  1. They "believed he may be suffering from Alzheimers" and put him in a hotel ???????????

The poor guy needs to be evaluated and treated medically, if that has not been done already.

How is this guy ever going to be able to or allowed to board an Aircraft in his confused state ?????????

No Airline will accept him as a passanger in that state even if accompanied by a family mmber or other person.

He has to be "Cleared Medically to Fly" and approved by the Chief Medical Officer of the Airline he will be flying on.

Another obvious case of "kicking the can down th road" by both Thai authorities, his Embassy, and his family

  2. Is'nt this the same EC that was in place during the last election when the PTP won ?

Good EC if you win. Bad EC if things don't go your way.

Should'nt it be the job of the Caretaker Government, Prosecuters, and the Judiciary to make decisions to prosecute or not from reports by Police witnessing aledged EC misconduct and not the CMPO ?

Even in Thailand; since when did the RTP (CMPO are working in a RTP capacity) become the Judiciary branch of the Government ?

Just another example of RTP being Judge, Jury, and Executioner here beyond their authority and let the proper branches of Government make the decisions of prosections and comments about who will face charges

  3. Think all security force related issues and assignments are supervisd by the CMPO with the RTP in charge and the military assisiting the RTP at the RTP's discretion of assignments.

Don't think the military can overstep their current role without approval of the CMPO or RTP.

Security forces should be controlling protests and conflicts on All sides.

They need to be protecting all persons. Not just government supporters, protesters, or voters.

Time for them to show that they are impartial in thir enforcement.

  4. CMPO and the RTP both failed to do anything to deter the protests going near the poles and also protecting the protesters from outside attacks.

It is no suprise that the protesters are also arming themselves against armed attackers.

The RTP and government have failed all the Thai people letting this whole situation get out of hand.

    Just Sayin'

Had they used force to deter the protesters it would have led to more violence and clashes and you know it.

Then you'd be here saying it's the government fault for use using force.. etc.. etc

    Just Sayin'

I do not support either side of this mess.

There are legal internationally accepted standards of riot and crowd control that were not undertaken by security forces that are supposed to be under the direction of the CMPO.

My comment is in regards to the OP and the CMPO's claim that the EC is responsible for the failure of Advanced Voting.

International Standards do allow progressive responsive appropriate use of force to resitance from violent or armed resistance.

Don't try to read between the lines of my comment and interject an Assumtion. I did not say anything about using force.

I did say it was no suprise protesters are armed.

The failures oday should not b pinnd on the EC. They reportedly trd t hold the poles, but were prevented doing so by protesters.

The protesters who did in fact block access to the Poles are to blame, as wel as those that attacked the protest convoy. Not the EC.

The COPO was charged with maintaining order. They failed on their part. Not the EC.

  6. The Blame Game by the CMPO for their own Neglegence to adequatly supply security forces to protect the Advance Voting Stations and the EC Members safety while in a State of Emergency Mode.

Thought the CMPO was chargd with Maintaining Peace and Order during the SOE.

The CMPO knew (by their own statements and the recent Constitutional Court case) there could be probelms at the Poles and did nothing, or at least shirking their responsability for Maintaining the Peace.

Instead they say the EC did not notify them to provide security assistance.

It is the CMPO's Job to evaluate situations and take action. Think they don't need to be called when the security issues were known well in advance by the CMPO.

It's pretty much a no brainer that the CMPO did not do their job to protect the Poling venues with the knowledge they had.

  7. It must go ahead.Next weekend there will be many more polling stations and many more voters. Lets hope that the silent democratic majority will prevail.

The silent democratic majority has just opened their mouth

RT@Lerlaforever: Bluesky: A PDRC was shot death near Wat Sri Iam Temple by Red Shirts

RT@veen_NT: One dead from a clash near Wat Sri Aium and at least one injured as red shirt Samut Prakarn attacked NSPRT protesters. #bluesky

RT@Lerlaforever: CORRECTION according to Veena T, he was NSPRT protester, not PDRC

RT@veen_NT: Dr Rawee Maschamadolon told #BlueSky that PDRC was leaving the temple when the red group arrived and then they were attacked.

RT@veen_NT: Dr Rawee: Some protesters are still inside the temple, dare not come out. #bluesky

Photo proof please, that the gunman wore a RED shirt.

There is a video posted of the attacks from afar. There were several persons carrying Red Flags appearing to be agressors while loud gunshots were heard.

  8. Appears as tho the CMPO is ovrstepping their role of enforcing the Emergency Decree and State of Emergency.

Since when is a CMPO Police Comission allowed to make Politicaal Statements and or Comments of how the Election Comission is carying out their Role of holding the Voting Poles?

Or to make Threats of Violnce or allowing Violence. Especially Extrajudicial Killing.

Yes the Police are Authorized to use force as necessry to carry out their Lawful Orders ad Roles.

But not to arbitrarily exceed their role as Police Enforcing the Law.

Things like this could very well undermine the Caretaker Government and Nullify the Elections.

  9. Usually the bar scene is always hit and miss in Pattaya on these bar closing days.

Hotels are exempt and I think some big restaurants.

However with the SOE in effect. Especially in the main traffic areas, bars that open will probably be very limited both saturday and sunday.

Ones away from main road traffic will have more bars open serving "coffee".

Be glad if your in Pattaya. Most other parts of Thailand, Bars in big tourist cities will be closed.

Remember it is also near the end of the month and Papa needs to buy new shoes, so enforcement will be heavier.

No hope this weekend now for bars opening. Only possible for next weekend if they agree to hold off the eeee - rections

  10. Go to Tequila Reef.

    Order Cervasa Por Favor

    Marguaritas

    Tequila Padron

or any type of real Mexican Tequila there (maybe they even have Mescal)

Taco's, Burrito's, Enchelada's, and most Baja style dishes.

Unfortunately this and the place next to the old Blue Parrot are about the only real mexican style food in Pattaya.

As for Spanish Habla Espaniol........... Natha I think

  11. Bang Saray and Ban Amphur (5 kilo's north of Bang Saray) are very nice and relaxing.

Pattaya proper is only 18 kilometers north on the Sukhumvit Highway.

These places are not for red light nite life. But there are some general farang bars without the girlie action.

Unfortunately Bang Saray is quickly losing the Thai Fishing Village country atmosphere.

But Bang Saray and Ban Amphur both are still a long way from being Pattaya style.

Most farangs that live there prefer the laid back lifestyle instead of the Pattaya "in your face" life.

There are a number of Lady beer bars that cater to farangs in Ban Chang which is a few kiloeters down the highway from Utapao Airport (formerly a large US airbase from the Vietnam war era).

There are now condo's, apartments, and homes available to rent in Bang Saray. Homes on the water in the fishing village area.

About 10,000 to 15,000 THB for nice accomodations. Even cheaper if staying in an apartment.

Just be careful of the scam to pay a higher electric and water rates than the regular meter. I have seen it done even in Bang Saray by landloards many times.

Western food is hit and miss. Many western restaurants come and go. But Seafood and Thai food is Great and reasonably priced there.

Beaches in Bang Saray are ok, but narrow and close to the fishing village. The beach at the north end of the town is good, but have to walk from where the road turns toward the Sukhuvit highway. Go to the Thai Navy Beach or Ban Ampur for better cleaner beaches and waters.

To enjoy that area a farang would need to have a car. A motorcycle only would be dangerous to ride Sukhumvit regularly. Especially at night.

A motorbike for in town local transport only.

That area in my opinion is close enougn to shopping and excitement of Pattaya, yet far enough (still) to enjoy a decent life (for now)
