There is no use quoting court or judicial procedure from other countries as it has nothing to do with the Thai Judicial procedure.

What was the name of the interpreter used in getting the confessions? The exact police involved in the extraction of confessions? Now an unidentified person saying the case is solid? The constitution is not there, so what happens within the judicial system? If it was a court martial arraignment nothing is allowed reported? So what can be reported in a Thai Court?

Sounds as these two lads have to now show why they are not guilty with the police having the Burma Boys signed confessions?

So, one thing everyone can learn from this is advise anyone not to confess to Thai police if accused of a wrong doing.

These two will go to trial and will have a guilty conviction recorded. If it’s right or wrong, just the way the investigation has gone downhill says a lot for such a verdict. It also says a lot for the two class system that the Thai judicial system is. What happened to the Ferrari Kid; did he confess or forced to confess, what is happening with his court case, and he is still walking amongst us? This young man killed a policeman with his car?

The need for a good media to ask questions is not there. The challenge from the community is being muffled.

1. - They have taken DNA samples from the baker's dog too, and these Burmese guys come to the view almost at begin, so why had to wait for their DNA test result later?

2. - Where is those guy who had run in the victim's shorts caught by CCTV ? This line got silent later.

The guy in your point 2/ His pic is in the Brittish newspapers a very clear picture so why are the Brittish police quiet on this, this is the most outstanding piece of evidence from cctv. I saw the pic while surfing on google yesterday but did not bookmark the page it is there.

From my observation it looks to me like the same person who was paraded in BK having a DNA test in front of the media.

It's going to be exciting, how they use that DNA "evidence" - taking into consideration, that the crime scene, was totally destroyed on the first day. Everyone could see that, from the first photos, also exciting with the "the DNA is not Asian" comments by the police.

I really can't see, how these two boys can get a fair trail....

It wont be as exciting as you think. They will never let reporters into court to see the farce.

The first lawyer that talked to the 2 Burmese was got rid of and I thought he said he observed bad bruising on these boys.

I did think I read that the Myannmar lawyer who first talked to them and got their statement of abuse took and took pictures of their bruises though. Yet I had only read it once and have not seen or read about those pics anymore? Lost in translation?

i am amused by the amount of faith shown in the British foreign office and embassy. i might ask why they didn't question the course of the investigation much earlier, like when the Thai police ruled out the possibility that the culprits could be Thais and took to randomly DNA testing Burmese migrants and even placed the victims' British friends under suspicion. And when the Thai police released graphic crime scene photos and evidence to the media, upsetting the victims' families in Britain and potentially leading to a mistrial. It's all a bit late now. Who knows how much DNA and other evidence has been tampered with to create the result the Thai tourism industry needs? Britain has only been stirred into belated action following a request from the Burmese government to involve Scotland Yard. Which suggests that the British foreign office is more concerned with regional diplomacy than getting justice for its citizens.

I took a thai taxi from jomtiem to BK , got stopped at the toll gate in bk.

Police came to the drivers door, driver asked me for 200 bht.

Money slipped by accident to the hand of officer.

In some ways it's a lot simpler that dragging the driver though the court all over, done in 2 minutes and no red tape.

I have seen skimmers in action twice now in Thailand, one time in chiang mai the other in BK.
I watched the 2 men in chiang mai inserting card after card and getting it looked like 10k bht a time.
It was a sunday and I went to the bank Monday and asked the manager to look at the camera footage (he told me they had a camera). I don't know what came of that.
The others were Russian in BK and they were blatantly checking bags of cards in a small side soi restaurant.
They tipped the waitress 400 bht on leaving and I never said a word to anyone.
So its great that gangsters can get unlimited entry to the land of smiles.

I think that the British authorities have been slow and pee week they should have flown experts in to claim the bodies straight away and then DNA tested etc..

New Zealand authorities were the same in the Chiang Mai poisoning and only a secret filming by a undercover NZ film team discovered the residue of the toxic spray that was in the rooms of the poor soles that perished.

However nothing was done even after that evidence went nationwide in NZ.
