  1. My problem is solved. I chose to not go to Tuk Com 1st floor or east side because I doubted if I could find a qualified place. I called the IOS Restore Pattaya iPhone store, they charged 1,200 Baht 1 year warranty for a 6 Plus battery. I took Bolt to the store, had to pay 1,300 because it was actually a 6s plus model (6 years old too). The technician was really good, his English was excellent, and the work was done quickly. BTW, I was told by that Studio 7 place it would be at least 2,000.

Thanks again for all the positive comments and suggestions, especially to PPGuy whose advice was bang on.

  2. I do well with Lazada. My difficulty is pairing the watch with my iPad. I looked up Huawei Oppo instructions. I downloaded the only Huawei app that Apple shows. I turned on Bluetooth. I tried to pair with the watch. A six digit code came up on the iPad but the watch didn’t give me an opportunity to enter that code. iPad dropped the watch link to be. The online instructions said after linking the watch to it I could choose its language and  change default settings. So, since I can’t read the watch, I can’t find its Bluetooth section. Ugh.

  3. I (77 years old) have been ridiculously idle in the past two years. I blame Covid, lack of drive / laziness. Previously I walked everywhere, hiked and was out and about. My wife, is a stay at home girl, except for shopping. Anyway, about a year ago I wasn’t able to get up into a Baht bus, even with that lady pushing my butt. This week I am on a visit to her family’s ti baan, all entrances have wooden staircases. Now I need a rail on one side and a hand on the other. People help me get up from the floor. It’s time to get back in shape.

I have spoken about my issue, briefly, a year ago to my doctor at a well known Pattaya hospital. He said exercise (the gyms were closed, too darned hot many months, put it off). I went recently again and he just nodded his head.

Is there a specialist here in Pattaya or in Bangkok I could visit? In these Covid days, is it safe to go to a gym? Should I get an elliptical machine for my condo? Personal trainer-motivator?

looking forward to the comments. Thanks.

  4. Remember, years ago, before the tunnel was finished, all those arm chair engineers who predicted flooding, really just sneering at actual Thai engineers. It was unpleasant, close to racist.

  5. Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Before, for a few months visit, I would fly BKK to Toronto with EVA Air, one stop in Taipei, shorter trip than most, peasant class affordable. In the Covid times what airlines make the trip? My wife will have a Canadian visa but cannot land in the States, for any reason.

    Thanks.

  6. I’ve been taking Warfarin for 14 years; it keeps my INR in the 2-3 range most of the time. The side effects are a bit of a pain: purple blotches on my right arm, lots of dietary restrictions (floppy greens are restricted, cranberries and a hundred more - it really cuts down on what’s okay). Warfarin is inexpensive but the INR tests can add up - every week in Canada (free) and every two weeks here, my choice - do add up.

I asked a BPH doctor about other drug choices. He mentioned perhaps stopping Wararin and start using either

    1. Xarelto 20 mg

    2. Lixiana 60 mg

    3. Pradaxa 150 mg

    4, Eliguis 5 mg

What are your experiences with these alternatives? Are all available here? Does one get a strong recommendation?

One reason I’ve stayed with Warfarin is that the INR test can tell you if you’re in range and a run to the hospital for a b-something shot will bring a too high reading right down.
