  1. It's likely that Israeli and/or US authorities put pressure on Thai authorities to notify the Malaysians at KL airport. Somehow, I can't picture any Thai authority having the alacrity and taking the initiative to making that call on his own. If so, great. Yet, from observations of Thai officialdom over a quarter century, I've seen them move at glacial pace, if they move at all.

One of hundreds of examples: when I went to report a motorbike stolen, the cop who took the report, typed with two fingers, and it took him an hour and a half to type some words on the report. Then, an hour after that, he mentioned that stolen motorbikes (from our northern town) were nearly always taken over the Burmese border. The border crossing was one hour distant from us, but it didn't occur to any of the cops to issue a warning, forthwith, to border guards to be on the look-out for the stolen bike.

Another example: When authorities at Hawaii's Earthquake Center wanted to inform Thai authorities of the impending tsunami from the big earthquake of a few years ago, who do they call? They probably tried calling Thai authorities, but either got a disfunctional #, a number which didn't pick up, or a person answering who didn't have a clue what the caller was calling about, and didn't try to understand, and likely hung up right away, thinking 'another farang ba'.

I agree completely!, Both of the examples you have given are excellent and closely related to the recent bombings. I am especially impressed with the anecdote regarding the tsunami. It is so spot on, that if it didn't actually happen the way you tell it, it should have, it should have!

I bet among family and friends you have a reputation as something of a raconteur whose true to life, yet poignant and perceptive tales have kept your loved ones raptly entertained. Don't stop here! Please make up some more almost-true-to-life anecdotes regarding Thai incompetence, i could use a chuckle, and you seem to be just the fellow to provide it.

Hillarious.....love it.....but watch out, a sense of humor is a dangerous thing on this forum!!
  2. Chulalongkorn Hospital doctor says Iranian suspect in stable condition in ICU under strict security; suspect still can't give testimony /TANN

So he gets free medical treatment but Joe Blow F-rang without insurance or a wheelbarrow of cash gets kicked to the curb? annoyed.gif

Sadly, Jing, that would seem par for the course all over. Feckless or criminal scum always seem to be looked after from the tax-payers' purse, while the decent citizens are left to fend for themselves.

As an aside, interesting to see how many apologists for Iran have emerged in the many threads on this topic. Anytime now I expect to be reliably informed that Mossad actually ran Auschwitz!

At least they'll save some costs as a pair of leg irons won't be needed for one of them.

He'll get a wheelchair with one wheel instead.
  3. Also there was a third suspect who wasn't caught ??? Sorry people just trying to connect the dots.. Who not to say the third suspect was a undercover intelligence officer that's why there was a huge argument at the house then a bomb went off then other two fled one went to the airport and other person try to do a runner but ended up blowing himself up ...

Yes....you've cracked it.......now, sugar on down to the Israeli Embassy and tell them....could you video it for us, can't wait to see the look on their faces.
  4. It is exactly what the good American has been warning about. Get it.

@sparebox2. Since your little slogan says you are not a "Farang" and that you wouldn't want to be, you are then most likely not educated, or enlightened, enough to know that statement is a racist statement and thereby discredits pretty much anything you would ever say in a forum mostly used by Farang. In fact, presuming that slogan suggests you are Asian, any good, morally adjusted Asian person would also be offended. Maybe you should just stick with your "own kind"...racists that is.

I also find his nic xenophobic and childish but your comment regarding education and enlightenment, equally so.
  5. I think that phone is limited to the card capacity it can use.

    2GB, not 4GB or bigger.

(or it can only use SD cards, and you purchased a SDHC card)

........I think you have it.........yes, i purchased an SDHC card, you'd think Nokia phones would support this......apparently it seems I may be limited to 2GB with SD cards......not impressed Nokia!!
  6. Which Nokia is it?

    x2

It's a nokia X2....regular phone, not a smartphone. It came with a Nokia 2GB SD card, wanted more memory so purchased 8GB apacer SD card ...........why do I get no compatibility problems with the Nokia 2GB SD card but do with the Apacer card...are there any files that I can transfer from the Nokia card to the Apacer card that would make the Apacer card compatible?
  7. Stamping it out is simply impossible, perhaps better to try to discourage under-age prostitution, and to send a stronger message to the world's pedophiles, to go elsewhere ?

That's the sort of negative attitude that we can do without. Of course it's possible to stamp it out. It will be extremely difficult, but it's possible to clean it up. We need people like Chuvit to make a stand. It takes time to get these things done, but at least he's making a start, which is more than you're doing, which is sniping from the comfort of your armchair.

.........Reality calling W11guy.....come in W11 guy, you seem to have lost contact.
  8. ok.....can anybody help with this ....just bought an SD card (apacer) to use in my Nokia. After transferring music from my PC onto the card via a card reader I inserted the SD card into the phone......so far so good.....but no....the phone cannot see the music files and tells me that I need to format the card. So, with the phone I format the SD card, remove it from the phone and via card reader connect it to the PC again. Try again.....this time the PC tells me to format the card. I have a Nokia SD card as well that doesn't cause the same hassle. Anybody savvy with this one ?

  9. Aren't you the member who started that rather controversial topic last week titled "My top ten reasons" for leaving Thailand?

I'm surprised you could find the time to write songs - or have you finished packing already?

I think "pissed and poor" explains a lot of the comments you make in the above mentioned topic last week.

PS I don't think the song's going to be a hit either...

    wasn't him
  10. cheesy.gifSuspect's confession led to finding of bomb ingredients "The suspect said the substances were usually shipped out of the country hidden in electric fan boxes," Priewphan said.

"The suspect asked me to tell Thai people not to worry because there would indefinitely be no terrorism attack in Thailand," he said.....After questioning, Gen Priewpan said Mr Hussein, a Lebanese with a Swedish passport, will be deported to his country without being charged, as he had not committed any wrongdoing.......................Hilarious....
