There's a big difference between 'started behaving inappropriately' and 'sexually assaulting the wife'

in any case, sadly, and i do feel sorry for the hot headed brit that it's got out control and theses are the

results as fists never solved a problem, only create new, worse ones.. AND hopefully after

all that his wife will still be around when he gets out...

Manslaughter, how long will he get for that in los?

By my calculation, the guy's still 3,500 baht ahead, and I'd bet dollars to donuts he's back out plying the streets in his tuk-tuk by tomorrow.  At worst, maybe across town where they don't recognize him.

At the very least, they should have made him return the 6,000 baht.

He doesn't need to drive his tuk tuk, one of his mates will  do it for him

It's starting to look a little culty.. I'm just saying.

As soon as they start talking about magic and other planes of existence and the beings therein, whilst wearing matching jackets.

Yes it does look that way, many versions of Christianity have popped up all over the world, mostly cults, or, cults in disguise, only a matter of time b4 Thailand catches on.

it's a punishment, not supposed to be a walk in the park like the UK prisons.

It makes me wonder why people take the risk of going to jail in Thailand.

I had a friend who spent time in jail for being the boyfriend of a important Thai, she was 17 at the time, long story but they locked him up and never informed his family, a social worker got word out after 4 years of hell.

What he told me about prison life in Thailand was that it's living hell.

Anyone who has any doubts about the negative impact that cannabis might have on mental and physical health of users, especially the young, should read this article.

Cannabis legalization has led to a boom in potent forms of the drug that present new hazards for adolescents

The THC was never controlled, and children don't smoke it for medical reasons, children can't buy alcohol, yet children are smoking weed big time in los now, combination of both on the roads is deadly, Thailand has the worst road accident rate, it's never been about weed for health it's weed greed

No they don't.....You sit in the Bangkok Immigration jail until you, family or someone pays your airfare.

I guess I will have to ring the Minister off immigration and tell him to stop paying for Thai overstayers to go home.

I could ring .my aussie mate who overstayed 5 years was broke and Thailand flew him home, he' never paid just got ten years suspension, he won't be back hes 80 now got deported 4 years ago.

NZ, beautiful country to visit but it's getting more expensive each day.

The cost of living is way higher than Thailand. The public health system is not in good stead.  Want a local doctors appointment? Likely to be a waiting list and you'll need to book weeks in advance.

Owning your first home is extremely hard, big deposits and high interest rates. Rent average is around NZ$500 a week (11000 baht/ US$300/BP250).

I don't know how pensioners survive unless they have their own house and savings. Although this guy hasn't made it to that stage yet.

In Thailand you can live quite well and for a lot less.  Not surprised he overstayed. He'll be in for a shock if/when he returns to NZ.

Unsure how it works here in regards to deportation. I suspect he'll have to pay the fine for overstaying and air tickets back to NZ.  What if he has insufficient money?

Does he rot in a holding/detention area/cell? I'm sure the RTP won't release him until they get there monies. The embassy will give out advise and that's all.

Silly guy,  he'll be barred from returning for 10 year now.

Thai government pays for his deportation, same as NZ government pays to deport thai overstayers

Have at it, mate! This guy should be PM not that useless smiling donkey of a mouthpiece damp squib.

Rarely touch the stuff but having the choice is nice. It has done the country absolutely NO F HARM whatsoever other than upset some fragile expat’s olfactory senses. It is all politics, deflection and a silly national face thing. Leave it alone and focus on making life better in this country, eh what!

Dave, sorry to say, kid's are smoking at school, and young children are smoking it at home, the THC isn't controlled, kids aren't smoking it for medical reasons.

It's turned Thailand into a basket case. And it's only about money.

have barely smelled the stuff since the 70s.  But as I coast into retirement I am not against trying it a bit at my ripe old age of 68.  In the USA so many people have prescriptions for it, albeit legit and needed or not.  I was wondering if a girl I know that does use it would be able to buy and use some while in thailand, with or without her "legal" prescription

Those who wanted it could always get it.

Now Thailand is turning into a international joke, attacking dopes, and turning children into dope heads, kids are smoking weed at school now, my son sees them in the toilets smoking, I tell him to walk away and shut his mouth. They are putting CCTV in school toilets now.
