The difference in the American experience and the norm in Asia, is that those trying to come into America have less income than the norm and even the lower income expats coming to Asia have a HIGHER income than the locals. This is a potential win/win situation for all concerned, but there is always government to throw a spanner into the works.

Just look at how devastated Thailand now is without millions of backpackers.

You can only extend the 60 day stay from a tourist visa one time for 30 days.

Not all embassies and official consulates use the e visa site. The consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and the embassy in Hanoi does not use the e visa site.

How would anyone know you are in Vietnam if you are applying for a visa online?

I hear people are staying indefinately with covid extensions its not a big secret

You would be entering with tourist visa 60 day stay.

You can obtain  30 day extension.

You then need to exit Thailand and can reenter visa exempt (border bounce).

That gives 30 days + you can obtain 30 day extension.

    That's 5 months.

If required you could do a second border run + extension = 7 months

OK thank for that update.. What about the covid extensions that everyone seems to be getting for many months in a row?

Im still not clear why you could not leave the country and apply for another evisa?

  4. Hello all, I’ve been gone for 4 years wanting to come back to CNX  in August.

Wondering if I can enter with two month e- visa and then get 30 day extensions for 5 or 6 months total? I realize nobody knows what changes might happen in the next few months but if worse comes to worse could one simply go to Vietnam and apply for another two month e-visa? Is there a limit to how many Evisas you can apply for or which country you have to be in when you apply? I accidentally posted this question under visa on arrival so I’m posting the same question again here.

  6. "It is simply a matter of getting Tourist Visas, and entering at locations (most) that follow the actual rules"

And what would those locations be?LOL

You mentioned not fly in so even suvarmabhum is not by the rules?

By the way I flew in to avoid the terrible treatment and conditions at the sadao border ( they literally scream at you) but apparently as long as you show 20k  its more basic than Don Meuang?

  7. Who said you needed to educate your landlord? If your "friend" who's running the guesthouse doesn't know about it, it's their fault. They SHOULD know about it as it's their business to know the rules & regulations. Anyway, why are you assuming they don't know it, did you ask them?

Yes you are correct she knows about it and will go to immigration I just didnt get a chance to see her until this morning but if she has to go to immigration it is because the government is inept and not capable of maintaining a simple website to log these reports why should every landlord and apartment manager in
Thailand (or is it only chiangmai?) Have to make a trip to immigration everytime someone checks in?
  8. How does TM 30 report apply to tourists?

I came into Thailand from land border in Malaysia 30 day stamp  and traveled for almost two weeks before arriving in Chiangmai and now people are telling me that I wont get an extension in Chiangmai unless a TM30 was filed within 24 hours of arrival in Thailand.

I heard that this only applies to Chiangmai ?

It makes no sense at all for tourists please clarify?

  9. Ha ha you are silly. I spent 3 to 5 hours in that torture chamber many times straining to hear my name being called afraid to go out of the room in case they should call me. The vibe is that place is chaotic and confusing. When I learned about the visa agent I was so happy. I walked past the crowds of refugees clamoring to cross the border and stepped into a helicopter. I would call it first class vip service some of us have better things to do with our time.
