  1. I'm in Thailand for the resident offshore income tax legislation, and so's my wife (and our son, and the cat).

No, I never struggled romantically in the UK.

Even worst, you come to Thailand home of mans playground and you stay in every night on TV and subject your Child to Thai education. That's is just cruel.....think of your child and return home you selfish gi*

It may surprise you to hear that the standard of Thai education can be very high.

Then again any education at all would probably be a surprise to you.

Standard of Thai education can be very high in compared to what.....The local Zoo?

100K a month for box standard education at Pattana or Harrow. No thanks

  3. To be perfectly honest, as a rule I do not go to beer bars in Thailand. Due to:

1 - The really, really shit music played on repeat

2 - Classless foreigners talking in pidgin English

3 - The occasionally pretty, but generally intellectually subpar women

Given that you demonstrate zero experience of encountering Thai women outside of the confines of beer bars, I suspect the only place you can garner attention, is in one. Which completely explains your sad perspective.

In short, I'm far happier with my pair than I would be with yours.

Yeah...heard it all before. I'm in Thailand for the weather, I'm in Thailand for the Food. Admit it your here cos you cant get a woman in your own country....

  4. no its called insecurity on the 50 year old man with his 20 year old chick. No excuse for this in the Uk where the Thai woman can get a job easily

because he says she is working so she can pay for her own thing

Don't understand your point. She has a job so why not pay for her own things????

    I think its called Marriage,

Which is what this thread is really all about, younger Thai girl dumping old guy but trying not to return to Thailand

true, so why the OP on his soap box about getting involved. Also he says lots of Thai couples....Where the h*** does he live Pattaya.

You two should just get a room already!

The OP, supposedly, is asking advice for a bad situation. You two are showing your anti Thai lady colors with little respect for the OP.

Sounds to me like you're both in the old, fat&bald brigade who have had bad experiences with the bar girls you married! biggrin.png

Bitter and twisted doesn't even begin to cover it.cheesy.gif

The op is asking for advice which has nothing to do with him...simple as that. My question was a simple one...why so many Thai girls in his area. In my area never seen one, nor do i want to see one. Leave them in Thailand where they are taught to stay in line

I have never said Thai Couples i said there are lots of couples meaning Thai English. couples ,

Couples...Thai/English where do you live. Is it a ghetto/low class area or something....Why so many Thai girls

Normally Thai women who have married a foreigner for money expect him to pay for everything and keep the money they earn for themselves.

Come to think of it, a lot of English women do that too.

You mean the ones with the massive gap....20 year old chick with 50 year old man type....You know the ones who married him cos he have a good heart and cos he a good man

    Are there other types?

yes there are 20 year old chick's with 60 year old men who not are old but fat and bald as well :-)

  9. Don't visit budget hotels then, problem solved.

I've learned that a hotel needs to have at least 4 or 5 stars with a 8.5 rating on booking.com, no or very few Russian, Chinese or Young Thai reviews and being LARGE like mariott, centara etc. You pay a bit more but you'll save yourself a lot of annoyance.

You said it, the thing is though we come to Thailand because its cheap, in six years living in Thailand couldn't seen anything worthwhile for a holiday apart from the girls. When you start booking 4 and 5 star hotels makes going on holiday to Asia pointless.

  10. Even so, the price of these rents is still high.

An average Office for administration is about 100 - 150 square metres. Based on say 100 sq mtrs, this equates at 1000 naht per mtr to $200,00 AUD per annum. That is Far in excess of Melbourne or Sydney rents and this is ASIA for gods sake! Cheapest in Asia? get real

Not sure how you come up with this calculation but Sydney for sure is more expensive than Bangkok. Most expensive location in Asia Pacific is Mumbai, followed by Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Sydney, Singapore, Shanghai and somewhere towards the end of that list is Bangkok.

Mumbia, who would want an office there. I wouldn't allow my dog to visit a place like that...

well I guess plenty people want to have an office in the business centre of India otherwise rentals wouldn't be so expensive as they are in Mumbai.

So why would anyone want to set up an office in a hole like that, my god these people think Bangkok is clean. If rents where expensive in the Western world fair enough but Asia your having a Paul Mcgrath.

  12. whistling.gif There are more candidates:

    • The person whose carry-on luggage takes up 4 or 5 rows of bins. On one flight in the U.S. a male passenger refused to "check" his carry-on baggage although the baggage he carried on filled 5 storage bins to the brim. His reason was that "collecting his checked baggage from the baggage area" on arrival would "take to long" after he landed. I was on this flight and it's departure was delayed by 35 minutes after we all boarded by this idiot insisting he had a "right" to carry-on as much carry-on luggage as he wanted to on the flight.
    • The "I want to sleep" passenger who lowers his or her seat fully down to sleep on take off and refuses to raise it again until after he or she lands, even though it is a 6 or 7 hour flight. This makes it impossible for the passenger behind them to eat or go to the bathroom for the entire flight.
    • And the "kicker/puncher sleeper" who when they drop oft o sleep violently moves their legs and/or arms to punch and kick the passenger in the seat next to them.

I've met all of these passengers, at least once.

A few tips I used to seek my revenge on the toss****

    1) - Make sure you go to the Toilet every hour and swing on the seat in front of you to get up. That normally piss*** them off.

    2) - Change the channel on your tv screen by jabbing the touch screen. Not to hard but just to desturb them

    3) - Make sure you keep the reading light on

    4) - When being served with food make sure you ask the Stewardess to tell them to put up there seat. This works best when they are asleep

As a regular traveller to LOS, 5 times a year. These tips normally allow me to have my revenge on the idiot who puts there seat back on me

  13. as a father i alway feel indignat about this

in the uk its sexism in thailand its racism

my wife can leave the uk with our child without any questions because she is the mother

she can leave thailand without any questions because she is thai

but when i leave its another matter

My son was born in Thailand but has been raised here in the uk for the last four and a half years by myself as a single dad, me and his mother are now divorced but I have never been stopped or questioned about my boy and I only use his uk passport and he has my surname, but as suggested to the op always best to carry a copy of your child's birth cert or proof they reside full time in the uk

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I will be using the UK passports this time. can verify been stopped every time with Thai ones. Will report back what happens. thx

  14. No problems whatsoever, you do not even have to apply for a visa for you and the child, if you both are only visiting Thailand for 2 week periods as tourists.

Only need to book your flight, show your UK passports and the same on the return journey back to the UK.

As regarding the questioning, this unfortunately is an issue of the times and can no longer be avoided. It`s the same for all us us, sometimes they may just wave you through and at other times you may get stopped and asked a few questions. Best to always arrive early at the airport, just in case.

Good advice, UK passport its is. Will provide update after travel next month

  15. Use the Thai passport. She is Thai and should be afforded her rights to enter Thailand as a Thai. But I am biased as I'm a Thai dual citizen myself.

Lets you use the faster Thai passport queue as well smile.png .

But I also have 3 daughters so just take it for granted that I might have the same issues though (never have and I've flown internationally with my eldest 2 or 3 times.)

So take it as them simply doing their job and be grateful that they are. I always carry 'the letter' which includes the better half's phone number and I bring along the birth certificate as a back up as it has my name on it as the father.

Arrive a bit earlier at the airport to take into account there might be this delay. And to think about it, I'm not sure simply travelling on he Brit passport is going to prevent anything one way or another. If they want to check, they'll check, regardless.

To be honest id be more worried about having the same issues on the Brit side of things as well either departing or on arrival.

thx for that. Being honest i'm very biased about the UK side. That's why my daughter is being raised and schooled in the UK. Lived in Thailand for many years and in my humble opinion its good for single man but for Family I found it to much trouble in regards to schools and driving safety
