    Could be ok.

Soi 10 is on the right of Ratchada and the area I refer to is on the left where you have the uneven soi's.

Great Thank you for your advices! Most importantly, I will be close from such a beautiful lady I met last time I went there :)

Actually the area I referred to might be Din Daeng. Not really sure where Huay Kwang becomes Din Daeng but there's some pretty rough areas out there.

    Anyway enjoy yourself :)

I'm guessing your Condo is City Home Condo right?

  2. ^I agree with you're analogy and as well if you live in Thailand and contribute to the tax base you get same pricing as any Thai with just proof of your residency at the national parks.. A Thai drivers license or work permit is evidence enough..

*edit* That also includes zoo's etc. and even most private attractions as well.

Not all places. Try that at Koh Samed. Quite a few places that will not budge at all.

  3. It depends a bit in which area you live.

Huay Kwang is huge and some of the apartments on the sois of Pracha Songkhro are pretty rundown and you won't see many other falang.

I plan to move in a room on Soi Ratchadapisek 10 near the emerald and Le concorde. Never been to this place before. What do you think? The room I saw seems pretty clean.

My condo is in soi 10 too.

The area is ok man. Soi 10 is a short walk to the MRT and the huay kwang night market.

  4. I have been visiting Patong couple of times a year since 1996, always hired bikes never had a problem, tuk tuks a rip off ? yes, but most of us earn a hell of a lot more money than them so whats it matter, to much moaning on this page

That is what you think. I know a tuk tuk driver in Phuket who has a brand new 4WD and big ass fuc_king house in Phuket. They are not as poor as you imagine and made their fortunes taking the piss out of weak people like you.

  5. If she doesn't want to have the child she can have an abortion. If she wants to keep it then I don't think you should force it on the guy. Becoming a parent should be a joint decision, not at the sole discretion of the women.

It reminds me about the story in America two weeks ago where a woman aborted her fiancee's child against his wishes.

Story seems extremely bias and uses a lot of loaded phrases to persuade opinion.

  6. Depending on what it is on stuff like thinner and sticker remover will help too. On an other note you will probably loose your deposit as it happens so much even if things are all right.

I have never lost my deposit in Thailand. Maybe I am just a good tenant? :)

  7. Grass = British English slang for a police informer.

Why get involved in something like this when it is none of your business?

So if I drive home drunk and run over your kids would you want people to just mind their own business too? Certainly wouldn't want to be a grass would you.

  8. Most of these guys haven't got a clue HardenedSoul.

I actually used Prakard to find my last room. It is a thai property forum. It isn't in English so you need to either be able to read thai or have a helpful friend who can translate. Great place to sub let condo's directly from thai owners.

It's also good to find the area you want to stay and just hit pavement. You will be surprised what a little bit of footwork can do.

If you just go to a falang agency then of cause you are paying a premium for the service. If that is how you like to do things that is fine, it is your money to spend (waste). Just don't come around here spouting ignorant nonsense about a city you know little about.

  9. Try living in Phuket... vastly more expensive than Bangkok. It's very hard to find even a small house for to rent for less than 15,000THB a month and frankly you have to search for those. I paid on average 23,000THB for a 2-bed house in central Phuket, near to the school where I worked, not near the beach. Not only were the supermarkets more expensive than Bangkok, the international hospitals where charging more than Bumengrad. Welcome to the Geneva of Asean!

Obviously you have not lived in Bangkok. I live in both places Bangkok and Phuket. Yes you would expect Phuket lifestyle to be more expensive, but it is not. Rents are higher in Bangkok by far. A studio apartment with a western kitchen suitable for a non-Thai is about 30-35,000 baht a month anywhere near the subway or the Skytrain.

You OBVIOUSLY have no idea about Bangkok. Stick to your farang ghettos.

It is amazing how ignorant some of the people giving advice on this forum are.

  10. Half of the places on that list are not even nightclubs. They are more like cocktail lounges.

Nightclub is about music, dancing, and chicks.

RCA is my usual jaunt with Route 66 and Slim. I'm also partial to a few places along Sukhumvit depending on my mood.

  11. Proper apartments at good location in Bkk are expensive. If you can live in a small box of 45m2, then ok, 20000 should be sufficient. Otherwise count on 40-50000 a month. Yeah, same or more what you'd pay in your home country.

So you may end with 100k/month for everything, but add some extra cash for travelling and visits to your home country.

Thailand is NOT cheap if you need some standards.

What a load of bullshit this is.

I know lots of places where you can get 2br places for under 20,000baht. You don't need to spend a fortune to get nice digs in Bangkok.

Some of you guys have no idea at all.

  12. There is one called "The Jims Place" out near ramkenghaeng with a 50m pool. I can get the address or pics if you like.

There is also another one in lad prao with a 25m pool but shit quality rooms and a fair way down the sois to the main road.

I'm sure they are out there. It is just a matter of finding them.

  13. Tourist Visa for 60days which is expendable for 30days for 1900baht or something.

You can then leave the country and return for another 60 + 30 days extension.

This gives you a maximum of 6months on the tourist visa. You might be able to get a second tourist visa afterwords or do border runs. 15 days by land and 30 by air.

You will need to factor these costs in. Paying for visa, traveling to border, paying for visa to visiitng country, etc.

  14. You could do it if you live on a strict budget. No partying or eating western food.

If you run into any unexpected problems your budget will be stuffed. You need to keep that in mind. You will most defiantly need insurance. Can't afford to pay for a hospital stay if you get food poisoning or in an accident.

There are so many things you are not budgeting for too. Little things like buying soap. Not expensive but they add up over a period of 12months.

Can it be done? Yes it can. My advice would be to plan an EDUCATED budget and then take double that amount. If that means you need to stay less than 12months that is something you will just need to consider.

Do you really need an ocean view? It would obviously be a lot more managable if you picked a location away from an island or beach as it will be a lot cheaper. Everything is more expensive on the islands.

You will need to sacrifice some comforts if you want to do 12months. I have plenty of thai friends and they have apartments in Central Bangkok and only pay 3,500baht a month. They do not have A/C or Hot Water. My condo costs 8,000baht but has a pool, A/C, WIFI, and Hot water. For 12months on that type of budget you will have to leave behind some comforts you haven't even considered.

Wish you good luck with it. Maybe good idea to have an open return flight booked in case shit hits the fan and you end up with no money. Always have a plan B.

  15. The funniest thing about this thread is it's so obvious that the secret "owners" of other pizza joints feel threatened by the opening-post's mere pizza suggestion, and keep using their "mirror accounts" to trash the pizza they haven't even tried or seen; and push their own.

Next step: They'll pretend they've tried the opening post pizza and trash it some more... then push their own as "unbiased" third parties (using, again, their "mirror accounts")

    Are you implying me?

I'm not connected to any pizza business. I just stated my opinion based on the photo. It looks like a shit cheap pizza. Anyone who knows pizza will agree with me. Seems a large portion of the forum does and YOU are in the minority. Is it possible you are the one who is biased and has relations to the pizza business?
