  1. "The Chamber of Commerce should be outraged.

With the current system, it make it very difficult to go about and do business.

I would use a meter taxi 3 or 4 times a day if they existed.

Instead, I might get one or two of these things done, especially in this oppressive we are having. . . .

I'm sorry I don't understand. I was told Pattaya was a family friendly city. Low traffic, easy parking everywhere, and plenty activities and things for me to bring my 10 year old daughter there to do. Many nice parks, green areas, and places I would want to fly half way around the world, let alone drive down from BKK, so my children can see and enjoys these wonderful kid friendly glistening beaches and other activites in Pattaya, the "Family friendly" city everyone is talking about !

  2. you really just want the cheepest of everything ? Don't think I would want to live there or come over for a visit.

However redoing mine, there are bargins to be had but you have to hunt them out. One week Home pro has the deals, the next week Home works or somewhere else. And what I like may not be what you like or think is a bargin. Get out look around. plenty of shops.

There are lots of cheep kitchens, again cheep and only last a few years. I went to CM and got real solid teak for only a small amount more for custom work and I amsure it wall last longer than me

  3. Last several bike I bought new, (This year) I had the Plate and book and everything within 6 months.

A few years back I purchased a new Tiger, kept asking for the book from the dealer. After 12 months I said I was going to the Police and they gave me a new bike and green book within hours.

Fine with me, I got 1 year free use of a bike and then a new one

  4. It really is not a big issue. Having bought many condos and now developing and selling condos, I have never had trouble.

Keep a record from your bank, as well as with who you transfer it in with. You can do directly to the company you are buying from or your own account here in Thailand, I have used some amounts years after it was transfered in. I find mostly depends on your relationship with the bank more than anything.

Remember this law was made to help you, so Girlfriends or others can't make claims to your Condo later.

  5. I always go wrong around the Ayuthayya intersection when heading towards Bangkok.

Can anyone tell me what road to take to avoid Bangkok and head to the airport road, I always end up going through Bangkok.

before BKK on Highway 32. Just after the weight station is the blue (toll) sign for Highway 9 as well as a small Pattaya sign. I think it is near the 3 or was that 13 km sign post ??? But you can't mis the weight station down there.

  6. PPS Chiang Mai Accessories Did my tinting as well as add some extra lights and rain guards

They were ready for my appointment, did the job well, all the work I thought was top notch and explained everything in English to me and gave me all the paperwork I needed.

I would go there again, and my Nissan March was 2,800 Bt, but I got 100 Bt discount more

  7. On the Hang Dong road at Airport Plaza, southbound (towards Hang Dong) just after the traffic lights there is a Michelin I think on the left, and a little further down on the other side of the road at a U-turn is a Dunlop, where we got our tyres replaced recently. I don't know about rebalancing but they managed to find some extra work to do on a wheel overnight, but they offered to take us home. There are numerous car related shops on that road.

Across from the Tesco lotus on Hang dong road is a cockpit and the Dunlop store. I have gotten tires at each this year, both have many brands and sizies. Price included balance as well as alignment with 4 new tires and I was very happy with the work

  8. Time to wake up and learn for others TOT

Back in the 80's Las Vagas did the family friendly route. It failed very badly. After pushing that for about 10 years they gave up and switched to the naughty city it is. "what happens in Vagas stays in Vagas" things turned around, and were much better for Vagas as a place to go, have fun, then return home. Here they say family friendly in Pattaya, where do I park my car ? No where near where I want to go. What can I do with my 10 year old daughter ? GO to the beack and look at the hookers get work or the jet skier scam the tourist ? Let's all just be truthful and call it what it is

  9. This may well be a dumb question, but do bigger windows count the same as smaller ones or are they all 500 baht?

 I have a Nissan March. When my Thai wife asked the price it was 4500, I went the next day and got 2,800 that I talked down to 2,600

That includes 4 doors. The back doors are really 2 windows, the ones that roll down and the part that does not. As well as the back window and 15cm at the top of the front window.

when you say large window I wonder what car or van that could be ? They have a list. For my car I think the price is good. On my Nissan NV they said 25 for just 2 doors and the small back window and I thought that was high after the march was 2600 for more than double the windows.

Let you know how the job works out.

  10. I looked at quite a few places and the quality is not the same for the cheap places. Both of my cars were tinted at PPS on the way to the Airport Mall-from Hang Dong. Top notch work & you will pay a little more, but worth it. 100% will not allow you to see out at night!

Thanks, Have a booking there for tomorrow at 550 Bt a window

  11. Bored?

Yes, being bored IS dangerous. Men tend to do silly things when they are bored.

But, back to the OP's question...

Riding a motorbike is probably the most dangerous thing I do in Thailand. I was never silly enough to smoke and I haven't regretted it. I never get drunk, either. That leaves women, and as long as you never believe what they tell you then you'll stay safe. I can't say I've always followed my advice about women, and when I didn't it eventually came back to bite me. I'm getting a little wiser now.

    Ditto on that . . .

  12. Tried this topic in the Auto forum with no luck.

I have a small car, like March, Jazz, Yaris, Vios, City.

Has anyone had theirs tinted and what was the price.

Any good shops anyone knows of or any shops to stay away from

The one shop I went to clearly was wanting to charge me double so I walked

  13. Quick question . . .

For a small car like March, Jazz, Yaris, what is a fair price for decent window tinting ?

Any one know a good shop in the Chiang Mai, Hang dong area ?

    Thanks
