I wonder if there's a law against how many times officials can make own goals in this country....

I often wonder why it doesn't happen more often, especially looking how they "take corners" without any support wires for the poles. Even the last pole in a row has now support.

When a Thai VIP comes home after a trip to Japan with an illegal (small) gun and watching how it has been handled by the authorities in Thailand any airport receiving planes from Thailand might wonder what the passengers has in their pockets.....

It's never too late to do the right thing, but let's see if this can get majority in a vote among people where many later will have to face the music if it will be reinforced......

As mentioned by others also the problem here as in a number of problems in Asia is not the laws but lack of reinforcement due to corruption.

With the present train system a normal intercity train service with doubble rails and trains going 120 km/h would be a dream for Thailand. The rest of the budget could finance education upgrades and other good projects that could be a great benefit for Thailand.

I wonder how it works in real life if a tsunami should come.Equipment have been purchased (very expensive) but education of local staff,test and maintenance is rearly seen around here.

This is mind blowing, I mean one gets use to hear and see things going on in this country that are not from a perfect world but this is another league.......

I think that after the government and the Ministry of Commerce have had a few meetings on the larger embassy's in Bangkok they will reconsider like they did a number of times before. Still to me it is a mystery how this kind of statement again and again can slip out without anyone with knowledge about Thailand's economy and development stopping it. Companies established here for a while gets used to this kind of statements but it will hardly attract new investors or business to Thailand now when you can set op an operation in Myanmar or Cambodia will full support from the local governments and labour for 50% of the Thai prices.

Horrible accident and sad for Thailand, the parents and family that a fair investigation to uncover the reason will never happen

What a wakeup call for me !! , I thought is was these rice farmers again trying to hide all the money they make on the side....

Maybe some missing information in this story. Anybody included disabled persons in problems for what ever reason must report to immigration on time if they are in a situation like this, not doing so will only add to your problems.

The part of ending up in a prison on same row as murderers and similar persons seems to be out of proportions but again the story is maybe missing some facts.... 

How horrible !!!, more attention is indeed needed on the safety in transport of small children.

Last similar accident is less than one year ago as far as I remember.

VIP bus hmm, these guys are driving as if the road was only ment for them. I commute between Bkk and Sam Roy Yod every weekend on motorbike or by car and I just wonder when somebody in a VIP bus or overloaded pickup blocking seccond lane knocks me off the road....

New ways of getting money on hand is sometimes close to funny : "I would like to inspect some millions for a while, see you later"

70 ton from a 16" pipeline van easily be underestimated quite a lot these lines can fill a ship in a day = thousands of tons

As a danish citizen I would suggest that he did his time in Thailand instead of having a very expensive taxpayer financed "holiday" in the danish system. Denmark could pay for the "stay" and save millions in DK. He has apparently already abused the danish system and his family to the limit and has a conviction for that, so no need for feeling sorry for this guy...

If you walk in to an Thai airport with 2 kg of speed in the luggage you will end up in jail before you can spell your own name, If this guy is guilty it would be nice if this was handled with same effectiveness !!!

The story is just sad since the two guys just had a good time (that is was young people are supposed to do before they get old and grumpy) , but to conclude that all off Thailand's youth is in problems based on that is simply nonsense.

I sometimes wonder if some of the members of this forum are being kept in Thailand against their own will ?
