  1. Thais perceive that "being axed" is analogous to "transferred to an inactive post." It is not. The criminal Thai police should be arrested, jailed and indicted. Put on trial and if/when found guilty, jailed for long terms, fined, and stripped of all pay and benefits. The current Thai process and procedure of dealing with corrupt/criminal police is a joke. Everyone knows this. Thai enforcement of police criminality can't be taken seriously until Thais start really enforcing.

  2. Thai authorities should bear down on them. Water hoses, tear gas, whatever it takes. No free speech should be permitted, no political opposition allowed. Zero tolerance. We can't have a happy society in Thailand if these pesky students and intellectuals are permitted to speak out and protest. The Thai government should stick to its mission to bring order to Thailand and suppress these demonstrations. The world will understand that Thailand is merely doing what is right for the country and preventing civil disorder.

I wonder what the full text of what he said reads like ?

Hard to imagine he was so definitive without an escape clause starting with words like ' providing, but only if ' and so on.

Thais always have buts, ands, becauses, ifs, and providing thats. If they are not explicit in the documents or transcriptions , they are always "implicit." Thais always look at a contract as something to be "interpreted" based on what the Thais were intending/thinking. The foreigner relies on the written English contract law, but the Thai "interprets" the written document to suit their needs later.
