I get your point and kind of agree. However, the McDonalds app is pretty good and it's nice to get a bargain sometimes, even if you can afford full price anyway.

So true. At the weekend I was at a music festival in UK, wandered into a tent with band playing, noticed a very hot chick in front of me, guessing about 18-23 with a guy I assumed to be her dad who looked late 50s. Then they started snogging!! Was a bit jealous I must admit. Can't be easy with her circle of friends (unless he is famous, maybe).

Does your travel insurance cover you for scooters over 125cc?
sharksy replied to sharksy's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
I think the point is, in UK and many other places, Comprehensive Insurance & Third party insurance covers all costs to other caused by yourself. For peace of mind in Thailand, when renting a motorbike or scooter, I would ideally like to think I have similar cover there too. But the original gyst of the post is that many, many foreigners on holiday rent scooters, can we assume that most are riding uninsured as most policies limit cc to 125?? I would like to thanks a couple posters above for highlighting a couple of companies who will cover me next time I ride a bike bigger than 125cc. -

In the UK if you damaged another vehicle or injured/killed someone, insurance would cover all costs. Admittedly, I'm not competely au-fait with the technicals of insurance in Thailand, but in the same scenario, you would be liable rather than the insurance company. -

You would be open to financial risk if you hit + injured someone, albeit unlikely -

Interesting. I've just called the company to confirm and you are absolutely correct, any size cc motorcycle. Must wear a helmet, obviously - although no cover if you injure someone else. Many thanks -

Ok, I remember years ago riding a Suzuki135 I think, times change. Except for insurance policies. The point is, the restiction for most Travel Insurance policies is 125cc. I'm looking for recommendations for companies who allow a larger cc. Interested (except for residents) what other renters use for insurance, or as suggested above, gofundme when it all goes wrong... -

Yes, I have read my policy and it states up to 125cc on my worldwide travel insurance. I should have stated: Which UK based travel insurer do you use when renting motorbikes over 125cc? I do have a full motorcycle license too. Not so easy to find. -
One would like to think. I used Timpsons (UK, I know), for about 3 times on the trot to change battery, then had water in watch one day, kept misting up. I was in Thailand when this happened, went to a watch stop in MBK who opened the watch to discover a broken rubber seal. Timpsons!!! I threw the watch away, did irk me - cost about £250

Thai females average weight now 63kg!!!!
sharksy replied to sidjameson's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I suspect that these nationalities are probably lower in height than Thai. My Thai lady is 48KG and comes up to my shoulders. In Vietnam, many locals there came up to her shoulders -
And China is fishing around the world on an a huge scale, admittedly, just inside International Waters. Many locals are suffering because they can't get the fish they used to near the shore. And what about all the "Secret Chinese Police Stations" around the world that have been uncovered. China trying to exact control in foreign countries illegally.

I've recently been to Sihanoukville in Cambodia. Apparently, one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Chinese seem to be pretty much running the show there. I hear that many of the local Casino workers are not allowed to leave of their free will, also other buildings are housing locals in forced labour doing illegal business. See Al-Jazeera - Forced to Hack. China is rather threatening toward its neighbour, Taiwan. Maybe you don't read world news? Maybe you are Chinese.

The real fear is another lab leak. Measles. Lovely. If this gets out, makes Covid look like a cheap joke. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-65390285 -
Does your Thai partner know much about history outside of Thailand?
sharksy replied to sharksy's topic in General Topics
Funny, enough, she completed the course : Tourism + Hotel Management. It seems many posters are correct, history is just not important to them. My Thai friend back home told me that history is more of a western thing. Most Thais (border regions probably excepted) really don't have a clue about other countries. She has been to Laos and Japan before I met her, and you are right, she had never been to Vietnam or Cambodia before. The main reason Pattaya exists (rather than a fishing village), is largely due to the nearby airbase from which US aircraft flew sorties to Vietnam. I'm surprised Thais don't know this. -
Electric Vehicle Registrations Increase for 3rd Consecutive Month
sharksy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Got chatting to a guy parked up a local McDonalds, he was in a Tesla Model3 Performance. I'd never seen this model around. He said he loved everything about it - but - if it was his own money, he would buy something with a nice big engine in it. -

I think I saw a statistic (probably depends on country) that only 35% of electricity gets to its final destination. The rest is lost in process of getting it there. -

Fastest vehicles are Drag Racers, qtr mile in less than 3 seconds with a big polluting engine. Although, I guess you mean road car, in which case, I take your point.
