Racist dual pricing, as you call it, must keep you out of most locations in Thailand. I would hate to live the life of a recluse based on your comment, but up to you...
Anyone can get in there. They do have security who seem to be running quite a good business. We stopped for a look about 12 months ago and there was quite a few people in there. I think the admission fee was 100 baht for thais. Don't know the farang price we didn't go in as my wife is scared of ghosts.
Another racist dual pricing case in Thailand. No way I would ever enter that place on this basis alone.

We don't need them, don't want them and never will.
Stay at home in your sweltering sandbox, ride your camels, herd your goats and make more babies with your wives and slaves. My fervent prayer is that oil and gas fall to $5.00 a barrel
So they should learn to say "Do you want that Burqa in Black or Dark Black?"

HERE'S A BRILLIANT IDEA. WHY NOT PUT LIGHTED FLASHING SIGNS ON BOTH APPROACHES TO EVERY SINGLE RAILROAD CROSSING IN THAILAND? IT DOES NOT HAVE TO SAY A WORD; JUST A BIG STOP SIGN WITH A PHOTO OF A TRAIN AND WHAT IS LEFT OF A SMASHED VEHICLE. EVEN ILLITERATE DRIVERS CAN GET THE MEANING OF THIS SIMPLE IDEA, BUT THAILAND WOULD RATHER TALK ABOUT IT AND STUDY IT RATHER THAT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE ROOT CAUSE OF TRAIN/VEHICLE ACCIDENTS, MEANWHILE A FEW MORE HUNDRED WILL SURELY DIE OR BE INJURED BEFORE(if) ANYTHING IS DONE...AND THAT IS THE TRUTH
Running the lights, not looking for trains

I think she made that choice as far as relationship. She is still a person with needs however and if you are in a position to help her, particuarly in getting proper hospital pain control when it is needed if the situation is as you say it may be a nice thing to do.
Cynical here, having heard and read so many stories and lies that can be told by a cheating girlfriend. Cancer is a easy excuse for getting sympathy and I am not a believer until I hear it from her doctor even if it has to be translated. If you want a second opinion, take her to Bumungrad (SP) hospital in Bangkok. I sincerely hope she gets well and you let your heart do what it will. I thought Thais got decent medical care once they get past the village witch doctor. Maybe I m wrong, but I dare say most Farangs probably can't cough up enough baht to pay for chemo, radiation treatment, hospital stay, and a room and food for mama, because, as you probably know, Thais do not seem to stay over night in the hospital unless at least one family member stays with them, no matter how long they are in the hospital. May God and Buddha place their loving hands on her and cure her if she is sick.

I've not heard of any official ban on cutting, however with the price of latex being so low at present (20 baht kilo and likely to fall even further) to some it's hardly worth their while. I did hear a rumour that the Govt. may encourage rubber farmers to abandon rubber, cut down their trees and plant alternative crops.
There's too much of the stuff on the World market at present. China is said to have established huge plantations that are said to be shortly coming on line, that will reduce the demand for Thai rubber. I'm afraid the outlook for rubber farmers does not look too rosy.
Encourage the to cut their trees down? I hope it may be financial encouragement as most have been waiting year with dreams of being coming rich.
I heard from a farmer near our village who was having the older trees that were not producing any longer, I guess would be the reason for cutting a 20 year old tree down, that they sold for an average of 3,000 TB per tree; good money if you have a large farm but a heck of a long time to wait for the profit, if you can call it that. It is very discouraging and disheartening to see the anguish on my wife's face after planting, feeding, and keeping the undergrowth cut away for seven years to see the prices drop to 20 baht per kilo

We have a small rubber tree farm in Isaan and this will be our first year of cutting and selling "cup latex". My wife has been hearing about a six months ban on all rubber tree tapping. Has anyone else heard of this ban and can shed a some more light on this topic?
If it is indeed true, how can these poor farmers afford to wait that many month before being allowed to sell latex again? At today's prices, the little profit we make will barely cover
the cost of yearly upkeep and it is also the only source of cash income for many small farmers like us. Just how will we and thousands of others survive if our only source of revenue is suddenly cut off?

Penetration is permitted. Just not the foreplay.
The driver is upset only because he cant see all the action. Please be sure to keep both hands on the wheel, driver. LOL

My book of little known, yet still published useless facts, is now complete.

Oh great, the writer couldn't bother to translate the Thai name of the snake into its English equivalent and chose to invent a new one instead. Someone who doesn't know Thai will have a hard time identifying the "Thab Saminkla" because Google has, of course, never heard about it. ทับสมิงคลา = white-banded krait/Malayan krait. Bungarus Candidus.
Amazing that on your first post, you find a reason to complain.

This is an exceptional piece of reporting. All you other media, take a good look and see how it's done! It's concise, sequential, uncomplicated and impartial - the story on Pattaya One even got a cliff hanger.
The only problem is the content: shoplifting...really?!
What else do you call stealing from a store? I thought shop lifting nailed it right on the head.

You're forgetting about all the people who run the reds. Nobody wants to be t-boned.
Quite the lovely exaggeration on the green light. Maybe three second delay is more like it, but your wife got so annoyed it seemed like a minute. Lights don't even stay green for more than 1 minute. Take a chill pill because you will not change the other drivers.
I better go now; cars are honking their horns behind me and for some reason it is really annoying my wife. She said they had been honking their horns for a minute at least for some reason

Corruption has not stopped in Phuket. This is a huge undertaking for him and it may be too big for him to tackle. Just sayin'.
Yep
He took a bold step with this statement. Corruption has too many heads here so I guess he will chop off one head at a time, but I fear the snake will only grow another head in another location or business
I applaud his efforts

Thai Restaurant Association? Sounds like competitors trying to stir up problems by making street food more expensive or less available to get rid of their low cost competitors.
Here is a Heads' Up for the Thai Restaurant Industry. The tourists aren't coming her to eat your daily sidewalk road kill. Be realistic for once. If you think the sidewalk food is cusing a lack of tourism I disagree. Most of the tourists, in my opinion, are looking for new young but legal bar girls and a decent price for a cold beer and a Soapy.

A Nigerian using email to scam? Say it ain't so. Good work Sherlock Holmes!
I know I am indulging in a fantasy here, but I wish this was the same Nigerian who has been bugging me for years over the millions of dollars he needs to move from his war torn country. Tables are turned in this instance since most of the appeals come from gals living in a youth camp in Nigerian who are not old enouth, no matter their age to move money w/o a gullible accomplice.

I try to choose seats where I have plenty of room, but if my knees go into the back of the person in front, I just suffer it and make sure they can feel my knees in their back.
Unless you're in an exit row seat in Economy class, or are a petite 100 pounds instead of the fat 300 I am, there is always a problem when the person in front reclines their seat. but they paid for a seat thet reclines, so I put up with the discomfort or fly Business Class when I can afford it
Until I can, I will try to be a happy fat sardine in a little can

Squeeze, what boobs........thought Japanese women are titless.
Same, same as Thai women.
Just could not stop myself from saying that I know "First Hand" all Japanese and Thai women aren't boob less, much to my delight, and I am ever so happy they generally do not need the breast augmentation to make them confident of the way their boobs look!

this will tarnish the country's image...
Nope... only live up to it.
Came to Thailand a few years back because I had given up on America with all the violence and crime and Politicians of all parties as guilty as any convicted crook for much of wht is wrong in America, Now, health issues and lack of affordable expat healthcare insurance, combined with a respectful disillusionment of life in LOS, is why I am leaving my retirement dream location. I will go back to a State where you do not even have to have a license to carry a personal weapon unconcealed. I don't have any information on how crimes committed using guns there and being able to carry unconcealed to protect yourself, correlate to lets say, armed robbery, but One seldom sees the few States with this law, in the news for mass killings.
-
This, in my narrow world view of justice, is the right way to deal with the criminals. Why should any Gov't put an individual in prison for 20 years before killing them or turning them loose to do the same or worse crime again and again. It is obvious that countries have varying sentences for the same crime; depending upon how Slick one's attorney is at plea bargaining, or "If the Glove does not fit you must acquit"., defense

Odd that Fox News is adamant that "sources confirm" the execution video is real. Who knows; maybe these sources have a different video that wasn't staged. Maybe the US is just using this as more ammunition for continuing to Drone bomb ISIS. If you have seen the real thing you will definitely know the difference. RIP
I don't know what it looks like to cut someone's throat and behead them. but the video most certainly appears to be staged, not an actual execution.
i do . . i saw one a few years ago (a genuine one) and it is the most horrific thing i've ever experienced. The blood flows immediately, the screams are penetrating, it's an awful thing to witness and it affected me for quite some time after.
edit: i got over it . . but it hardened, then strengthened, the soul to understand what evil is capable of.

Thanks for the chuckle about the wife being on holiday. Try doing all the things any mom does for a newborn; give yourself a week, and you will gladly eat your words. Parenting is a wonderful addition to marriage but your wife is definitely not having fun 24/7 as you would soon find out if you were changing messy diapers and feeding and holding the newborn day and night for the indefinite future. Just think how nice it will be to reach over to the child;s cot and put it in your arms and nurture it without having to go to the next room to get baby; but it sounds like you are already distancing yourself from parenthood and expect the little Missus to do all the work Shame on you' relax. enjoy and love the child. It will be small and quite tractable for a few short years only.
Just so you know, taking care of a newborn is nowhere near a holiday. Having the baby cot in your room is not an issue you can move it into another room when the baby gets bigger.

It is indeed hard times for the rubber tree farmers. Prices per kilo are way down; last time we sold it was only 21 baht per kilo. We cannot but break even at this rate, if we are lucky. Someone posted that it was time for farmers to wake up and join the 20th century. That is a slap in the face to all hard working farmers, none of whom I know are rich. The BEST advice I have ever heard about farming is to never say anything bad about a Farmer while you have food in your mouth, or tires on your truck, too I might add. If you were on this end of the business watching all your hard efforts turn to naught, you might think differently about the rubber tree farmers
Well, they just planted half of the north east with it.
This is going to ruin some people and quite a few retirement nest eggs. -
What has it been now; about a month since the clamp down on Visa Runners went into effect? I just had this little niggling doubt the clamp down would last because of the problem it would create with a shortage of English teachers, most of all. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe the relaxation of the border runner rules( I should not use that term), lack of rules, is for a completely different reason. Amazing Thailand
S... me Sherlock fancy, by screwing down hard on teachers doing boarder runs you run short of English teachers. Up side the ones here might now be in greater demand and Demand = more money Happy happy oh happy days.

Help from the US Embassy; now that will be a surprise. I had a smaller problem-needing funds to get home a few years ago. The US embassy said solly about that Farang You must get your money from family. I think your story is bogus anyway so get a cup and sit on the corner of any soi that has bars and start begging; else you will have a Thai prison in your near future, where I understand you can work off your debt at the rate of 200 baht a day . It might only take you ten years to get enough money to buy a plane ticket home where you should immediately enroll in English language classes instead of sitting on the toilet thinking about whatever is in your brain at the moment. You are in big trouble real soon
You managed to piss away 30 million baht?
Sorry I have no sympathy for you at all, go beg on your knees to your ex or go to the US embassy and speak to someone there

You are 100% correct and if it had been black on white or white on white killing you would never see the rioting and looking taking place, when have you ever seen a white face running out of a store front with a TV or some other goods in their hands. My experience says never....
..but it's a backlash against whitey...(again)
If the police officer was black nothing would have happened.

Street cobbler ruins $240 boots
in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Posted
Well. You get what you pay for, sometimes. I mean how was this street cobbler supposed to know you had just handed him your, to me from me, favorite $240.00 birthday boots? This problem is your naivete about getting quality work from someone who is used to cleaning cheap 100 baht loafers.
