I've called on the Portland office several different occassions for either visas or just general questions. The lady who works there has always been more than helpful and always a pleasure to speak with. I would still recomend this office!

There was a huge condo tower built in soi 1Sth Sathorn back in the late 90's called Pantip Tower. They wanted 90,000 b per month which at the time was two times more than Sukhumvit rates. You even had to pay a fortune to put a phone line in !

Not surprisingly the place was mostly empty. There were a couple of units that appeared to be occupied (pot plants on the balcony) , i bet they were relatives of the developers. Free rent. Thais certainly wouldnt pay for it.

You can build a large house in the provinces for 500,000 b... lock up stage.

I'd really like to know where and who can build a house for 500k baht? we're getting ready to have one built in a small remote village in Issan and 500k baht won't get very far.

Good luck getting a work visa, if the UK is anything like the States you will have one heck of a time. We also operate a Thai restaurant and tried going this route and it was a no go.

I've said for years that public transportation in Thailand is very risky, I've been on busses where the drivers were so intoxicated or drugged up it wasen't even funny. Many have been driving for extra long hours and it shows in thier attitudes and careless driving skills. Thailand seriously needs to require all commercial drivers pass random drug and alchol testing, they should also be required to run an accurate log book with thier driving hours recorded. Somebody needs to control public safety and make some laws, ones that need to be enforced. Is their even such an animal as Department of Transportation in Thailand? is so, what do they do? doesn't appear to be much!

If you include a few idiots from Iraq I would guess 500.5. One guy came whole but is now 1/2 an idiot!

People in my village farm some type of bugs which they sell to the locals. All of the species you noted are naturally available and I am sure that none would present a problem, mate I will gladly let you have the scorpions from my place for gratus if you want to come get them.

What sort of volumes, weights are you looking for, packaging etc..? Happy to check interest levels if you can be more specific.

Does anybody here know of any farms that raise edible insects/bugs? I know street vendors are about but I am looking for a company that provides a clean and safe product. I am searching for ants, grasshoppers, scorpions, bamboo worms, beetles and lg crickets. I need a company that can also ship to the States. I've searched the inter net and have had no luck, any help would be greatly appreciated.

So.....Just to be clear on this.....My (Thai) wife has lived with me in the States for the last 6 years, together we have a 6 year old daughter. She also has a 9 year old daughter from a former Thai boyfriend, this step daughter also lives with us in the States and I am planning on legally adopting her this summer. We are planning on moving back to Thailand this year sometime to live full time. I've been told that if my wife stays outside America for more than a year that she will loose her green card as well as my step daughter's card. Would she also not be able collect my SS? I know she would on my biological daughter but what about the other issues?
