No, I don't know how that is. I've lived here for 26+ yrs and yes there are some in the more touristy areas and even at the airports who don't want to turn on their meters, but you made a ridiculous claim. Come back when you been here a little longer and are not living on Sathorn or Sukhumvit Soi 11.

If they won't turn on metre, I ask for a price and then barter, if we agree I take the ride but no tip, if disagree I just walk away. But I don't smoke anymore over 10 years and never smoked in a cab in my life.

I'll say, a stupid, knee jerk idea, not only 'raising' but it's rather annoying and out of place, I for one think that this

is a clear discrimination against tourists, why not make Thai people wear masks as well? are they immuned

from bringing or carrying the disease in? and why only in holiday spots and not in major cities?

how odd will it look to see foreignness wearing masks and locals not? and whey don't they

give it at the airports rather than at the holiday spots?...

Breakout in Thailand jail, proves ⁷Thais are immune, I never wore a face mask in NZ, nor.my son,I had exemption, both of us never vaccinated, by choice, got covid 3 times, RAT test confirmed, just had it in Thailand, never got sick, just a snivel  ,even some Thai high qualified Dr's say strains now are quite week and cause not much problems, maybe different for sick elderly, I'm 72 never had a flue shot either, never gotten badly sick from covid or flue, but that's just me.

The same thing was happening a lot in Jomtien a few years ago, but the sad thing was that the restaurantuers logged us all in with the Russians and places I had gone many times and who Inew me very well suddenly demanded payment before placing my order, I was in one when about 20 people came in ordered and ate the food and then slowly left until only one remained who then denied any knowledge of the others only paying for his own food order.

They were able to leave because it was a very busy restaurant and the toilet was in back and led directly to the car park, freeking cheap Charlie’s screwed it for everyone.

    And they get free visas.

Why such uproar.   I guess they rode over that bump to fast and in drunken party state decided to get paint and warn others about the hard sht.  Then finished up the can on a sign.   Make them pay for repairs and let them party on. Doesn't matter their nationality to me.  But if I was a Russian of fighting age and ooorin just won 6 more years and is already calling up more troups i would probably drink to much too before my 90 day visa expired.

I actually think more of the heads of state should have condemned Thailand for offering this 3x extended visa.  Nothing but pure greed  and or orders from above.

I definitely would not want to be called up, so I would try to stay away from the motherland as long as possible, however I would remain low profile and behave myself.

Kicking a pregnant lady and only getting a 500 Baht fine ?!

There's a 'minority' of Russians who are just very annoying and have spoilt the great island of Phuket. It's been to clear to everyone they are working and buying up businesses for nearly a year now.

It makes you question more the decision to give them 6 months visa.

One word sums it up, Mafia?

Jail the muppet, he never will learn to behave.

Insanity prevalent in many visitors to Los, how they get in amazes me, they are everywhere, I also note, that the whole world is full of idiots, seems like they are expanding, bored to death in this dumbed down society we have today.

1 week before I wanted to extend my visa, i have gone to Immigration at Kap Choeng to ask what I would exactly need. When the boss heard that I live alone in a small village she told cannot have 1 year extension because nobody quarantee that I live there and it is unusual/dangerous to live alone at a ricefield city where is nothing to do. After some discussion (example I told I had extensions 3x before) she ordered someone to write down the requirements. The extension could in her opinion only when the "home owner from which I have a rent contract" send a signed document from her ID, her living tabain bahn and the tabain bahn from the home I rent.

When I had all the documents including the other necessary ones I went back there with a well known business man from the next city. With 3 people they checked all the documents and after the boss started again cannot give the required extension because live alone!

After long discussions in which the friend told that I really like to live quiet and all the people in cities around there like me she still not wanted. Finally I showed her the documents from my past wife and my 12 years old sun, marry, born and died, together with strong pictures my wife laying dead on the road under the concrete and pictures of my sun who lives 15 km away from me. After this she told me to be sorry and extended my visa. The 3 documents which they needed 1 week before, they not needed anymore and gave back.

What I not like is why it has to come to this point, for what reason.... I not see the necessary from the documents ex wife and sun.If really needed why not asked a week before.

My friend had to sign that I really lived there. If not trust they could come visit me. I know the boss is allowed to ask more information/documents but I not see the reason to refuse on a living alone reason because many farang live alone and get an extension.

But ok I have my extension....with re-entry. Hope next year it will be more easy....

I had a friend in a similar situation as you, and he got visas extended every year, no problem, immigration office knew him by first name, very well. I asked him how come you don't have any problems, he said, passport contain special brown paper when handed over, then stamped straight away.

Local outrage - what nonsense, now national action?

What is a crackdown on foreigners? Are they going to hassle us in the malls? 🤣

They let Russians in unchecked, we all know that many of them are mafia, they run organised crime, ATM scamming, gambling and pornography, many murders happening amongst this lot.

Then a mad man kicks a Dr on an illegal structure installed by crooked Thai property developers.

Two spoiled brat kiwis take a gun off a traffic cop, maybe they thought he was going to shoot them.

There is lots of police shootings in NZ after car chases, in fact if you're stupid enough to get involved in a car chase in NZ odds are you will end up shot dead or crash dead, they always end badly.

There are pick pockets, pimps illegal gambling houses and human trafficking going on in los all the time, and they want to crack down on innocent retired people and tourists.

Clean up your own backyard first, I say.

I thought you’d decided to ‘integrate’, join a hi-so gym, become more Thai, stop drinking etc ????

Anyway, this is a perfect example of a the lazy Policing we see here…

The BiB all need a ‘push’ to do their job & now social media will do that.

Hopefully now the BiB have been nudged into doing their job.

This principle clearly applies in the red bull case

    That's a substantial business.

Do you need a 90 day visa on arrival to work in this field? 88

CM Immi. iends to adopt new Immi. rules and processes ahead of other provinces, I've witnessed this several times in the past when they've asked for something such as a copy of your lease and others have laughed at the idea. IF they are now asking for proof of where the money comes from, watch it, I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand, not for one moment.

Maybe the new tax laws have something to do with it
