  1. I am disabled (paralyzedfrom the waist down)

A few weeks ago,my wife parked in disabled bay at tesco Khonkaen. I was in the car wife in the store Thai man stops, tells me he always parks in this spot, farangs cannot park here. Wife comes out of store,he starts mouthing of at her this is my parking bay. My wife went back in the store other drivers by now are not happy they cannot get passed.

A crazy situation caused by a selfish prat who did not want to walk a few meters.

If you were just sat in the car, and your wife was in the store, isn't this in itself a misuse of a disabled parking spot?! She has no need to park there, other than to abuse a privilege. What happens if a disabled driver genuinely needed that spot?

Just as selfish, in my opinion.

    Good point.

The disabled guy didn't need a disabled spot when his wife wasn't handicapped.

I tried to shave my ball bag in Thailand. Nicked it and had a cut which bled for an hour. At the same time I had a really painful leg injury and Bell's Palsey.

    Was not a good time.

Thanks a lot for that info. Conjures up some pretty scary images. I am thinking of "Nightmare of Elm Street", or perhaps "Nightmare on soi 34". Either way, the last thing in the world I want to be thinking about is your ball bag, thank you very much! Now I am going to go to the gym to rid myself of images of your cut bag. LOL.

    Soi 49 actually mate,

Was not a nice thing. Was feeling very sorry for myself. Still do actually.

  3. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

This is not confined to Thailand or tourists but is very prevalent everywhere.

Last month I was out for a meal with a friend and it was she who indicated I should look at an adjacent table where four girls were sitting, not a word being exchanged as all were heads down over their phones. Every so often they came up for air and food but each may well have been sitting alone for most of their time.

I think most of us would be somewhat annoyed if a so called dinner companion acted like that but for them no problem as they were all at it.

Try walking the footpath (sidewalk) in H.K.

Just the other day I was walking down the street here in HK and saw some chick watching a movie on her phone. She was heading straight for me and I refused to move.

Needless to say, we collided and she dropped her phone.

I was all pumped up to give her a mouthful…instead she apologised.

  4. There are quite a few snobby expats living here in Laos. They usually frequent a certain restaurant/bar in the centre of town. The OP may have stumbled into said bar and been unlucky enough to bump into them. Most work for NGO's, some are wannabe teachers also. It's quite a small and tightknit community in VTE. If you think the expats in VTE are bad, try going to Luang Prabang!! Thankfully most of the Ozzy miners have had to pack their bags and relocate due to recent mine closures thumbsup.gif

    That's kinda sad to hear.

    That restaurant/bar….KJD??

Another possibility ..... you're in your 30'$.......no prospect for long time anything beyond the current situation unless you want to stay as a broke school teacher.... with the wrong crowd.... .beyond immediate $$$$$$$$$ there is no reason for long term interest in you......you might be worthy of genuine long term interest - just not from their point of view/wants/needs/or desires.....hope you find what you need..... .needs and wants seem to get confused around here.....

another offshore worker who thinks he is a philosopher?

Their's nothing wrong with being a broke teacher, take it easy

Actually…being a broke teacher is kinda loserish.
