I take Xarator 40 mg at 30 baht a pill, 30 pills to a box - 900 baht. I get them from a pharmacy near Victory Monument (and a complex of hospitals). Next time I’ll ask if they have an even cheaper brand.

Maybe the drivers thought they were Canadian.

I got an SMS from Jomtien Hospital yesterday. In late November, I think, I paid 1,650 Baht for a Moderna shot, as a booster. I received the second my two AZ shots Nov 18.
When I followed their link I could book a Moderna shot in Jan-early Feb, which is too early for me. I have to wait 3-6 months after my 2nd AZ. They wrote that if I did not take a shot slot now, I would be offered another one later. I am hoping for early March.

I just got an email from my health insurer, Aetna, suggesting I download their app. It says health information, on-line doctor hookup, and more is FREE.
Does anyone have experience using vHealth?

In Pattaya I get my HbA1c done at Lifecare clinic for 350 baht. When there I also get FBS (fasting blood sugar) test for 50 baht. And I (now) get my strips from Lazada, much better price than at pharmacies, and always check the expiry date.

Do regular HbA1c tests (cheapest at a local clinic), record the results along with daily Acu-chek tests, along with what you eat. You will be able understand your carb intake and it’s effects and if you take Metformin, how much is right for you. Diabetes must be managed each day, forever. Good luck.

I bought a couple of the 55 baht meters. They didn’t work a bit, so I ordered a pricier one with a warranty and am awaiting delivery.

I’ve noticed the mask avoiders went way up when Europeans reappeared in November. Many don’t cover their noses. We wear 3M 8822 masks, which I hope are close to N95 protection. I know two guys who handled mild Covid cases in their condos; another one is in the hospital - all double vaned. Five months ago some guy (probably from Alberta) visited my condo - signs everywhere “no mask, no entry” - when I said he should have one, he went on an extended profane tirade and repeatedly threatened to punch my fxxxing face in. To incite him further I offered him a new hospital-type mask. He went ballistic. Inside I was laughing, outside calm-placid face.

I just went into one of my many local 7/11s, asked for rapid tests. No have, have before, (getting more later?) not allowed, go pharmacy.

The Thai hazmat gang was doing rapid tests at 4 pm at the entrance to Walking Street yesterday. Today no white suits or testing, same time.

The Hammer2021, where did you go each night? Your meals sound outstanding. How about the costs?

I did a Gastro-Colonoscopy at Bumrungrad about six years ago, sedated, Dr. Poungpen Sirisuwannatash, very successful - less than 30,000 Baht, maybe a bit more. Covered by BUPA (now Aetna).

Mr Wong used to have a lot of customers, fixed a lot of watches. With the Wat Chai market closed here is a way to get to Mr. Wong. From Pattaya Tai, take Soi Hollywood one block to Soi 16. Turn right, toward the beach, and walk down until you come to the market. Go inside the building, turn right, 15 yards in - there he is,

I bought veal from Villa in The Avenue shortly after it opened. Very nice. Haven’t seen any since. Too bad.

The food guide also says how many ounces in a ‘glass’.

I think the Canadian food guide (or some such) says 12-13 glasses of wine (or drinks) a week. A little restrictive for me.

A couple of Indian restaurants on 2nd road just passed Pattaya Tai have “SHA Plus” stickers, and the Alcohol Sell Times for newbies.

The missus finally went to The Avenue’s passport office this morning and had to wait until it opened at 8:30 am. lots of people, she got Number 9 and was called pretty quickly, provided her info, picture taken and paid them 1,500 Baht for a 10-year passport, which will be mailed to her here in Pattaya. She was out by 9:01 am.
Funny that. On their poster outside there is a sign saying 3,000 Baht for five years and 3,500 for 10 years. But 5 or 10 years of what?
