  1. Long story short, wife last talked to him on Feb 20, he was suppose to go back home or March 30. Wife talks to him multiple times daily but on Feb 20 he stop picking up phone calls. Wife ask other Thais to check up on him, Thais arrive at the farm couple days later, employer said he ran away, which was unlikely - they got police to check and employer refuse entry. Police search property and found the body.
  2. Majority of times these workers don’t send money through banks. They wire the money locally or send by cash to Thais living in Korea. And those Thais then wire the money from their thai bank accounts to the receiver. So there is usually no international transfer involved and rates rate better than banks with no fees. It’s pretty common, even for expats living in Thailand that wire small amount to like Korea, Phillipines etc.
  3. If parked under the sun daily, best to remove after 2 years. If parked under the shade, safest is to remove after 3. If you keep it over 3 years, potential damage to the paint increases exponentially if you try to remove the wrap.
  4. There won’t be a coup anytime soon. Deals were made which paved the way for Thaksin to come back. The military and police are not threatened by anyone, the ball is firmly in their court. MFP the party with most support is powerless, they are all very new and has no influence in anything. You might get some protest but it won’t be massive like before compare to those behind yellow and red shirts.
  5. Immigration typically ask how long, especially if she is a single women. Since she has a tourist visa approved, she just needs to prepare and show her itinerary. Normally the migration just stamp the standard 6 months even though you are only going for 1-2 weeks. Answering you are staying 5-6 automatically raises red flags, especially if it’s her first time in US and single. Majority of tourists don’t stay that long. They will ask for all the proof of accommodation, contacts, why you need to go for that long etc. How her company would allow her leave that long, how much money she has etc. It’s better to say 1 month. Have detail list of friends name, address, phone. What her plans are weekly. You can also book hotels on agoda, which many allow free cancellation from a week to 2-3 days prior to check in. This will help establish you have a real booking, and can show the officer on agoda app. Booking for car rental / domestic plane flights helps too.
  6. Le Cordon Bleu is very intensive. It’s good to have basic skills before you go in, I think it’s a waste if you have no basic knowledge. You are better off enrolling at small schools and try to cook from passion and learning yourself, watching videos online. Experience at hotels and reputable restaurants also helps a lot. It takes time to be proficient and experiences are invaluable for your journey. I’ve been to restaurants where owner graduated from Le Cordon Blue, hate to say some are not better than those that learn from scratch, experience, and passion. As corny as it sounds, a good cook / chef comes from within and experience it gains a long the way.
  7. China is not logging any impressive numbers on anything, thats only if you are still comparing it with after Covid. Comparing it with precovid, it’s still doing very bad. The government even said they will stop reporting unemployment statistics in fall of this year.
  8. Corruption within the RTP is not shocking, what’s shocking is how nothing can ever be done, corrupt police are hardly ever jailed only transfer to inactive positions, and at the end of the days it’s always a big misunderstanding.
  9. Someone wants big joke gone fast before he lays down the hammer again.
  10. Yes prior to 2019 it’s possible. They changed the law, no used cars allow only new cars. All the loop holes have been closed as well. End of discussion. I know several people who did so prior to 2019 legally, it wasn’t impossible. I’ve brought one used car in prior to 2019 also with the assistance of a grey market importer. Yes if you tried to do the whole process yourself, it would have been impossible.
  11. For appliances Samsung are not known for it, LG is better and more reliable. Samsung are only know for their phone, yet their phone tend to have problems once it hits 4-5 years in average.
  12. I doubt he is easily shocked. As a seasoned businessmen, he has to deal with a lot of different people - some very corrupted. It’s all a ruse to make it look like he is checking up on things and making changes, in reality let the issue pass a couple months later it will be same same. At least he is being proactive though
  13. The only excessive thing is him making the video and complaining. He is a YouTuber and actually very popular to Thais. He grew up in Thailand and is well aware of tourist prices charged to foreigners actually. But again, it wasn’t even a rip off price. So for him to film it for the sake of his video and getting views he should be condemn, he could have walked away - but then there would be no video if he simply walk away.
  14. As I recall, he is wanted by Thailand but there never was a request to interpol to arrest him.
  15. Dos they also spend millions to commission a study on this idiotic idea?
  16. plastic recycling is not a hoax. I am in the industry and have used recycled plastic for a few years due to demand of European customers and changes in European laws. The article states recycle plastic cost 40 baht / kilo. It actually costs less than 20 baht / kilo. Article you posted points out problems which are due to no facilities being set up in the past. Nowadays tech and facilities are there to make recycling plastic a reality that is not expensive and tedious. In countries like Taiwan, Japan, and Korea a large percentage of trash are recycled because it’s sorted very well and there are strict laws regarding to trash disposal. So it all comes down to regulation and habit.

Central Embassy - 10 minute walk or take a motorcycle. Free 2 hours, additional hours are only 20-30 baht.
  18. If you want the easy way, reach out to the lawyer and talk it over nicely. Tell him you removed the review and let’s end this on a good note. If you want the unfortunate hard way and got money. Lawyer up and post your experience on Thai social media forums to pressure the lawyer. Of course you can’t mentioned the lawyer name. At least get the public on your side first, nowadays public opinions can sway people to drop cases if it goes viral. And the lawyer can’t sue everyone. But since you don’t have photographic evidence it’s hard to sway the public, I suggest you avoid this route unless talking it over fails.
  19. They have all the laws they need, just the people not enforcing it from top down. It’s a no brainer, money talks. Increase fines and prison sentences.
  20. Thailand won the competition for college students held on campus at Harbin Engineering University. They won first and third place. The picture you posted is the from the main event Harbin International Ice Sculpture Competition.
  21. Sore losers…. Rice from other countries have its distinct taste and texture
  22. Wealthy Chinese are still traveling in numbers, it’s the group tours that are down. This is due to bad economy, and Chinese government approving less group travels aboard.
  23. The movie is made by Chinese which talks about kidnapping in countries bordering Thailand. Thailand doesn’t have the spine to make a big deal with China regarding the movie. Instead it continues to suck up to the Chinese. If this was the other way around, Thailand making a movie negatively portraying China, China would have told Thailand to censor the movie or face consequences.
  24. I’ve been there, it’s pretty nice right now and almost world class. But the problem lies with upkeep and they need better translation in English. Upkeep and maintenance had always been the problem. Location is too far too
  25. Thai embassy in many countries are always on holiday and calls go direct to voice recordings. My wife tried calling one in Seoul before and couldn’t reach anyone when she wanted to ask some questions. She had to resort to email and it took couple of days for them to reply also.
