UK Controversy Over Union Flag Prompts Apology from Scottish Council
loong replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That acceptance should also include that it is not only acceptable but is also a right to display one's country's flag. Very few people seem to object about people marching around carrying other countries' or movements' flags! Anybody that is offended by our national flag should feel quite free to leave the UK! -

UK Aid Budget Strained as Asylum Hotel Costs Surge Amidst Overseas Cuts
loong replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That's good. So the low-cost housing will be solely for British citizens, and none will be allocated to illegal immigrants. Sorry, but I'll believe that when I see it.- 30 replies

Report Debate Erupts Over Police Chase in Helmet Incident in Bangkok
loong replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
If you have an accident with a motorcyclist who dies because of not wearing a helmet, it won't affect you? I know that even if I was blameless, it would still affect me! -

UN Urges UK to Scrap Chagos Deal and Protect Chagossian Rights
loong replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Seems to me that they are gifting the UK to illegal immigrants without the British having a say! -
Why don't they understand that if this is Allah's war, he could wipe out all Jews from the face of the earth with one swipe of his hand. He would not need mere humans to do his work for him. They should realise that the reason that the Israelis keep winning is because that is Allah's will, that is the only thing that can make sense. Please note that I, personally, do not believe in the existence of any god. I am just trying to look at it from the perspective of those who believe in Allah.

Tourism Thailand's Tourism Industry Faces Pivotal Moment as Arrivals Decline

I know quite a few people that come out 2 or 3 times a year for extended periods, they have well-paying jobs and don't have to work the full year. -
Report Diners Stop Customer Trying to Skip VAT at Bangkok Ramen Restaurant
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
I didn't say that I have never heard of them. I said that I didn't really know what they were. I see them referenced in stories such as when poor students survive on ramen noodles, Th's why I wondered if they were something like Mama noodles. The place, as well as the food that you show photos of does not appeal to me at all, so no, I would not pay 300 Baht for a bowl of noodles. -
Power Struggles: Why the UK Is Paying Wind Farms to Switch Off

I don't understand these agreements where they pay the suppliers to switch off. Do they charge consumers extra if they use less electricity than last month? -

Report Diners Stop Customer Trying to Skip VAT at Bangkok Ramen Restaurant
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
I must admit that I don't know for sure what Ramen noodles are. I always assumed that they are cheap budget meals (for students etc.), Are they something like Mama noodles? Rama noodles served in a petrol station does sound luxurious though. 😉especially if they can charge 300 Baht for them! -
Report Bangkok Taxi Driver Fined for Abandoning Passenger Over Toll Dispute
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Who knows why the passenger did not want to go on the toll roads? Why do you care? It is not compulsory to use the toll roads. You don't know the reason why the passenger did not want to go by way of the toll roads; it may have nothing do with the cost! If the passenger was Thai, you think that he shouldn't be in Thailand??? You think that if the passenger is not Thai, they should be forced to use particular roads even if against their will??? -
Report Thai Roads: Quiet Amidst Chaos, The Culture of Low Horn Use
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I actually avoid walking past a school in the morning where the policeman operates a crossing patrol for the students. No honking, but not a quiet environment due to the constant, deafeningly loud blasts from the policeman's whistle! -
Report Bangkok Taxi Driver Fined for Abandoning Passenger Over Toll Dispute
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
What has the report got to do with foreigners? The passenger does not have to pay any toll fares if he chooses the option that does not use toll roads! The problem is that Somchai would only take him via toll roads.
