9. What should i reply, i would like to comment but some unkown force holds me back against the wall. It's the same as i would walk into a line of family mart with only 2 persons in front of me(it happens everyday also), would i post this on the internet? If this is your way of expressing yourself, i thank you for that. I hope that expression releaved your other... frustrations.

What would be good for society

As mentioned in the post i'm passing this route every day with baby stroller and I don't like driving it on the road full of crazy minivan racers and bus suiciders ... The saddest thing is that the woman driver of the benz looked like I eat all her dim sum lunch when she had to move her car ... she just did not understand why i want her to move her benz out of the footpath ... these people never walk so they have no idea that footpath is for walking and not a car park.

In fact driving on the footpath is encouraged in Thai traffic law.
  10. Nikster laugh only but bear in mind that for an old "blind" guy like me, the Note is really nice, I can do sms/calender notes/e-mail and so on easily without the damned reading glasses.

I use mine for phone calls as well and it works like a charm and I haven't noticed anybody looking at me in horror.

The 3.2" screen on my old phone was basically useless to me.

So when you reach 50 like me and maybe have started to use reading glasses you will properly change your mind.

Don't heat up,I'm sure Nikster only wanted to show us how ridiculous the iphone looks against the note.

  11. i think the whole thing is staged, probably filmed in singapore. that would never happen in thailand, but it has been known to happen in other less developed countries. haha

Video of soapy coyote dancers on stage at the Honda Festival 2011, (Hua Hin?)

At least these ones look attractive but it's the boobies were interested in,not the soap.

  12. Ever considered this sew_series_scale_16-l.jpg

You made all the effort to find and post that image for what purpose exactly?

First of all it wasn't an effort at all but I thought the OP was looking for a conversion standard, which if he knows the exact weight would be easier to figure out.Sorry if I wasted any of your valuable time.
  13. Only thing I'll add is this:

Goodyear owns Dunlop, and Goodyear is their premium brand..

Likewise, Michelin own Bridgestone, with Michelin being their premium brand... they also hold a majority stake in Yokohama, and that's their performance brand...

I hate to contradict you MRO as i know you are in the" business " but i read something different all the time.

    Michelin owns BFG, Uniroyal, Kleber

    Bridgestone owns Firestone, Dayton

    Goodyear owns Dunlop

    Continental owns General, Hoosier

    http://www.neilkline.../whoownswho.htm

Michelin (French pronunciation: [miʃlɛ̃]; English: /ˈmɪʃəlɪn/ or /ˈmɪtʃəlɪn/; full name: SCA Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin) is a tyre manufacturer based in Clermont-Ferrand in the Auvergne région of France. It is one of the two largest tyre manufacturers in the world along with Bridgestone.[2] In addition to the Michelin brand, it also owns the BFGoodrich, Kleber, Riken, Kormoran and Uniroyal (in North America) tyre brands.

By the way did you know that bridgestone once was a motorcycle manufacturer.

  14. They are available in Thailand as I nicked borrowed one from a building site in Chonburi several years ago and still have it here at my home. The closest I got to the producer was Chonburi concrete.

  15. Sadly, I have absolutely NO CLUE how to use any kind of Smartphone/Tablet.

Forget about it,you will never learn.

As a gesture of my kindness I will offer you 5000 Baht for that tab that's not available anywhere.

there is an error in the currency you wanted to offer, right ? I am sure you wanted to offer me 5.000 €.

    will think about it then.

oh, BTW, did you ever hear about the saying: "If you have nothing good to say, better say nothing at all....."

Have you ever heard about the saying : dreamers live in a happy world.

Or .... Difficult to explain a joke to a piece of concrete.

By the way,the 7.7 was introduced on the mobile expo last week.
