Why did the OP 'anticipate' the loss of deposit? What did the rental contract say in regard to early termination by either party and any forfeit of the deposit?
Did the OP seriously expect the landlord to let them walk out on the 15th whilst contractually still owing the rent and utilities withheld by the OP because he 'anticipated' losing the deposit? Was this 'anticipation' based on the fact that the OP and his partner had been less than perfect tenants and there was some damage and repairs that they were ultimately going to be held responsible for, ie. lose their deposit anyway?
I would say the OP anticipated the loss of deposit because TIT.
I have always got my deposit back.
Maybe the thread starter is just a shitty tenant?
Why else would she cancel your contract and refuse to refund deposit?

Bloody awful - more pavement blockage.
then maybe you should go back to your home country and enjoy those quiet footpaths?

How about you actually put some effort into the local language and stop whining like a <Snip!>?
The problem is your fault. You live in a foreign country for years and years and you can't even order food in a restaurant. It is pathetic. What would you think about some asian or arab person who lived in your country and didn't learn enough English to order food, THEN complained and blamed it on you?
The fact he is willing to ban you from his establishment shows how annoying you must be.

Guys paying their gf salaries and then thinking its not about the money. Really come on try to get a gf without paying a salary and see how that goes.
She is a teacher and earns 20,000 Baht a month herself.
Then why the hell are you giving her a salary? You sound so stupid that I am not even sure if this is real or fake.

unfit for trial?
If you are fit enough to do the crime, you are fit enough to do the crime.
Let him die in prison.
For an alleged offence
Alleged? The article says the seized photos of him with kids in the act.
He doesn't have a leg to stand on here.

Best by far in my opinion which you will need
http://word-in-the-h...android_ov.html
Not specific in teaching reading & writing but it is correct
& has some great help sections which are very valuable in themselves.
You can click any word that you look up in English or Thai script or sound & select
explain spelling, tone rules etc.
Their Help Section has a Reading & Writing sub-section that is full of info you need.
Consonants, Consonant Clusters, Vowels & Syllables, etc.
Aside from that you can get various alphabet, vowels & Tones programs to help you
learn as that is where your reading & writing will start.
Some that I like are
Thai Flash

Memolicious
I don't think you understand.
I don't want a Thai dictionary.
I want a program designed around learning reading and writing Thai.

Good question, I wanna know also. Theres always youtube lessons. Lots of great teachers on there have a look.
I don't want videos. I want something more interactive.

I live and work in the Town in Town area
And we think Thais are hard to understand
Town in Town is the name of a hotel/area in Bangkok...
-
Town in Town is near Ramkhamhaeng area in BKK.
Plenty of foreigners around there. My thai friend runs a modelling agency and all the foreign models stay at Town in Town when they are working in Bangkok.

As the title says.
I'm looking for the best android app for reading and writing Thai.
I am always messing around on my phone during the day and usually just mess around online or play games. I figure i can put this time to productive use and hopefully there is a good reading/writing app I can work through.
I am at beginner level.
Any suggestions?

there are everywhere right now. I have even seen girls taking them out to nightclubs like Levels and Narz and taking photos with them.
they look almost exactly like the furbee dolls that were around 10-15 years ago in the west.
hell. i know a thai girl who has bought 4 of them. yes, 4.
-
obvious fake. sort of thing you see in those rings they put in bars to entertain the tourists
-
Go to Narz on sukhumvit or route66 on RCA. Slim/flixx on RCA is fine too for your kind of partying. Clubs on thonglor soi 10 are filled with hi-so kids but you'll be fine if you're farang. The other typical party places, such as scratch dog, wip and insomnia are for the late night whore mongers.
All correct apart from saying that Wip is for whoremongers... lol. And, I dont think you can go "completely wild" in RCA, let's be honest route is table to table, Slim is live music table to table and flix is table to table electronic.. Ive never seen anyone actually get ON any of those tables.. and I fully expect I never will.
Wip is 99% Thai and is not cheap. Bottle of whiskey the norm.
Yes. What's your point? Have you? I lived on RCA for 6 months. Care to chime in with better advice?
learn to read, already did. All clubs you mentioned are VERY VERY VERY unsuitable for the OP, not to mention the ones in Thonglor DO NOT welcome foreigners, while they tolerate some, the clubs are not for us.
RCA clubs cater for uni students NOT for foreigners.
Wow the whole 6 months??? whats your address? will send you a 6 months award
Lemoncake, sorry you are also quite wrong..
RCA welcomes foreigners (you may need to pay a surchagre for Flix and Slim these days, but still very welcome.)
Thong lo clubs welcome foreigners, there is not a single one I have not been in and I visit a handful on a weekly basis as do many other foreigners.
There is a difference between "welcoming foreigners" and "getting your ass and tits out" in the middle of a nightclub.

For your own security sake, and also that your behavior reflects on all other falangpeople, maybe you should try to respect the culture over here. If your kind of "having fun" is to flash boobs maybe it is better to do it on your own turf...... Thai can get the idea that all falang are like you guys, and that is not a good thing...
Stay home and do whatever... please do not imbarrass the rest of us..
Glegolo
I have to agree. You should respect the values of the country you are in. I'm sure you don't want a bunch of muslims coming to your country and trying to impose sharia law on you?
Not exactly a safe thing to be doing in Thailand.
Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan is probably the best bet. I wouldn't suggest doing it anywhere else. Still got to be careful there though. A lot of girls get raped at the full moon party..

I totally understand that if I stay near the BTS, I'll obviously be around a lot less Thais, but I'm looking for something balanced, I have more chances to be around Thai people, if I'm in a "classic" apartment, than if I go the an hotel, where only the staff might be Thai.
If I wanted to be surrounded by 100% of Thais, I wouldn't go to Bangkok. I'm mostly planing on visiting, hanging with my friend that will live there soon, and meet people.
Why not stay somewhere not near the BTS then? There are other ways to get around the city. If you want to avoid tourist areas, then why do you need BTS access? You sound like you don't know what you want.
I know some places you can rent cheaply by the week/month in your price range in Bangkok. Not on a BTS and around "real Thais"
-
If you want to stay around locals, why do you want to stay within walking distance of a BTS stop?
You are here for 2 weeks. You can't exactly "go local" on a 2 week holiday staying in a place near the BTS. Be realistic.
For 10k a week you got plenty of options.
What exactly are you planning to do in the 2 weeks in BKK?
-
So now your budget is 20,000 and not 9000?
-
2 weeks? You will either be paying per night or per week.
The fact you need to be walking distance to BTS at that price range is the killer.
That works out to 640baht per night basically.
Do you think there are many places with A/C / WIFI / walking distance to BTS at that price?
You need to adjust some of your considerations. Whether that is price or location.

No doubt she got pissed over the over stay fine,
she dissed the immigration officer in front of others,
and he dropped the camera charge on her has punishment for his lost face.
Pretty pathetic on his part, 3 hours in the tank as a scare at most,
and she would have been good to go with more respect shown.
But loss of face makes them really stupid and arrogant.
this is how i suspect the situation went down aswell.

rajaprarop mansion
Around 6000 for 1 month. Has WIFI / AC / Pool.
Close to all restaurants around soi rangnam and victory monument.
Rooms are fairly old/drab but good value for the price/short stay.
---
You could also just find an area you want to stay and ask apartments around the Sois there. PLenty will do a short term stay but you will pay a premium on the rent. For example a 5k a month place might ask 8k+ for a single month.
Honestly there are 100s of options.
Anti-Drug Test By Pissing In The Soi

It isn't the drug though. It is metabolites that are stored in your fat cells and can take over 30 days to disappear. Even longer if they take a hair follicle sample.
Why should someone who smoked legally a week before in another country get deported or jailed when he has no "drug" in his system, nor did he illegally solicit/use/carry in Thailand?
