Altercation Erupts Between Tourist and Ladyboys in Phuket
loong replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Nice to see them referred to as ladyboys again. I detest the term transgender women! -
Government’s attempt to prevent ‘two-tier’ sentencing fails
loong replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If this results in white people getting harsher sentences for similar crimes, then it is a blatant case of racial discrimination. Imagine the uproar if non-whites were given harsher sentences because they are non-white! -
I am sorry about my ignorance regarding this subject, but I just don't understand how puberty blocker could possibly be useful for children with gender dysphoria. If a male child is distressed because he is male, at puberty age, he will still be a male whether or not he takes puberty blockers! It makes no sense to me. I hope that in years to come, children who have these decisions forced upon them by their parents will be suing their parents in court. It may eventually lead to the end of such child abuse!

Migrant Couple Allowed to Stay in UK Due to Gang Threats in El Salvador
loong replied to Social Media's topic in World News
What am I missing here? Surely they could have both moved to a different area in El Salvador away from the local gang that was the problem? There, they would have no language problem and can find work to support themselves. Why the need to go to another country where they do not speak the language? -

British Tourist Punched: Guard Apologises, Security Training Scheduled
loong replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The tourist appeared to be walking up to the guard in an aggressive manner, but I didn't see him kick him. -
Thailand Balances Booze Ban with Tourism on Buddhist Holy Days
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Some years ago, some friends of mine came to Thailand for a holiday. Their arrival coincided with elections and there was an alcohol ban for their first 2 days. It is totally ridiculous that tourists cannot buy an alcoholic drink for 2 days of their 10 day holiday. They swore never to return to Thailand and they have not been back! So yes, it can affect tourism! -
The Controversy Over Islamophobia and Grooming Gang Investigations
loong replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I believe that most non-woke people have figured it out but for some strange reason, the governments seem blind to it! -
Thailand's Upcoming Entertainment Law Set to Change Nightlife
loong replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The image implies that this is about casinos, but I did not see any mention of this in the article. In fact, as usual with any announcement by the Thai government, it is so vague that I have no idea what it's about!- 48 replies

Thailand's New 300-Baht Tourism Tax: Aid or Hindrance?
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Cannot add it to the ticket price as Thais would have to pay it as well! -
Shocking Incident in Jomtien: Man Chases Tourist, with Large Knife
loong replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
If it was many years ago, I doubt that these were the same people, so it was probably a different reason for the chase. -
Man Takes Responsibility for Dogs in Thai Bike Crash - video
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
The boy on the bike was being chased by the dogs and probably panicking. The car driver was not speeding across the intersection. If it had been speeding, it would not have been able to stop so quickly. -

Thai PM Considers Easing Alcohol Sales Rules to Boost Tourism
loong replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It also seems that some Thais are unaware of the rules on religious days (not only the small shops). Alcohol sales were banned from midnight Tuesday night until midnight on Wednesday. Thai bars in Khon Kaen were still blasting out music until 3AM Wednesday early hours. I somehow doubt that the customers had spent the last 3 hours listening to music with no alcohol. 7:30 AM on Wednesday I saw Thais sitting in the Thai bars, openly drinking alcohol. So, no enforcement from the police, or just money collection. -
Kalasin tax office today- result!
loong replied to Scouse123's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Was your discussion in Thai or English? I can speak Thai reasonably well, but far from fluent and discussions about Tax etc. are probably outside of my comfort zone. It would be interesting to know how well English is spoken in some tax offices. -
It is quite obvious that if so many Palestinians were starved and emaciated to the extent that these hostages were, their photos would be flooding the internet! If only people who had visited Gaza were allowed to comment, these threads would be very short. BTW, when did you visit Gaza and do your research? This is the same guy that has stopped UN aid to parts of Yemen due to Houthis kidnapping 8 UN staff! Strange that it is quite ok for the UN to cut off aid, yet definitely not OK for Israel if they happened to make it more difficult in Gaza after 1200 citizens murdered and 200+ kidnapped on 7th Oct 2003.
-
No, it couldn't! Despite the claims that the Palestinians were starving, they always looked pretty well fed in any photos. I didn't see a single photo of a Palestinian as emaciated as these hostages. I did see some that were proven to be fakes. I saw one child that looked in a terrible state, but that was due to illness, and they stupidly photographed the child with its fat mother!

Thai man accidentally stabs New Zealand son-in-law in Buriram
