  1. I did'nt know there was an election what time do the polling booths open -- I don't want to be late casting my vote.

Farang cant vote of course,--so when the police come round would it be impossible to see the Falang and Thai drinkers.

I don't remember ever ever seeing a Thai drinker in the go go bars or any bar that I might go to,--ever.

  2. Swerving to save a dog is still bad driving. Brake failure is almost impossible without warning.

There is no operators system here, thats government controlled licensee having the experience and maintenace programs and trained drivers for HGV or PSV's.

More likely drunk, glue sniffing, ya ba or just racing his mate with a fag hanging out of his mouth and his left leg up on the dash board while his co-driver eggs him on.

I am a HGV driver and I have tapped bus drivers on the shoulder a few times here, it worked for a few minutes. I have not ridden in a mini bus for 15 years or more, they are completely nuts.

I have read situations similar to this where a driver did a runner and the owner of the tuck did not know who was driving it that day--so he says.

Terrible disrespect for the dead (foriegner) and authority.

Thailands usual mix of ego and superior gung ho attitude.

  3. If you have Syphilis you cant work?

Or do you have to leave the country, ---or you can not work but still stay in the country. Whats the difference?

They dropped the medical on the retirement visa because of this, you can come to Thailand if your sick,-- or well and can stay so whats the medical for?

We all know why,--its so they can find a problem that you can pay your way out of,--- you know,-- you've heard it before --- they look at you and shake thier head and say " I can help you"

PS --im not sick or anything.

  4. The danger is what makes Thailand great. If it were regulated like our own boring countries we would not come here. You can catch Aids HIV food poisoning in the same day you arrive, you can get mickey finned and mugged in the safety of your own bedroom.

A boney hand is offered to you for money by the minue and your life is worthless unless you have money. You can die on the steps of the Hospital if you credit card hick ups.

Taxi drivers are a joy and is like sitting in the same car as a snake, you can be sold to another driver for half the price you have just paid. You can have you security box emptied at the secure Hotel reception.

Best of course is I can rent a bike as big as I dare, after kick out time at oh --O clock I can go for a blast without a helmet on and smack myself up and die if I so wanted.

    Best holiday I ever had.

  5. To drive a jet ski in Thailand you need to have a helmsman certificate, same as you need a drivers license driving a motorbike.

The police are checking the motorbike drivers but I have never seen any checks on the jet ski drivers.

As probably 99.99% of the people renting these jet skis do not have a license to whole business is promoting an illegal activity and should be banned.

Im not sure if you need a helmsans certificate to drive a power boat in Thai waters ,--a Thai does.

All foriegn owned boats in Ao chalong, boat Lagoon, Yacht haven and Admiral marina etc do not because they are temporary imported.--- I am one of them. But a Thai registered power boat driven by a foriegner ?

    I think you maybe correct.

  6. Here in Phuket, scams are rife. The only way to stop any of these scams going on, is for people to start to film them and upload them on the web and SHAME Thailand into doing something that will stop ripping off tourists and actually start to reduce the scams in Thailand as a whole.

Well done to any and all people who capture these despicable acts and shows the world.

My friend tried to film my a ski transaction,-- he had to go to hospital and have his camera surgically removed from his anus cavity.

  7. In wrong and inexperienced hands those machines are deadly dangerous for themselves and others ... Those tourists who rent those machine have no idea what they have in hands .. time to act and why not, to forbid those machine .

But then it would be boring, it would be like Torremolinos.

I would not sit on a plane for 13 hours to got to Torremolinos. Thailand is a good eye opener for the soft gullable Europeans that thinks it must be safe becaue you are allowed to do it.

I dont know why the jet ski operators don't make them sign a information sheet , it woud'nt stop them using it.

You can go hire a GSX 1000 if you want, thats what makes Thailand Thailand.

I don't hire jet skis --or go swimming, I sit on the beach eating food poisoning,--its just as dangerous.

However having an accident and running away is another thing.

  8. You should not rent a jet ski or a motorbike or even a car in case the wheels fall off. I advise that you stay in the hotel and dont go in the swimming pool without a recognised pool attendant.

Probably best to get a hotel with pool table and not go out,- but be careful with the pool que you could take some ones eye out.

My freind comes to Thailand a lot and he just sits in his room and does'nt go out , he has a great time,-- but last year he cut his finger open on a bottle opener so don't use a bottle opener without making sure the handle is secure or best ask room service to do it for you.

However he cut his head on a pop rivet in a baht bus on the way to the airport so you cant be too careful

Jet skis with an engine in it are dangerous.

  9. The "kill switch" should be attached round the wrist of the rider. If you fall off, the machines engine will stop and the ski will make a turn under momentum. If the rider did not have the kill sw round the wrist the rider is wrong.

If the kill sw was inoperative the machine should have idled back to the fallen rider.

Hotels should warn their clients not to rent ski's but then the manager would be probably shot.

What with taxis and scams in general Phuket will be a ghost town in my life time. Nasty place.
