  1. I would, though, like to post up some very good news for golfers!

Emirates economy class passengers not only can take their golf bag entirely free, but they also get an unmatched 30kgs of normal baggage.

To reiterate: 30kgs weight allowance for economy class passengers, PLUS their golf bag at no cost. If you add in the 8kgs of hand luggage, it begins to be seen how good this airline are for weight allowances.

I used to fly them a lot, but last year i tried out qatar. I bought new clubs in england and returned to thailand with them, having that unpalatable experience with a horrible english woman at the check-in desk (i am a very polite respectful traveller, so the demeanour i got from this woman in no way reflected on me or my actions!). 23kgs, no free golf bag.

Paying more for emirates tickets could end up being cheaper in total than flying other airlines. And if one particularly wanted to take a few kgs of stuff to sell at their end destination, emirates should be considered.

I am a teacher, and do not work for this airline!

Totally agree with FF - in my experience Emirates are the most Golfer friendly.

Their website says 1 set of clubs and 1 pair golf shoes free of charge. However i've just brought 2 half sets of clubs and 2 bags/ 2 pairs shoes and a multitude of golf accessories in a large hardcase golf travel case and was never even asked to open case. Total weight was 24.5kg. This is IN ADDITION to the normal 30kg hold luggage and 7kg cabin allowances.

Very generous allowance indeed and all arrived safely and without damage. No, i don't work for Emirates either. :D

  2. I believe most of the guys who do this in Ubon are associated with military. I have seen both at Wing 21 Air Base and around the Border Patrol Police Base. There are threads at guideubon.com forum regarding paragliding but all in Thai.

Many thanks Guys, i'll ask at the gates of Wing 21 Base next time i pass.

    Cheers SG

  3. Hi CH,

In my experience it's better to show the tractor guy exactly what you want done and agree a price for the entire job accordingly.

If you agree to pay per hour, no doubt there will be unexplained delays and a general "go slow" in order to pan out the job for as many hours as possible.

As a very rough guide i had a large digger, dig a pool approx 20 x 10 metres and about 6 metres deep recently. It took about 7 hours and cost TB12000 all in. Pay only after the work is complete and to your satisfaction.

    Good luck :jap:

  4. Picture of the airfield,

(We were looking as an alternate for training but runway is too small for General Aviation, however the place is so peaceful and relaxing that VLA people should not miss it)

Many thanks Jerry for your reply.

I just looked these sites up on Google Earth but both are over 400km from me and just a bit too far for convenient travel.

    Enjoy your flying !!

    Cheers, SG :jap:

  5. I've seen a guy using a Paramotor ( Paraglider with motor and propellor strapped to his back ) several times. He appears to be flying it near Ubon airport !! - but i assume he has permission.Anyone else see this or know if there's a club in Ubon ?Cheers

  6. For just grunt labor, I pay 300 baht a day. For skilled labor, a good electrician for example, 500 baht a day is not out of line.

    Agree-those rates are reasonable

    Lefty

    A tad high i think.

In the villages the rate is TB200 for general labour. TB250 for semi-skilled e.g Plasterer etc and you supply lunch and the occasional bottle of Leo (as required )

But then again i'm Scottish ! :jap:

  7. Now i know the BBC like to "bum up" Celtic but according to Sportsound it was a "staggering result" from Parkhead. How can 3-1 to either side be "staggering" ?

Not like the BBC to exagerate a Celtic win. Sorry BBC - you can't polish a turd.

Not to be outdone Burley on ESPN actually said this was i quote "a massive result in European football".

It's admirable that all these organisations are falling over themselves to congratulate Scotlands only European representatives (courtesy of two "staggering" 3-0 wins over Sion)

But maybe a few home truths need mentioning. This was a match of 2 dreadful defences and BBC forgot to mention huge number of fans disguised as green seats and a Celtic

back four which was a total bombscare. Mastorovic (sp) spent all night heading fresh air and but for some poor finishing in front of goal, Rennes reserves would have won at a canter.

BTW you were sold a pup in Wanyama - he's dross.

  8. Anyone else concerned about the fact Rangers FC have no representation on either the SFA professional board or the SPL board ??

Celtic, on the other hand have 2 representatives - Peter Lawwell and Eric Riley not to mention Stewart Regan, Chief Exec at SFA – an old buddy of Lawwell, and the man who recommended Regan for the job at the SFA in the 1st place.

Don't forget these are the men who will have a large say in what sanctions and fines Rangers will receive if Whyte decides to put Rangers into administration.

It's doubtful these men will be able to put their prejudices and bitterness aside to give Rangers a fair hearing. Conflict of interest ? YES SLIGHTLY !! Kangaroo Court at best.

Don't underestimate this danger Bears -they can't beat us on the Football field but have wormed their way into positions of power in the Scottish game and may well beat us off it !!

  9. Will the reference to Celtic fans as 'DFB' be

removed from the Rangers thread too if you

    are on a clean up?

And referring to Lennon as TLB is as low as

    you can go.

Celtic Fan In Mock Indignation Shocker !!

    :violin:

  10. Question: In hindsight has your continued participation in the Europa League damaged your slender chances of winning the SPL? Would it have been better not to have protested and to have let Sion go through on merit? Or is TLB just the wrong man for the job?

Yes Gers, it's clear to most people TLB can't motivate his players. He was brought in as the cheap option and if you pay peanuts....

I've no doubt Liewell would love to sack him after all the trouble he's brought to Celtics door and their poor form of late. Happily, the Republican element of their support who care less about the football than they do about the weekly IRA'oke insist he stays 'cause he's "Sellik minded". They've also made a rod for their own back with this "we're all Neil Lennon" twaddle. If Lennon is sacked and a failure - they're ALL a failure.

My fear is that another poor performance or loss to Motherwell this w/end might be enough to see him go. Of course, it'll be dressed up that poor wee victim Neil was harassed out of Scottish Football. Dont be surprised if a letter or death threat conveniently turns up to be used as the excuse for him to leave.

Make no mistake, this is a very talented Celtic side, still capable of going on to win the title under the correct manager . Properly directed and motivated this group of players will push Rangers all the way. Also, sometime during the season Rangers will have the inevitable loss of form and poor results. My hope is we can build up enough points in the Bank now to cover this.

I don't think the question about the Europa League is valid. After all we have played more games in Europe over the last 3 seasons and still gone on to be crowned Champions.

    Keep the faith.

    Sawadee Khrap :jap:

  11. ^ Tosser.

Oh dear - Internet hardman !

Who, you or TLB is a tosser ?

Lennon has brought nothing but disgrace on your football club and damaged Scottish Football.

Joke of a manager and total tramp.

No, i think you're both tossers - ( in your own words, you and TLB ).

Pity you live so close to me in Ubon.

Hope i never see you in the Green and Grey in Tesco Lotus or Big-C.

I'll have my Gers top on - if you want to "discuss" matters just tell me !

    WATP. :bah:

  12. Ho Ho it's in the Daily Record - it must be true !!

It's your only hope - Rangers go into administration and you win the Championship (maybe).

By default - again same as Sion in Europe.

Surely your own club has enough problems, without looking at your superior rivals.

Your Club has no shame. Any normal club would be embarassed, you're 3rd in a 2 horse race !! - deflect, deny, deceive.

It's the Celtic way , since 1888 :bah:

    Worried aren't you? biggrin.gif

    Terrified !

And it's congrats to Rangers keeper Allan McGregor and Leah on the safe arrival of their wee girl today !

It's no wonder Greegs has been a tad distracted of late with the impending arrival of his 1st child.

i'd still rather have him between the sticks than Fwaser Fwoster any day.

    Go on yoursel' Al.

God bless you and your family. :D

  13. SPL Table Since We Pumped Them at Ibrox Played Won Lost Draw GD Points

    Rangers 7 6 0 1 12 19

    Motherwell 6 4 1 1 2 13

    St John 7 4 2 1 6 13

    Hearts 6 3 3 0 1 9

    Hibernian 7 2 2 3 0 9

    Celtic 6 2 2 2 -1 8

    Dun Utd 6 2 2 2 1 8

    St. Mirren 6 2 3 1 0 7

    Aberdeen 6 2 3 1 3 7

    Kilmarnock 7 1 3 3 -5 6

    Inverness 6 1 4 1 -6 4

    Dunfermilne 6 0 4 2 -13 2

If Killie hadn't folded after being 3-0 up at half time Celtic would be 10th in the list.

Wee Neil must stay !! :P

  15. Laugherty !!! ???

3 SPL titles, 2 league cups, and 1 Scottish Cup medals.

Goals and a hat-trick in the final title winning games for the past 3 season, a ratio of around 1 goal in every 3 games in his Rangers career.

And shag*ing Miss Scotland. How's that fair ?

Go on Lafbot - can't imagine why the unwashed don't like you my son. :whistling:

  16. Spongeman, if it was my decision then 'yeah.'

That was the worst Celtic display in memory.

Absolutely woeful. I thought the 1st half was

bad, but I had no idea what was in store after

the break. 'Team!' Team my arse.

Lenny's face said it all every time the cameras

    went to him.

Probably getting in the back door to Europe is

too much for him. A serious rethink is in order.

    <deleted>, I hate Monday mornings.

Come on chaps "this isn't the end - this is the beginning" - remember ? :whistling:

Give poor wee Neil at least until Xmas - PLEASE !

Who else would give Samaras a new 3 year contract after scoring only 3 goals ALL last season and 0 goals so far this season ?

And it's adios to outgoing chairman Baron Reid of Cardowan ( strange he accepted a peerage of the United Kingdom ) then went on to be Chairman of a club who hate all things British ??

I for one would love him to stay on. During his tenure Celtic have won 2 out of a possible 9 domestic trophies. Their superior rivals RANGERS have won SIX.

Good luck and wish you more success in your next job your lordship.

  17. Hopefully Lenny might get them together and explain that it is allowed in the rules to the game to begin the game in an alert state of mind, and no law that says you have to sleep for the first 10 minutes. :realangry:

It will be fine Sunday if Samaras is taken out of the equation.

Are you watching it on the tinternet, Salty ol' son?

Did not see it at all CB,almost as bad as dial up here.

Things are beginning to look ominous. I hope you were wearing your Sunday Best while you were watching.

Yeah - full Leprechaun outfit complete with ginger beard and green wellies. :D

To be fair salty it could have been a cricket score in the first half. They are just a much better team imo.

Look forward to Sunday with confidence. wink.gif

Hi Guys hope you enjoyed the game - I DID !!

Trouble is we need to get "Rent-a-Kill" in to fumigate the away end at Ibrox after the vhermin polluted it.

Was disappointed to see poor wee victim Neil couldn't be bothered to go to your end to thank TGFITW after the game - poor show - maybe the love-in is coming to an end

BTW i've seen cleaner looking tramps sleeping in cardboard boxes at Glasgow Central than Neil Lennon. Unshaven, tatty, dishevelled filthy appearance - represents your club perfectly. After all - "you're ALL Neil Lennon". :whistling:

    55 here we come :D

  19. Transfer talk

    McCoist ponders Miller return

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is considering a move to re-sign Kenny Miller for what would be a third spell at Ibrox for the striker.

Kenny Miller has struggled to adapt to life in Turkey and could return home

Miller and his family have struggled to settle off the pitch in Turkey following his January move from Rangers to Bursaspor. He was the top goalscorer in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League last season despite leaving in the winter, having struck 21 goals.

McCoist, who has lost striker Kyle Lafferty for the season opener against Hearts with a groin injury, said: "Kenny has never been out of my thoughts. He is a player who did very, very well for us.

"I certainly wouldn't rule Kenny out but I haven't spoken to him at any great length about it because he is still under contract at Bursaspor.

"It's an avenue we will look at as Kenny ticks all the boxes in terms of what we're looking for.

"I'd imagine I'll be speaking to him again in the next couple of days.''

Bursaspor have told Rangers they will have to pay "serious money'' to bring Miller back.

"If the circumstances are right, if things are good, and the conditions are correct, then why not?'' Bursaspor's director of transfers, Erkan Kamat, was quoted as telling STV. "But Rangers have to pay serious money, a good transfer fee.

"If Rangers are opening the door, we can maybe settle something. It can happen but it is not just a case of opening the door, it's not that easy. At the moment I am not talking about his valuation. We will see what Rangers want to do.''

Last month Rangers refused to entertain several offers from Bursaspor for defender Steven Whittaker but Kamat shrugged off his disappointment.

"I wanted to sign Steven Whittaker but Rangers always gave me a no answer,'' he added. "In fact they didn't even get back in touch with me. I will have to make a plan. I can't say anymore just now. I will meet Kenny tomorrow, and then we will have a clearer picture.''

fuc_k me. I know Kenny is a proven goalscorer. But he left for Turkey. Failed to settle since January. <deleted> its only July. Jeez!! Lets move on and bring in some new players.

    Can't agree JS.

Proven goal scorer at this level. Incredibly he was highest scorer in SPL last season despite leaving in January !

Knows all about Rangers and should fit back in seamlessly.

IMO would make a great partnership with Jela.

If we can get him on a 2 year contract for around the £400 K we sold him for i would take him back.

In this transfer market for this price there simply isn't better value for money out there.

He would have to accept a huge wage cut ( from around 50K a week i think ) to half that.

We really need to start getting a few players in mate - latest rumour is that the Cuellar deal might be on again and that Gordon Smith is in Italy for talks with Gattuso !

Looks like Ally wants to invite all x-players back for another go :D

The close season - don't you just luv it.
