  1. I have mate who is 50 odd now, He was there, He told me that everytime they bought a round they bought one for the turf on the table. They then poured a wee dram on the grass that they had got from Wembley.Just remember there is NO arguement that the English are thugs. No matter what you say. It will fall on deaf ears.Eh! Eh! What did ya say? :o

You obviously were not in London when the sweaty hoards invaded :D

    Not a pretty sight

  2. As a follow up to the "Limeys in Thailand Forum " I noticed many posts refer to the drunken ,hooligans that many young(and not so young) Brits portray themselves as at footy matches and generally where-ever they travel around the world and, I was wondering as the late Professor Julius Sumner-Miller would say "Why Is It So "

Just behaving exactly as they do at home, it is just more noticable abroad

  3. International Driving Licence and IDPs ?

Which is which ?  As I shall be moving to Thailand in August I thought it prudent to get an International Driving Licence. Tried the post office who said no, go try the DVLA in Swansea.

So, phoned them and was told in no uncertain terms that the International Driving Licence was a totally different animal and nigh on impossible to get hold of.

The best I can manage, it seems, is an International Driving Permit. I have to go to a particular post office (Luton) with photos, utility bills, passport and current British Driving licence.

It's only valid for a year and I'm not sure what currency it will have in Thailand if I decide to buy a car and need a Thai licence.

    Any suggestions ?

You need an IDP (International Driving Permit) along with your UK driving licence

to drive in Thailand and to apply for a Thai licence. It's only valid for one year but when you get your Thai licence you dont need it any more.

It only costs £5 and takes 5 mins

    :o

  4. Thanks for the info, thought as much.

Do you happen to know if its possible to hire a car on a UK driving license, or if an international license is required?

To be on the safe side get an International Driving Permit,

Costs £5 and takes 5 minutes from Post Office

  5. Liverpool will fluke it, and then win the final, they are due a bit of luck, Cisse hat trick in the final, Lampard signs for Liverpool in the close season, come on you reds

    Darn good prediction...

I watched the match last night and - hat trick aside - liverpool did indeed fluke it through with a Very dubious goal. C'mon PSV if the reds are to win, and otherwise it looks like the cup is Milan's...

Well done Liverpool, nice to see them getting a bit of luck.

Jamie Carragher ,what a star :o

  6. Just curious to find out the main reasons that people first visited Thaivisa.com. Was it for visa info? Travle to Los info? Stumbled upon this site by chance? The tsunami news? Just wondering guys and girls. Give us you views on why you first visited. The reason i first came here was it was mentioned to me by a friend i worked with. So i thought i'd check it out. So i'm a regular from that first day of posting to threads started by others to the first thread i posted. So come on tell us what was the reason and why do you come back?

Going to live in Thailand and needed info on visa etc, Googled and ended

up here. Great forum with excelent advice.

  7. They used to kill the stray dogs here too, they are not being killed for food or for export here, they are dumped in the local landfill. Southerners do not eat dogs and I believe that even Isaan people would turn their noses up at dogs dead for a few days in the back of a truck.

The dogs are taken alive.... the look on their faces when they leave on the back of a pickup... well..... :o

    totster :D

Seen the dog truck in my wifes village taking away a dog from our neighbours house and leaving a new bucket.Quite a distressing sight for a dog lover :D .

When I asked the neighbour why she got rid of the dog she replied

    "because it barked"

  8. Here is the story i got from my wife, and one of my thai neighbors who both believe in this. But according to the is there are no drugs involved. These people have some black magic powers. About six months ago, this girl told my wife that she was walking on second road near big C in Pattaya when three girls approached her.they started a friendly conversation, then touched her wrist, and she gave them all herjewlry she was wareing, about 6000 baht, and gave them all the money she had. Thais are very superstisous ( i don't think i spelled this correctly) asnd firmly believe in this so called black magic.

I watched a programme on channel 4 in the UK last night

where this bloke called Daren Brown went up to people in

the street and asked them for directions and then asked them for thier

wallets, keys, phones ect and the people just gave them to him.

the "victims" said they don't know why they gave their things to him,

    they just did.

Maybe no drugs need to be used just the power of the mind

    :o
