  1. Marshbags thanks for the explanation and I completely agree with you. I was tired last night when I asked and hadn't read your post properly. I have first hand experience of this awful system too. I taught in Bkk for several years and was actually pulled up several times for giving students 'c' grades when they deserved them. Terrible time for me and totally unfair for all concerned

  2. Sorry Tigger, I just felt that some people, including myself at some point, might not have realised that the river is tidal

I missed out a lot in school but I now have two degrees and appreciate that the OP didn't understand the rivers movements :D Hope I didn't sound too serious

When it comes to common dog-fu_ck degrees don't mean <deleted>. I've worked with many PhD equipped people over the years and some of them have been amoungst the most useless morons put on earth. No idea of practicality.

Educated doesn't mean intelligent. Too bad lots of us haven't figured that out yet. :o

What? I never said education equalled intelligence either :D I find it very interesting to learn about the water in the river, thanks all :D

  3. I think you'll enjoy it Madjbs, you can kayak out to other smaller islands from Lom Lae, take water though as the other islands are not inhabited. Snorkelling is best at high tide out on Hong Island, there is a lovely lagoon there with starfish etc and the usual little yellow and black striped fish! Motorbike hire is cheap and the island takes about 30 minutes to drive around. I'll PM you with other details :o

  5. I'd suggest Lom Lae on Koh Yao Noi, the beach is one of the best, the price is in your range but there is no pool. On Koh Yao Noi if you are looking for a pool it would have to be Island resort or Koh Yao Pavillions and both are waaaayyyy above your budget unfortunately.

I would personally avoid Koh Yao Yai unless you want total escape and nothing else but your resort - it is beautiful but very quiet and very Muslim.

  6. Hi Darrell,

I am in UK at the moment and I used to have Ensure while in hospital but don't know where I can get it myself.

Actually Darrell can I ask you something please? If 6 minutes of walking dropped my sats to 77 that must logically mean that that happens to me every day when I struggle to walk to work or the supermarket or a museum etc. So... what to do? Ask for O2 or get a mobility scooter/wheelchair so that I am not getting as out of breath?

My Doctor emailed this morning to say I need blood gasses done to see if I am at risk of heart failure :o

  7. Oh and Isabelle yes, some birth control pills can make your PMS worse. You need one with a low oestrogen level I think, check it out with the other girls here. Sheryl would be a good person to ask. I once got a coil fitted with a hormone added and within 4 days I felt almost suicidal so I pulled it out by myself!!! The clinic said I'd had a severe reaction to the hormones. You musy get it checked Isabelle

  8. Sorry but I can't stand by innocently and watch you hang yourself!!! While you are doing your 'searching questions PLEEEEEZZZZEEEE change your nick Sadman.

'Lower themselves to have a drink with you...'... if I was in Phuket I'd come over and give you a good boot up the bahoosie :o

    (Meant in a caring way)

  9. IMHO... most Thai women wouldn't be hanging around alone in a bar in the first place. Most Thai women would come on the first date with a friend. And no decent Thai woman would hold hands with you in front of her parents unless she wanted to make a show of the fact that she's found someone to take care of her. As in the parents won't have to pay for her any more cos you will. Unfortunately this type of behaviour only comes from low class Thais.

Sounds very weird to me OP, sorry

  10. Hi Alex Lah,

I meant... do most men find that the antics of their willy controls a large part of their life? Like women are led to believe that me are 'at the mercy' of their willys. How true is this? I ask to learn and I have a teenage son who is obsessed with his... is this normal?

If a woman doesn't have a sexual partner I don't think she craves sex as much as men seem to???

It's hard to put into words...
