  1. You'll always get questions. But your daughter is travelling on a British passport with her father.

She arrived on British passport with a visa on arrival stamp and leaving on a British passport with dad.

Keep it simple but expect mild interrogation at each departure.

    Nothing to worry about.

Sorry your advice is to use the British passport for Arrival and departure during 2 weeks visits

    thx

  2. Can anybody advise if this will cause issues if I enter and leave Thailand on the UK passport.

No. Will probably easier for you.

    Really Hope so...

My Daughter has the same surname as me. Looks like me. Yet still get the same crap....What you doing with her, why you taking her out of Thailand, have you got letter from mother. After that the officer calls his boss....in total an extra 15 - 30 minutes of stressful crap. Simply not needed every time we visit Thailand prior to a long flight back to the UK

Letter from the mother, you have that ?

Yes have it, doesn't stop all the questions though.

  4. Need advice

English guy with half English/Thai daughter wanting to enter and leave Thailand on UK passport

Reason being tired of the questions and red tape I have to go through with Thai immigration

every time I want to take my daughter out of Thailand. For reference daughter lives in the UK with me and only returns to Thailand

for 2 weeks holidays to visit her mother 4 times a year.

Can anybody advise if this will cause issues if I enter and leave Thailand on the UK passport.

Finally mother dosen't travel with us. Just me and my Duaghter

  5. Here is the bottom line for me...Never buy real estate in Thailand.

You're never going to own the place. Property deteriorates quickly and is rarely well built. Neighbor horror stories are everywhere. You can never trust a management company. Property rarely appreciates. The country is a political mess. I can go on and on.

I'm currently renting at a high end condo project in Phuket. The HOA is in a war with the owner of the property all over who gets to handle the monthly fees. The Thai owner wants that money back in her pocket (where it belongs according to her). The HOA wants it spent on upkeep of the property and grounds. Water, electricity, Internet, pool maintenance are all being used as pawns in this war. The property values have been cut in half and sales are non existent because everyone knows about this and there is no end it sight.

There is plenty of places to rent. Anyone coming here and planning on buying a place is out of their mind. I have a friend who runs one of the largest Realtor on Phuket. I asked him one time if he would buy something here. He just looked at me like I was crazy...."Yeah, right".

    Concur, concur, concur.

Currently renting in high end moo Baan where all the Thais drive round in Benz and BMW but still behave like council estate peasants in the UK.

Dogs left out day and night in garden which bark at nothing , maids talk loudly in garden and just plain rude manors. Not to mention in January they seem to go construction crazy

  6. I doubt it will make much of a difference, but every little kick up the a$$ for Thailand to sort out longstanding tourist related scams and safety issues etc. can't be a bad thing. The TAT need to realise that if their product isn't right, people will take their business elsewhere.

Agree, will not make much difference. I would say a good 50% of people if not more come here for whats not on offer elsewhere...I wonder what that might be thumbsup.gif?

  7. Large Lithium Ion batteries can be a problem, since they can used as a minor explosive. Technically they are all suppose to be sent by ground, smart sellers will declare them as nickel cadmium.

Seeing positive feedback does in no way indicate that that seller is trustworthy. When a transaction is disputed and you have given bad feedback. Ebay has a form the seller can send you to change your feedback, once a resolution has been settled.

I have been sent feedback change request 3 times.

As a previous Ebay seller Buyers like you are avoided at all costs and give sellers sleepless nights, advising to leave Feedback and awaiting resolution forms sure sounds like a your a serial no item receiver...will leave it at that. Could go on and on about this issue....

OP...Email the seller, guaranteed he will solve the problem otherwise he risks his account being in trouble with Ebay something all sellers avoid especially as its so hard to get new accounts up and running these days. If no joy open Ebay/ Payapal dispute but at least give the seller the opportunity instead of slamming in bad feedback as the previous post suggested

  8. Well I thought Sh!t! I've still got 5GB of download ratio left and stuck in the sticks without broadband - thanks to this thread.

** then I logged into the Box and notice an email inviting me to another site - anyone else get moved over as well? All the ratios on new site same as we left off at the box so life goes on. If you didn't get an invite I think you're SOL as its a non public site and no invites. Time will tell how it survives undercover I guess??

I got an invite to and have downloaded several programes from the new site last night. In my thinking this was move to keep the payers and get rid of the people who dont pay. For reference donated about £100 sterling in 3 years

  9. Hi

Users with tablets are currently redirected to the forum instead of the main site.

Why do you want to browse the main site?

Because the front page gives info on the latest topics, its easier to flick between forums, instead of scrollong ALL the fourms , then go inside then choose a topic, then when done go all the way back out to do the same again for another forum, its so much easier to just go back to main page and read whats new/ latest etc.

    +1

Always like reading the Thai Visa website on my tab until i was redirected to the forum page by dafault and for some reason cant go anywhere else apart from the forum page ?

Whats that saying if it aint broken dont fix it....

  10. Im British, Ex Wife is Thai. My Daughter has a UK Passport and Thai one. Just went to the UK Embassy after daughter was 6 months old and filled in the papers.

Had to have my daughters Birth certificate translated to English, a couple of pictures of her on white background and my UK original birth Certificate .....

Daughters UK passport arrived one week later. No poblem :-)

  11. A top executive at TrueVisions insisted that losing the EPL would have only a small effect on his company.

What kind of bull$hitting canute is he?

I can visualise the family discussions now:

Teelak I want to keep it for the excellent Thai HD films and soaps.

OK - you pay for it then my sweet.

Teelak you know I stopped earning that kind of money the moment I met you.

Ok - we are agreed - it hits the bin then.

Is that what your tirak said

My neighbour says he only pays for TrueVisions to watch the EPL. If there are many more people like him, which I suspect there are, that top executive is in for a shock.

Ours went last month, took great satisfaction in listening to there customer services grovel to keep our service. For me...just got sick and tired of to many adverts on

    discovery

  12. Hi All

Here’s my situation. Im married to a Thai Woman and we have 1 daughter together that was born in Bangkok, Thailand in 2008.

My question is this if I want to take my daughter to the UK with me alone for a holiday do I need any written permission from the mother to clear Thai Immigration
because my Daughter is half Thai/Half English. Note my daughter has a valid UK and Thai Passport

To add me and the mother are not together any more even though I continue to support her and my Daughter and pay the full fare of the school Fees.

    Many thx

    Derek

  13. So, haven for foreign investment??

    - Not being able to own a company to 100%

    - At least 100 ways of being cheated off all your investment and actually your last shirt

    - No way to win a court case as a foreigner

    - Hostile foreign policies and expats being treated like criminals even if married and children

    - Complicated visa and work permit procedures even if you're already living here for 10 year.

Oh yea, sounds like a great place to invest. Remind me: Why was I here?

Cos of the girls, like 99.9999% of guys :-) who reside in Thailand
